Yep , should have cut or broke off as much as they could sticking outside the Leg or leg protector , good they didn't remove the Boot & leg protector . If they had opened a major artery , he could have bled to death riding back .

I would also like to add , that the New MEC single stage Press is still pumping out precise concentricity Ammo , all with in 0.001" run out , with Lee Dies . I will be taking these 25-45 Sharps & the 308's I loaded to see if they do shoot better because of the Run Out .

Just like it was for the 300BLK at first . I'm using 6mmx45 data , pretty close , but won't know till I try . They read that you won't get much or peak Velocity , but we all know that high Velocity doesn't necessarily mean accuracy . I didn't want to spend a $$ on one pound of the ones SRC listed till I see whats is what with what I have , since I have a decent collection of Powders . I also don't have anywhere local to get any . Now ya cant say this isn't fun !

Didn't DPMS do the same thing with the G2 ? Though I like POF's Piston system in some ways . I have an AR 15 build with the POF Billet Upper & lower Receivers & with all of the Ambidextrous features built in & its real nice for my south paw Wife. Makes me wonder about the Bolt being the same size as a 5.56 with a 308 pattern face . Though POF has some good R&D .
-
So is AR 10 , just look up a part for a DPMS LR 308 Sorry , I couldn't resist .
-
Well the Patents don't mean a thing , they own the "AR 15 Name & have sued to keep it that way , just how many AR15 type rifle companies call their rifles " AR 15" ? My point is , you don't see Colt owners saying thats not an AR 15 , you have something else , when you call your rifle a AR15 , now do ya .

Loaded five each of 23.0 gr IMR 3031 23.3 gr.-IMR 3031 23.6 gr. IMR 3031-C 24 gr. IMR 4895 24.5 gr. - IMR 4895-C For testing with Chrono.. not sure how these Powders will do , I might even try Ramshot TAC & no you won't see these Powders listed for the 25-45 Sharps . Some of these are very slightly compressed .
-
What manufacturer is you Bolt /BCG ? Cratered primers can also be a sign that the Firing Pin Hole in the Bolt face is too large , may not be a safety issue , just cosmetic as far as what your primers will look like . Just ask anyone with a DPMS G2 . Or it could be ammo is a little hot .

I believe my posts were talking about firearms designations, definitions , is not AR 10 a firearm designation/definition ? ( or I'm just a stupid fuker ) To make things more confusing here are some points . Though i'm not sure of dates , when all this happened , Rough time lines here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ArmaLite Colt buys the rights to the term AR 15 from the original Armalite Company , brings suit to any other AR company/manufacturer , that they can not use any of the letters "A " or " R" in their firearms designation , they tried to keep everyone from using the Numerals "1" ,"5" or " 15 ' , but failed , so no one could use "AR" 15 , or any combo of the "A" or "R " . Olympic Arms , had called their version of the AR 15 , CAR 15 ( I have one ) & were promptly sued by Colt , ya have to know at the time , their were not many manufacturers of AR rifles at the time & I mean very few . Now at some time there about Armalite was picked up by the present parent company 1996 or something like that . What has me confused & maybe you people here can enlighten me , is , if Colt , who still has the rights to the " AR 15 " designation & sued everyone at the time that they owned the term "AR " in any form , how is it Armalite can use it ? Maybe they are paying for the rights ? You tell me . I was big into firearm dealing at the time , there was no internet , we all only knew what we read in the Gun books , Shot Gun News & at Gun Show where we would talk about this $hit ! & for all of you that stopped reading this thread , go back to sleep .

Foreplay is hell with a Shark . Maybe someone should have told her not to stick her body parts outside the cage when sharks are feeding around you !

The whole point of the AR 10 comparison was to show how new people in to the large frame AR's , are not savvy on the 308 AR's & of course they should say they have a AR10 type AR , but the 308 chambered AR is synonymous to the Armalite AR 10 , so some , in both the manufacturing side & retail sales , use the term to separate it from its smaller framed version the AR 15 . On the term AR 15 , Colt owns the rights to that designation , do you see any Colt owners jumping in & saying thats not a AR 15 , because its not a Colt & it doesn't matter if its Mil Spec or not , its a name recognition . I agree & the only reason I wrote that I had a POS DPMS is because there is so much bias on them , I have never owned a factory built AR & still don't , in any Caliber or any configuration , including the Select fire versions I built & sold , I have got many on trade ins when i was a FFL dealer, never kept one of them . I have built every AR, in every caliber, I have or used to shoot & Been building & repairing them since the seventies . You have never heard me say one rifle was better then another & never will . I have said in many posts here that the proper manufacturer of said AR 308's is required to get the proper component for fitment , though as I have brought up here , their are very slight differences in the 308 chambered rifles , but some incorrect components can cause issues with function , as with just about every firearm out there . To me , they are all the same , just different in ways & as any repairman , be it a car , motorcycle , washing machine , the correct part , by model & manufacturer is needed to keep them in working order . Just don't bring up thet your Particular brand of Firearm is perfection & better then any one else , because I made a living repairing just about every kind or brand out there . Sooner or later they will break & need repair , I don't care who makes them , if they are used enough to get to the service life of said components . Yep !

Plenty of room in the 20 round metal mag. I could go longer in the COL & not have interference issue , but will not at this time . One thing I don't have are 20 rd. PMags, might get a couple just for the 25-45.
-
Metal mags will not have any issues like the PMags & I like Pmags , but with the metal they don't need any alterations to use these bullets . I will be getting some 87 gr. soon to try also . I already am reloading 25-45 & will have some results soon with my loads , I'm not using any of the Powders listed ,that are being used , should be interesting , one way or the other . One thing , my brass came out very pretty from the SS tumbling . Didn't have to trim much , all are @ 1.750"

Hay , just about every on line firearms manufacturer or store , is using the Term AR 10. We had a thread about that here somewhere & I think they use it to designate its difference in Calibers & Frame or Receiver size .Wrong , maybe , maybe not , misleading ,yes . Its really not misleading terminology , people use AR 10 parts on DPMS ( among others ) & DPMS Parts on Armalite AR 10's with no issues , I certainly don't recommend it , as we have recorded dimensional differences with the two Branded BCG's on a Thread on this Forum . Why would you put a DPMS Upper Receiver on a Armalite AR 10 Lower ? Some here have purchased the mismatched set ups & found out real quick ,they don't look right they should have researched or asked about the Cosmetic differences , I have read where they will work , just don't look right . Don't get me wrong , I agree that the proper manufacturer should be used for parts identification , just can't understand why some get so worked up about it . To me its Childish to say my car, gun , bike or what ever is better then yours . Before someone thinks , maybe I should buy a An Armalite AR 10 & I would feel the same way , al I got to say is bull$hit ! I would like to have one just because its another 308 , but I have enough ( yes I said I have enough rifles ) & my POS DPMS rifles work just fine .

I weighed the Rifle yesterday with mounted Scope & no mag , the weight was close to 8# , a little heavier then I thought it would be . Must be the 20" bbl.

I would display one , for a short time anyway , then it would have to go back where it belongs McMillian is out of business ? I don't think so , they may have changed their business model . About Strategic Armory Corps Strategic Armory Corps, LLC was formed in August 2011 to acquire leading companies within the firearms and related accessories industry and develop one of the broadest product offerings. In November 2010 Strategic Armory Corps acquired Special Technologies Group dba AWC Systems Technology, a manufacturer of firearm suppressors and distributor of ammunition. Simultaneous with the formation of Strategic Armory Corps, the group acquired Surgeon Rifles, Inc., a manufacturer of high-end bolt action rifles and proprietary actions. In July of 2013 Strategic Armory Corps acquired ArmaLite, the original “AR” firearms manufacture. Following this acquisition also in 2013, the rifles portion of McMillan USA was acquired as McMillan Firearms Manufacturing LLC, specializing in both hunting and tactical applications. Each of the companies manufactures and sells leading product lines in their niche within the estimated $5 billion annual revenues commercial, US military and law enforcement firearms related industry. Strategic Armory Corps continues to expand its core businesses becoming the “One Stop Shop” for firearms enthusiasts. -
I see some didn't read so well , so I will spell it out , the differences or what part you need for what model or brand would be on its identification , just like a Registration number on a car . When you go to order or buy a part for you car , don't you say what Make & Model & in most cases , year of manufacturer ( you will need that in the Armalite "A" & "B " Models ) So why do people on Forums & much worse on others , give the info on what is what , with a demeaning put down . Why would someone get butt hurt because I called one of my 308ARs an AR 10 , why ? Its like they think they have something special , because the original Manufacturer made it first , WTF that manufacturer is long gone , there is no difference between the Rifles or very very little , except manufacturers & thats where the Parts designation is important , just like a ford or Chevy , sure you have hard core believers that one is better then the other , when in reality , they aren't . Thats the facts . I think that those who think they have a better rifle are in a way pissed because there are so many manufacturers that make the AR in the 308 version & when they bought theirs , it was the only one on the block & now theirs is just another model out there . Its just a rifle , like many many others . What Manufacturer makes or has made the most AR rifles in 308 ? If I made 10 million AR rifles in 308 & had 2 % returns for repair & someone else made 10 thousand & had 1 % returns for repair , which is the better Rifle ? Your first thought is probably not correct . Just my opinion , if you get butt hurt , its your fault . The comparison was hypothetical , as far as cars . You tell me you can't see the two Rifle brands are not nearly identical ? If so What is the difference , a cosmetic line in the rear of the receiver ? You cant really see that till you get real close , not so with cars & trucks .

I have never had to replace any parts with my Lee dies or my Lee 1000 ( that is one of the first ones out ) , but you can not go wrong with RCBS Customer service , I had a adjuster shaft on my 30 yr. old Bullet Sizer that broke & they sent me new one , no questions asked , I even had an a minor Part break on my RCBS Green Machine & if you know anything about this side to side progressive reloader , its old & they sent me the part , I couldn't believe they even had the part .
-
When you compare two almost exactly looking objects to one another & say this is this & this is that , no wonder there is confusion . The comparison between a ford or chevy is not a good comparison here , when you look at it , you basically have two of the same things , when you look at a ford Mustang & a Chevy Corvette , there are major differences in looks , they look nothing alike . Now compare aDPMS LR 308 to a Armalite rifles with the same furniture , whats the difference , a line at the back of the Receivers , thats it . That would be like comparing two exactly the same cars , be it a Corvette or Mustang & both made by different companies , be it Ford or Chevy , the only differences being one has a Spoiler & the other doesn't . They both look exactly alike , use the same Gas , Same Engine ( One might have solid lifters & the other Hydraulic , something you can not even see ) same Tires ( Armalite uses SR25/DPMS Mags ) the only difference in looks , performance , & that one has a spoiler & the other doesn't , but they are made by different Manufacturers . Yes you will need different parts for the two , but both look exactly alike , we will use Corvette for an example of what they look like , now how are you going to tell me they are different , look at the designation badges of who made them , thats it , so it is easy for a person to describe one as the other , till you get to the Spoiler & Solid lifters , & thats what you have to ask , who made what & its easy to say this one needs this & this one needs that , they are both the Fuking same ! With minor & I mean Minor differences . I think there is a cult for the Armalite AR 10 & they keep this up almost like shaming you because you dare to call your 308AR an AR 10 ! I don't have a fish to fry in this , I like them all ( well some Manufacturers are not all that good ) I work on them all & enjoy them all , if they use a large frame , they can be called a AR 10 , if you ask me the Original AR 10 owners should be thrilled that others use this designation .

This is still all spill over with the last so called administration , this is part of their agenda , they used this model to starve the capacity of firearms related companies & Manufacturers of commerce , by refusing dealings with anything related . More of their gun control , anti second Amendment agenda . Maybe you should make a list of the Banks that use this model for business & post it here so we can avoid them . Is PayPal an alternative for some transactions or is there issue with them ? -
This one in the photo has a Dust cover of the same color , i'll have to look , but I may not have any gen 1 's , I have to look now , I have a bunch still in the wrappers . I sorted out 20 more LC that are in the 1.760" class length for forming & through research the trim to length is 1.750" just as a 5.56/.223 .
-
Ah ha , thats an old mag in the photo , how do you know the first gen. or second , for that matter ? I know the Gen 3 have it stamped on it . Can you still use the altered mag for 5.56 , I guess I should have asked it differently , so to be clear .
