  1. This writer has an opinion of this Cartridge. I actually read this quite a while ago , I wasn't going to add it to this Thread , but why not . http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/06/26/25-45-sharps-worst-new-ar-round/

Dropped in Afghanistan , cave complex , had to take care of some Cave Rats , probably pay back for killing an American SF soldier . http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2017/04/13/us-military-drops-massive-bomb-on-islamic-state-in-afghanistan/

  9. Ya , that's really Tacticool , they will sell millions
  10. If he would have complied , he wouldn't be looking at a big payday , like he is now
  11. Its all about timing , pretty much what 98 was talking about in his Sermon , Gas port size matched to Gas system length & also to some extent Buffer Spring ,to keep Bolt locked to for a fraction of a second , not to mention the weight of the Buffer its self ,& to some extent BCG weight , all have an effect on Timing . As most know , if the timing is too long or short , it can cause malfunctions . Armalite made their Gas system to match their Buffer system ,its a balance of pressure ( Gas impulse ) weight & Spring pressure , Its just a Number they came up with for the AR 10 at the time . As long as the Balance of these things create proper timing , the system works , get one out of balance , you will most likely have issues . I believe DPMS made or designed their's differently, to keep Armalites legal team off them , enough difference to to stand apart , use of already plentiful Gas Tube lengths , Receiver Extensions , all from the already plentiful M16/AR15 at the time . You can't argue with results , both Armalite & ( proper ) DPMS systems work , with DPMS LR 308 Rifles , (probably because of price ), have the largest market for the 308 version , also for a couple of other reasons , one , type of Magazines used. Armalite now with the "A " model is real late in that department & definitely cost them some market share of rifles sold . We know they had reasons , but why they waited so long , was a bad decision in my book . If you have a properly balanced system , you should not need an Adj. Gas Block , its the way the systems are designed . You want a little over pressure or what some call Recoil impulse , to make sure the system will function with a dirty system , remember these rifles were originally made for Combat , not the Bench .
  12. I don't want to be down down range of any firearm & have to hope it malfunctions .
  13. At least its capable of two rounds
  14. I can see the long duration friction , but how do they know it is being deformed ? Because they changed their formula & didn't see the same results ? What if it was from the Poly Tips , loosening up & their new formula being harder & they are secured better in the Bullet , ether way they would have accomplished something at long range so it doesn't really does'nt matter , I guess . I agree with them about the Bullet tips on HP Bullets , in my measuring you can't seem to find any brand that are uniform , even SMK's . You can see they are not uniform , my best shooting bullets so far have all been Poly tipped , the Hornady Amax ,but Hornady was designing a long range Hunting Bullet & wanted the HP for expansion, covering the HP up with a Poly Tip makes sense for better BC . Why for a Match Bullet ? If they are adding a Poly tip to the Match Bullet , they are losing the HP design & its stabilizing benefits . Sierra has followed suit with a Poly tipped SMK's , so what is really going on here , why not just FMJ Match Bullets ? Are they saying now that the HP design is not adding any stabilization at long range ? Just seems strange to me how these Bullet manufacturers are shifting around & around .
  15. What are they talking about in respect to " High Velocity " ? 2600 FPS @ Muzzle ,is melting the Poly tip ? Is the 30 cal. 178gr. Bullet flying at high Velocity ? I find that informercial from them a bit deceiving . Don't get me wrong , I like Poly tipped Bullets , I use a lot of them & Hornady is one of my favorite Bullet Manufacturers .
  16. Impressive !
  17. The person who pulled him from his seat was not a LEO ! A Rent a cop ! The whole situation was handled incorrectly , in many ways , including the email the CEO sen out . I hope this guy gets big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

  20. If you are purchasing one of Mark's Rifles , price means nothing & your not even thinking about it .
  21. Good question , I don't remember , I got confusing info on what they call a Carbine , it is really a Mid length . I think they came from Armalite , but look at Raley's corner , he calls it a Mid length Carbine , which that long , It would be . I changed it on my notes & on this thread . I thought it was confusing also , but it was what I found described in print , they don't have a Carbine length , as compared to an AR 15 or DPMS type 308AR's ( 9 3/4 " ) , as far as I know , who am I to argue with Armalite GAS TUBE LENGTH · M-15 rifle – 15-3/16” · M-15 mid length carbine – 11-3/4” · M-15 shorty carbine – 9-3/4” · AR-10 rifle – 15-1/2” · AR-10 mid length carbine – 12-1/16” · All gas tubes: .180 OD and .117 ID
  22. Primer shows a lot of Cupping around the Firing Pin indentation( High Pressure sign ) , the reason its not flattened is because the Case ruptured & pressure dropped inside the case , but not the Chamber . How much were the cases stretching ? Trim to length ? What Sizing Die are you using , SB or FL ? Head space checked lately ?
  23. We have seen a lot of 308AR Barrels like that lately .
