  1. Here is my bird with a new finish. Hope you like it and tell me what you think.
  2. Thanks for posting, very nice.
  3. My neck o' the woods. Welcome.
  4. I was curious to know if anyone here has a 308 AR with this lower? If not, are there any links anywhere that show one being built, fired, etc.? I am interested in building one and was wondering about fit and function of the mags after completion.
  5. Yes, just the standard 2.80 length. Where I get strict is with case length alone. I go between 2.00 and 2.15; no longer than this. A good measurement of case length is, do they fit in the magazine? Sounds a bit relative, but has been a good guide for me, nonetheless. If your bullets are cannelured, that makes it even easier. Just seat the bullet to the cannelure and you're done. (I dont crimp anymore) I start with a medium powder charge and work up from there. Since I have a 16" DPMS 308 now, I use a faster burning powder; like Hodg. H335.
  6. Good choice. I have one just like it. I do not think that it gets any better than that, esp. with the can. High power shooter, light weight and uses Magpul mags!
  7. I have owned 2 RRA LAR-8s. Varget worked great in the 20" barrel.
  8. Will this work on a .308 rifle, like a Bush ORC 308?
  9. I would approach any negative 'gun related' AP report with a heightened level of skepticism.
  10. So, you own a MK12 .308? Do you have any range results? I considered that rifle very closely, but went with the AP4 because of cost limitations. I have the BCM GF charging handle; a definite must have... Welcome aboard, laddie...
  11. Ahhhhh.. Automatic Transmission Fluid.. My favorite
  12. Do you have any measured 3-5 shot groups at 100 yards? I am interested in that rifle because of it's light weight.
  13. Schur, you're the man.. I'm all over that Earth Brown. I am going to follow the same steps that you would normally use for Aluma-Hyde paint, (Pre heating) and doing a couple of coats. If you have any suggestions for patterns, suggested components, which combos to use, I am all 'ears'. Thanks
  14. I would select the REPR. Better ergonomics, gas regulator, etc.
  15. I paid $950 for a DPMS AP4 308 along with 4 Factory Steel Mags and 2 Magpul mags. And a BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle as well.
  16. Tac, I could not find the FDE on Brownells. Do you know if they even make an FDE color?
  17. Thanks TacB. I am going to check that one out. Any idea on how durable the finish is?
  18. I would like to see if you guys have any suggestions on which paint would work best for my DPMS AP4. I want to paint the buttstock, pistol grip and maybe the handguard. I checked Krylon's website, but I wasnt satisfied with their Camo color selection. (Their brown was too dark.) I want a color that's somewhere in between Light tan and Brown. This is a price option for someone who does not want to spend the time (or money) on a Cerakote or Duracoat job. Any ideas, anyone?
  19. The Precision Rifle DVD is the one I am looking forward to. Combines speed and distance shooting into one useful package.
  20. That .. is ...NICE.. I love the Marsh finish
  21. I understand the frustration. Local CU for me. No complaints here, so far!
  22. Hello everyone, I am sellmarkguy and I am new to the 308 AR forum. I am glad that I discovered this site and am already scouring it to get up-to-date on the forum posts. imschur, thanks for the invite. I work in the firearms industry for a company that manufactures optics and night vision. I eat, sleep and breathe the AR platform in 308. Let's face it.... It does it all, and well. I like it, because it's countersniper out to 800 yards, CQB (CQC) out to 7 yards or SDM out to 500 yards, in my opinion, it IS the standard by which all other weapons' systems are judged. GLAD TO BE HERE..
