Now that i think about it if you have to sear on a grill and then put it on a smoker..i dont think your smoker can just be sitting at 190, cause after the 20 mins of searing at 500 and then turn down the temp to 190 the meat is bout 100 degrees intenal and its only maybe another 25 mins till it reaches 132 internal....and the grill temp is still quite high but but going down and just smoking....so I would have my smoker temp high if i have to sear on a charcoal grill and be letting it fall....daaamnn im all mixed up now <lmao> Wash
Hi Stan I just went and looked at your sig....cause i didnt know what it is....so its a new type ar rifle that shoots 7.62....not an old surplus type rifle :) Let me put you at ease.....you can safely shoot 308 ammo in your rifle with no and I repeat no worries! That pressure graph and stats are basically for older type rifles....like really old.....I shoot 308 out of 762 and visa- versa.....there will be no pressure probs ! Hi Guys Me and Char had that prime evil thing going last nite.soo...we started with a 3lb cowboy cut bone in prime rib :) Okie dokie...rub that lil boy down with your rub refridge and then when its time to eat we are gonna do a reverse sear/smoke I think ive posted this before <dontknow> So...our smoker will get to 500 degrees sear each side at 500 for 10 mins on each side...if you smoker wont get there(500)...use your charcoal grill and sear with it after the second side is seared...turn down the smoker to 190 degrees and smoke till internal gets to 132 dgrees pull it off and foil it till ready to carve....medium rare...and just right for two adults :) Wash

I like to keep the indents for the safety and its spring....when you remove the grip those two items seem to go bye bye or the spring gets bent putting on the grip.... extra firing pin and its keeper are good to have...also the extractor and its spring is nice to have too :) Wash
Spaniky...I have never bought an upper of a different caliber /same caliber to go my existing lower...because you by doing this... is that you dont have two rifles...just one rifle and a small pipe club :) Buy a complete rifle...so you have two weapons...not one weapon and a club......really now ...if got a an upper only...it wouldnt be 30 days till you couldnt stand lookin at that upper and getting the rest of it....but thats just me....all my rifles are complete....and ready to use.... :) Wash

OOOOOPS So okay, ive got an 18" and two 16" 308's we shoot steel up to 500 with all three and they all shoot sub moa I dont shoot crap ammo and never ever steel in my 308ar's so ive never had fouling problems at all...none what so ever.....as for recoil we use good comps/brakes on em and im sure if my 125lb Gal can handle these you would have no recoil problems either :D Wash
Hi Spanky ive got 2 16" 308's....but you have the ar15 platform right? so 308 wont work on it. wait a min you do have a ar308?....still doesnt make for cqb though....ive got several 762x39 russian on ar15 platforms and they are okay....what you should look into is the 6.8 upper for your ar15...now you got something....heavy grain bullets going at a blistering speed....its what our troops should have.....only thing is 6.8 is a bout a buck a throw... ;) Wash
