  13. 05.....so do what the brothers have suggested for sure.....my 2cents....you proly have one or two things going on...we have to eliminate the short stroke gas problem first....but you just stated it boogers up on charging.. when you put in the mag release..did you screw the lever down till it almost hits the lower...do the mags rock or feel loose in the magwell? Can you get it to feed by holding the mag a certain way? So off the bolt catch it feeds......But...when you pull back and let fly it fails to feed? Heres what a stock dpms buffer looks like and spring..we gotta start from first base.. also...pull the charging handle back and let the mag catch hold the bolt.. ....then pull on the charging handle and measure to see how much further you can pull the bolt back off the bolt catch? Wash Oh...the inside length of the buffer tube is 7 inches for the spring and buffer pictured here ....is that the tube you have?...and when you installed the mag release did you take a punch or screwdriver and push the mag button down while spinning on the mag release down to the lower? Is your upper/lower fit nice and tight ?
  14. TG....its a satin bead blasted finish on the BA barrel...no your are not even close to the center of uranus....theres prolly a few in front of you ...lol and let me help you with the gas tube lengths...the barrel length has not much to do with the gas tube length until you get into pistol/sbr barrel lengths...like under 12 "....so...there are pistol length gas tubes which you arnt concerned with...then you jump up to carbine gas which can be used on16" barrels or even shorter...it depends on the caliber and how much gas it produces....what you are wanting is rifle length or mid length for your ar308...im partial to mid lengths but im also using it in 16" and 18" barrels...I guess what im saying is no carbine gas tube ...and 18"barrel length doesnt automatically put you in a certain gas tube length and certainly not a carbine length gas tube for an AR308 Wash

    HEY

R2 How ya doin my brother? dont forget to pick me up Wash
  16. Haha no worries Wash, your drift has been coming across crystal clear! I think it's a great looking rail but I would prefer the clamp-screw connection, now that I see how well the SLR mounted up. I still think it would be a good light-duty rail, sparing it any heavy bouncing on a bipod. Frank....yep..I just dont wanna see our crew from Texas get hosed...lol Now you see the how the SLR mounts up...good ! Wash
  17. Mrmac Well I guess im getting so scattered brained I forgot they are on the inside...lol Wash
  18. Frank....now you're catchin my drift....send that fugly thing back to wherever you got it....and if you got it and asked them for the recommendation then they screwd you...send it back...hell it wasnt as cheap as it looks either...I was surprised it cost that much....the lever that they call the switchback that clamps down is bad engineering to begin with...if a handguard doesnt thread down onto the barrel nut and then get some help with set screws/clamping screws...its lacking somewhat .. Wash
