JRoss I took the extractor apart and see it has 2 springs and an O-ring. A smaller spring slips inside the larger spring and the O-ring around the larger spring. Did not know it used 2 springs............... Bingo....we have had some threads on feeding issues and some were guided to look at the extractor...only to find out it had too many springs along with the doughnut made the extractor not work properly ....but you got upper problemos...Oh did I say permatex is awesome?...lol you gooed up the gas block ...come on man...who are those morons? give it up Wash

You will like it...and the price is awesome Wash -
those are pretty pricey barrels lol heres the background at least this was true a couple of years ago.... For the record, we long ago entered into a vendor partnership with Lothar-Walther, whereas they produce blanks to our LaRue prints, blanks that are finished here, up to including headspacing by us (our 7.62 barrel extensions being designed and built by us), gas holes added here, etcetera - becoming LaRue / L-W barrels

05... Did ya get ahold of unclemoak? I think forum members might get a discount? Ya know theres quite a few folks that have problems with N.i.b. and youve seen it firsthand ....if it were me I would get a chrome bcg or a black nitride finish...theres not a damn thing wrong with the black phosphate or black nitride finish. The chrome bcgs are offered by fulton arms...they are dpms bcgs .... I have a couple of nitride bcg's and some chrome DPMS bcg's too......neither of which has given me any problems Wash if you want a chrome bcg then go here http://www.fulton-armory.com/boltcarriergroupcompletetitanincludesboltcomplete.aspx

Just built one using the BA....I dunno what the deal was but I had to clean the barrel many times to get the crud out of it....good shooter though Wash
-
Mrmac thats it but if the deal is still on its cheaper than that...get ahold of Vance at Mech Armor and see if the rough justice group buy from our forum still can be had....its a hell of a trigger and their charging handle rocks too! sure it will fit not a problemo Wash

Jross might have to pay for the high end GB since you need to stop the bleeding http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=57_103_105&product_id=127 and I would buy it right from them so if you blow thru it you can go to the source with warranty Wash no bushing for that tiny gas port

05 here you go..get ahold of Dave he is on our forum http://www.dwilsonmfg.com/store/c5/AR10_Parts.html unclemoak is his name here

Take your bcg out and does the bolt rotate easy in the carrier ? remove extractor look for metal and lets have a pic of the spring setup under extractor. heres another place that some folks are having prbs 08-06-2015, 7:37 PMDon't get the Ares Armor Nickel Boron Bolt, I don't know if its a headspace issue within the carrier but the cam pin becomes stuck after only 10-20 rounds to the point where it jams up the entire rifle, and the only fix is to take it all apart and clean it....And no its not the ammo I tried Hornady, Winchester and Aguila all seem to dirty the BCG to the point of failure...Wash
-
Yep well im not helping much lol....okay so looks like your mag is up where it needs to be...your bolt is behind the catch if i see it correctly...went and compared one loaded round of mine in a metal mag...and your bullet and my bullet are setting just about the same although from the pic it looks like your bullet is too low. Im thinkin its your ares nib bcg.......any way to try another bcg? Wash
-
didnt work for me just upload each pic dont zip
-
We need a pic of the bolt held open by the bolt catch with and without a mag...with a cartridge and without one. If you cant even get to the point of feeding when you pull back the charge handle...something is very strange....sounds like your mags are sitting too low in the lower...did you hold the mag in different positions while trying to charge? is the mag tight or loose?...take out your bcg and take it apart...look for shavings...under the extractor too...lets see the spring setup under the extractor...does the bolt/cam move nicely? and you said the first 10 rounds ran okay.......inspect your bcg for shavings and lube it up Wash
-
So what happens when you load one shell in the mag and then fire it? try different mags too Wash
-
Im sorry sheesh I mean the bolt catch...duh....well..I just went and looked at 3 of my ar'308's...they all have a dpms car buffer /spring and they all pull back off the bolt catch a good 3/8 of an inch backwards to where it stops in the buttstock....so does it still feed off the release of the bolt catch, but not when you pull the charging handle back?...lets see some pics Wash
