Does anyone know of a member or company on here that will machine a custom gas block for me? I need two. Both are to correct for the bore height difference in Armalite rifles so that sights will be same plane between receiver and gas block. I have the height differences, and would be willing to provide an Armalite gas block if needed. I've looked around, and can not find risers that will accommodate the difference. I believe if someone was to make an AR10 gas block to correct for the height difference, they'd sell. But am willing to pay for just one. The bore height difference is 0.398 for the AR10A4C. I am aware of the sights made to compensate. But if you want to use Deuck Defense RTS, you need a riser or a gas block that will put them in the same plane. Otherwise, you're stuck using an extended rail, which might as well be pistol length site radius. Also, I'm not willing to go to a floating hand guard to gain the same plane, but rifle length, sight alignment. I've emailed Deuck about manufacturing a raised version of their front sight. Barry replied right away that they would love to, but are buried in orders and at capacity for making them. So a new version is out for now. A new gas block would solve everything, and be universal for all AR10 owners. HELP!

Is this riser 0.400" +/-???

My "handguard system" is a Magpul MOE. So I need the gas block bore height the same. A riser is whats called for. By 0.400"

So you're saying I could simply at a riser to the front sight and correct the problem? According to Armalite guy I would need a riser that would add 0.398". Just to save time, know of any risers that height or damn close? I think it's a little ridiculous I have to add a riser at all. Just MHO. One more thing to add. It would cost more, but I'd really rather have the gas block swapped.

They (Magpul) needs to make PMags for the AR10 and just be done with it.

I love my AR10. The only thing that miffs me is that the gas block bore height is lower than the rail height on the receiver, so my Deuck Defense sights won't work. I have to have the gas block changed out for an aftermarket piece. Had I been aware of the difference I would have had it changed when I had the mods done at the armorer. That's my bad though. Maybe Armalite Guy can explain the reason for the lower rail height on the gas block? Other than than, I LOVE MY AR10. Tack driver, and I mean it. But with all the mods I did, I would order parts from them next time and just build it. The AR10A4 factory trigger is awesome as well. Smooth, crisp, no creep that I notice. Awesome.

Wait. I thought you wanted T-Shirts???? The company that does mine has a 25 shirt minimum. It's about $150.00 for the set up initially. But then re-orders are just the cost of the shirt. We get Haines Beefy Tees (which last YEARS, I have some from when I opened my shop 8 YEARS ago. They're just grey now and not so much black). You can mix sizes too (ie: 3 SM, 5 M, 10 L, 3 XL, etc) in one order. Even mix colors, as long as the logo is the same. If you pre-sell the shirts, and collect the money, the initial "buy in" is much less.

See if you can get the Socialist Republic of Illinois to allow that too.

I thought about both of these. But decided on .45acp. I have an HK USP, and reloading for both with one set of dies is better in my book. The SOCOM is a hammer though.

So, I find that I'm in need of a new gas block for my AR10. I bought a set of Dueck Defense RTS and installed them on my AR10. With my ACOG it's a tack driver, but I couldn't get the sights to print at all. I did the old "look down the bore at a target and then check the sights" trick. The sights were WAY off. I couldn't believe this. A check of their site looked like they couldn't be used on an 7.62 platform. But The article I read showed Barry using them on one. An email to DD was responded to by Barry himself! He let me in on that Armalite has a lower bore height gas block rail than standard, and that compounded the problem with the sights being on a 45 degree angle. Sooooo, I need a new gas block. It's not really being used as a gas block anymore, just a mount for sights and the delta ring. So I'm looking for a light weight, well made gas block in .750 through bore. Rail mount on top, and maybe on the bottom, but it has to be clamp style. Any suggestions?

Hey! That's the one I got. 10 business days from order to my hands. I'm sure the Socialist Republic of Illinois had something to do with it even taking that long since it was Illinois to Illinois. I will say this, if I ever want another, I'm buying an upper from Armalite, and then just a lower receiver and filling it with my goodies. I was all set to put a Geiselle trigger in there too, but I ACTUALLY LIKE the stock trigger Armalite supplies. So all I have is the stock stock left over as I replaced it with the Magpul UBR. +1 Lifetime customer for Armalite.
