Are you dead set on a long heavy barrel? Your gun can probably shoot an inch at 100 with a nice trigger installed, or close to. I'd say buy a nice trigger, free float rail, and shoot it. Both those mods will be beneficial even if you still want to swap barrels. There's guys in here shooting those medium ranges with 16" and 18" barrels easy.

There was a thread about them recently. Someone in here was doing some testing. I've watched a bunch of ballistic tests and they seem like they make an effective bullet as oppose to the gimmicky junk like RIP ammo.

Since there's a pile of matrix builds in the works right now thanks to Chris, we ought to have a matrix forum, or change the Ruger to ruger/Matrix, we have already identified and solved a few tech issues.(bolt catch, takedown spring, pin length) They ought to be consolidated so people can find them.

There have been a few oddball builds started recently. Even came up in the podcast. Might be a good idea. Maybe modify the "30 cal AR platform" Forum to include all big frame variants?

SFP out of stock...FFP still kickin. The deal Was posted on slickguns, but only the SFP link. People probably don't realize both are on sale. Once word gets out they will probably disappear. I jumped on this matrix deal just to build a cheap carbine, and it's turning into a pretty expensive build.

Was poking around, and both 1st and 2nd focal plane scopes are available for the price. For some reason the SFP one is showing as $699 but it drops in the cart.

Need some 30mm QD rings. Hanvt done the math yet, but the gun has a raised SPR rail so I want the scope laying right down on top nice and low. 1 piece mounts are going to be too high. So far I'm lookin at: Larue Warne Tally AD ARMS. Warne are about half the price of the others and get good reviews. Any rings I'm missing?

Even better. Honestly I'd rather second. Reviews say the FFP reticle gets tiny at 1x. I would have grabbed it either way. Just dope it for 1x and 6x and GTG. I cant afford it, but I don't think they will last long and I won't get another shot at an optic that nice. Time to sell some more stuff lol Edit..yup, SFP.
