never shoot my old pimped out mosin so Id like to sell it to fund a pocket pistol. yea...when they got cool and started costing $30/$40 I stopped buying. have they come back to realistic prices? it's fricken canvas glued to a slab of rubber by kids earning a nickel a day.

Gabby is a good example. most people didn't even know what/who they were running from. just "away from the bangs" are you sure you can make that shot from distance with a rush of people around you bumping you? that whole incident happened fast. no time to combat roll into a good position. you hear shooting in a mall. you think TERRORIST!! you see a brown guy in a funny hat with a gun yelling at everyone an decide to save the day....and shoot some poor bastard trying to find his family. LEO have a pretty good chance of not getting in trouble for shooting the wrong folks. average Joe has no such protection, and will also be held up as an example of why citizens shouldn't be armed.

my first duty is to my family. that means keeping them safe, and also means keeping myself safe and able to support them. I actually run through these scenarios every time I have my kids at the mall, or park, or any public place. I always look for exits and cover. every time. I look around constantly. I make mental notes of the guys who look fit and groomed and could be military. I plan to stay as low key as possible until we get out. I'm not a sheepdog. I'm ok with that. if an obstacle gets between us and the door ill deal with it as best I can, regardless of what it it.

I was somewhat involved in that shenanigans. we were servicing the bank in that walmart. I watched the guy walk out with the gun and sit in the stolen car. he was watching me back, and then took off across the parking lot. the Walmart people finally came outside and I told them where he went and showed them the car. I'm assuming that's where he loaded the rifle. we dipped out after that and then there were cops all over.

I can imagine some hood gun store helping shady people be shady. I recently read about one up in VA that has a suspicious ratio of criminal guns being traced back to them. those places need to be burnt to the ground figuratively and literally. the problem is the precedent that the grabbers will seize and twist against the good guys. once lost, those inches are all but impossible to get back. that's why 2nd amendment advocacy needs a zero compromise approach.
