No sooner do I post that I'm perfectly happy with my cheapo kershaw knives, and I find a deal on a ZT 0566. Stupid knives. This is what happens when I'm happy with the guns and the mountain bike for the moment. Have to find something to throw money at :(

I have a spare ACS and I was just thinking about listing it for sale. For the heck of it I decided to toss it on my SPR build (currently wearing a lmt sopmod) well, the ACS stayed and the lmt went in the parts box. I really love that stock.

The ACS and ACS-L are exactly the same aside from the battery tubes. You can even swap the battery tubes of the ACS for the flat plates on the -L. I have both and was running them with 1 batt. Tube each. You can run the ACS naked with no tubes and it would weigh less than the -L version, but you would see the slots the plates hook into. There's really hardly any difference in weight between the two.

That's purdy!! I can't stop looking at nice fixed blades now. Almost pulled the trigger on one today.

The way things are now, you never know how justified that investigation is that you are helping. My faith in our entire legal system is such that unless I know EXACTLY what is going on, i'm not saying anything. I'm not going to help someone get railroaded for doing something I might possibly agree with, regardless of it's legal interpretation.

Nope. It was real. Had play between the 2 halves. I guess it wasn't TOO bad, but that stock is suppose to be rock solid so I wasn't interested in a sloppy one. Feels like it should now.

I got a second hand UBR from ARFCOM. damn thing wiggled so much I assumed it was a fake, but the seller seemed legit and offered to take it back. Said it had always felt that way. After some photos sent to magpul and a short phone conversation, they asked me to send it in. sure enough, a week later a brand new UBR showed up with a sticker pack, and a note saYing they didn't know how that happened and thanks for sending it in. all this right in the middle of the boulder air drop and the LEO mag deal so i'm sure they were slammed. good people.

A good chunk of the kershaw line is in the $25 range. I had a blackout for years until I lost it. Went right out and bought another. it gets shave sharp when I occasionally have it cleaned up. Stays that way for a long time. Gets used every single day for minor stuff like thin cardboard and ziptie seals. Occasionally harder stuff like cutting 5 gal bucket tops open or wire safety seals. Been thinking of upgrading to a blur, but it's not really necessary. if I wanted to drop some coin on something blingy, id probably keep it KAI and buy a zero tolerance knife.

Check out MAGS EFX A1, and VLTOR rifle modstock too. The EFX is A1 only. The VLTOR can go A1 or A2. Can also be mounted on a carbine buffer tube. I looked at the RRA stock but it looks like it's A2 length only. I had a ARFX and I liked it on my 14.5 AR, but it was too light for my .308. Made it feel nose heavy. Lots of options out there. My modstock is pretty darn light.

I figure a micarta grip upgrade costs about as much as this thing is selling for. mine lives in my mountain bike. I emailed them after I got mine and asked about the price discrepancy between the two "tactical" knives that had very similar specs. They replied that it was an error in data entry. They didn't specify which price was the error but neither one has been updated.
