  1. Poverty trumps pleasure. Picked up some work tonight till 230am so My day is wrecked :(
  2. I was under the impression ASA is building big boy ARs now as well. They released pics on a local forum a while ago. Not sure if they are listed for sale yet.
  3. Never say anything.....until you have a lawyer. Every class I've ever taken involving firearms hammered on this. If you end up taking a ride, so be it. that badge is not your buddy, and the dirtbags sitting across from you in court don't give a crap about right or wrong, just the win. Even if the judge is on your side, he has to make a ruling based on the case that is presented. The Miranda rights should be revised to say nothing you say will help you in a court of law, but can be picked apart and taken out of context to damage you.
  4. I broke mine in with a few boxes of M80 and a can of crusty Indian surplus :p
  5. I've had 2 DPMS uppers on my Fulton lower. First one was that silly hi rider model, but it fit perfect. I sold that upper and bought a A3 and it has a tiny wiggle. Most people might not even notice, but it's my gun so it drives me crazy. I only mention it to show that all brand X uppers may not be a perfect fit every time. Id imagine there might even be more variation in the smaller manufacturers unless you are paying alot. Idea! DPMS loose upper guys....lets strip our uppers and start mailing them to each other till we all find one that fits tight! :p Also...bubbasks...please stop posting pics of that rifle. I'm trying very hard to keep mine black, and that gorgeous paint job makes it very difficult.
  6. My buddy has wanted a 308 for a while. Decided to look around on gun broker for xmas. Found a guy with 2 LAR8s who lived in the same city as his brother. Had his brother give him a call. They decided to each buy one. Ordered the 26th, should be here at the FFL Monday. Don't know the exact model, or price, but he had said in the past he wasn't going to pay over $1400. Seems like a much better option than waiting a year, even if you pay a little more.
  7. I had some tentative plans to hit 3pts range with my dad in law....but desert destruction is always more fun...
  8. Id thin if 3-30x was feasible while keeping the clarity at an acceptable level....the proven manufacturers would all have one for sale. Optics are an exercise in tradeoffs. You really caNT have everything, and you certainly can't have it for $400. Id spent that cash on a nice Nikon or Burris.
  9. Sale at damage industries. Look like PRI copy. Worth a shot for $10 http://damageindustriesllc.com/product/muzzle-brake
  10. Yup. No problems with the dynacomp. put a Timney 4# in there. Looking forward to getting a week day off.
  11. That rifle looks beastly George. Nice job. I'm running the same barrel. Finally put a nice trigger in and bought some decent ammo to see what I can do.
  12. That sounds pretty shady.
  13. As a graduate (with honors) of the caveman gunsmithing academy.....I vaguely recall having to use my delicately calibrated rubber mallet to get my RA barrel seated.
  14. Standard safariland duty holster and belt.
  15. Got it. I'll get some pics up when I get a sec. First thing...con...the coating isn't great. It has some small blems on the edge of the spine right out of the box. I don't think it will hold up real well. The YouTube reviews I found of this knife, it was uncoated stainless. Maybe they should have left it that way. ..this thing is a beast. The spine is thick and it's heavy. Should have no problems prying or chopping. It came very sharp. The handle fits nice And is grippy. Very solid feeling overall. Clean laser engraving on the blade. The sheath is really nice. Soft leather. Joker logo on the front. stitching looks good. Overall..way happy for what I paid. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-GjNP4_zRj0E/UrJr8p8_k4I/AAAAAAAAAG0/Fyfd4Z6K3qA/s400/2013-12-18%25252020.34.17.jpg?source=androidclient https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-MluQTdk-n-Y/UrJsD4z31fI/AAAAAAAAAG8/f6oD-nAqdis/s400/2013-12-18%25252020.31.35.jpg?source=androidclient
  16. Nice upsell lol.
  17. If only I could shoot enough to justify a mag loader.....
  18. Read an article about a local high end mountain bike manufacturer. They would buy the tubing and raw material from China. Cut and shape it (hydroforming) here in AZ. Send it back to China to be welded and painted. The frames came back for final assembly and then shipped off to customers. Somehow that was cheaper than doing it all here.
  19. I wouldn't care if I knew the switcharoo was part of the deal....but it never fails i'm anxiously watching the tracking and right when i'm about to get my stuff, the handoff adds a day or two. Just happened to me today for my shiny new knife.
  20. I'm sick of my FedEx stuff getting handed off to usps last minute
  21. Gotcha. I'm curious to see what they retail at after SHOT. I was about to pull the trigger on a becker when I saw this deal and jumped on it. Might still buy the Becker after xmas and my credit cards cool off lol.
  22. Def. high at that msrp...but they seem to be over $80 anywhere I find them. I'm new to this, so aside from being more difficult to sharpen what are the down sides to 440c? most of what I've read gives it a decent rating compared to other common steels. (I have zero interest in exotic stuff)
  23. I noticed the knife I got (cm83) is listed on optics planet for $60ish. The other knives in the same category, with almost identical specs (cm77 etc) are double and triple the price. On the international knife sites I've found the CM83 is generally priced the same as the other knives in it's little group. I emailed them to see if there was a reason for the price difference. If not, that the knife might even be a good score at $60.
