originally i had a cheapo 4x scope on my AR with a clark customs carbon FF tube. i saw some guys 3gun setup with a red dot mounted 45 off so i bought a cheapo rail section and a cheapo red dot and set it up. it worked fine for plinking but i decided to man up and buy a nice optic. Eotec went on and the other stuff came off. i love the Eotec but i found that sometimes the reticule gets washed out in the sun, and i dont like relying completely on batteries so i scored a deal on some MBUS. problem i had was that the rail sections on the tube were taller than the receiver. it looked ugly and was hard to zero. then i found PRI and all was well. the PRI tube is almost the same size as my clark tube. the rail is contured for the round tube and matches the receiver height almost perfect. also looks absolutly sweet. ordered up a 8.5" and a few 3" sections. i still wanted a 45 offset rail in case i go back to a scope because i like that setup. also mounted one for a flashlight (and to cover some holes lol) and may mount the last one underneath so i can mount a bipod or grip. i think it came out pretty nice anyway. i will say i didnt get much help from PRI before ordering. sent a few questions and received short answers or links to the products i was already looking at. i do so hate to bother companies i want to throw money at but a little extra effort would be nice. the viper series is made in the Philippines. not sure about the Razor line but i think thats a bit out of the price range you are looking in. FFP is pretty useless unless you are shooting competition or killing people on foreign shores...but its fun to practice ranging with it. the weaver has it for less than the price of other scopes without it so i gave it a shot. i bring the glass/mount to work on slow days and range stuff out the window lol.

i took one of his classes with some guys i work with. that guy was awesome.

never heard anything but good about Vortex and the no questions asked warranty is a huge selling point. i went with a weaver tactical.(super slam on steroids) really nice Japanese glass, dual color ilum, FFP, matching mil ret/mil turrets, and with the rebate it only cost me 630 out the door from midwayUSA. i plan on doing a review of it soon as i get some time to sit and write. another option might be the SWFA SS line. they seem to run with the big boys at half the price. i would love one but they were way out of my range for the 5-20x

im pretty embarrassed. according to that quiz my guy is rick perry...however in the unlikely event either "rick" got the nomination i just wouldnt vote. rather see bammer stay than either of those two. im all for paul though. and for tripledeuce

since this got bumped..in case someone is looking..gearhog has a vortex crossfire 4-16 mil ilum for 119 today.

its 71 right now. had a nice AM bike ride and been out working on the back yard in shorts and no shirt. had to put the pool pumps back together and run them since i "winterized" them a bit early. <3 AZ winter.

i really like this mount. played with friends Larue and ARMS mounts and this one is way nicer.

thats usually what shops will tell you when they feel like padding their profit margin.

you might want to clarify. there is tho old "really high" rail.....and then the old and new low rail. some people say high rail when they mean the higher of the two low rails....pretty confusing.

lol. its all good. bumps in the road. thanks for the well wishes. watching my little girl open presents on her first xmas makes all the other stuff seem pretty inconsequential.

thurs night noticed the underside of my carport got wet and started falling down...friday morn walked out the door for work at 545 to a flat tire. scrambled to get the wife/baby up to take me to work to find her car was below E with fuel light on and power steering pump screaming. added fluid...got gas...had a 13.5 hour day at work. when she came to pick me up her car was running like crap. spent all day sat fixing my flat and her car. no luck with her car so im assuming she clogged an injector(which i cant really afford to replace) wake up late sat evening and wife is violently ill with a 102 temp. shes preggo so rush to the ER and sit untill 7AM sun morning. hit the relatives house for xmas cheer at 11 am. im fantasizing about those sad lonely hollidays of 4 years ago.

looks like you either get super lucky or throw money away. i can see someone sitting in front of the screen for hours bumping that penny every 60 seconds hoping to be the one....only to end up loosing by a penny, being charged $150 for absolutely nothing..and then shooting all of his coworkers in a fit of rage and self loathing after a 12hr standoff with police. sign me up :)

i think the problem will be putting something so intangible and personal into a format everyone will understand. and if you do manage to create something you are satisfied with, will others see it with the same "eyes" since they dont have the experience itself for reference.
