I work in armed security. I have pretty much been doing it in some form since I got out of the army in 04. I am currently employed and certified by 3 companies in two states and work with a ton of other "trained security personnel". im not claiming to be a SME, but I probably have more experience with "certified armed security" than most people. At best, I can think of only a hand full of the people I have worked with who I would want armed around my kids. Certifying a few teachers would probably be disastrous for everyone. It takes more than classroom and a range trip. There is a mindset that needs to be drilled in and that takes years. If you arent already an EDC type of person you will most likely leave a gun somewhere or fail to secure it or break one of those basic rules. There is a level of awareness that you cant teach. This automatically rules out teachers in several states. Armed certification in any state is a joke anyway. Like the military...its based on the lowest common denominator. Unlike the military...thats it. You passed. You are legal. see you at the range next year. Bring 60 rounds. Generally speaking the military at least forces you to continually train. Now this whole HIRE A VET movement? WTF. people really romanticize this former occupation. As ive said before, some of the shittiest people ive ever known were vets. lets not automatically use that as criteria. A large majority of deployed military personnel didnt do anything but play spades and smoke overseas. quite a few of the folks that did alot over there probably dont have the mindset to guard a school. (Or be a cop) the ones in between are a great fit for the job but you need a way to dig them out. Now its coming out that there were 4 SOs "setting up a perimeter" while kids were being killed. to serve and protect is becoming history in our brave new world . Im guessing LE leadership is stationing its duds in these low action positions so they can keep the competent officers on the street. The issue needs to be taken seriously. Throwing minimum wage guards at the gate, or arming that one teacher who likes to shoot dirt piles in the desert and has a sweet AR isnt going to help. The problem is societal and its not going to improve. Its just not. You can call it mental health but thats just a lable slapped on symptoms of thr underlying condition. We are failing. We are circling the drain. We are in that phase of the cycle that leads to massive oppression of liberty and we are doing it to ourselves.

I cant think of any good reason...up to and including my life...to hide while children are being slaughtered. Not even taking into consideration that he was armed, and was there for the sole purpose of protecting them.

Some 3M window weld might work better. We use to make solid motor mounts by pouring that stuff into the spaces in the factory urethane units.

We peaked and are rushing towards the trough. Its an inevitable cycle...like climate change. We can tweak and poke, but the result is just shifted around by a few years. I firmly believe our technology has far outpaced our societies ability to handle it. We have created an entire generation of narcissists with social media....and it is spreading both directions. I see 40+ year olds all over facebook posting pictures of themselves in pathetically obvious attempts to gather likes and compliments. Those pics are filtered far past the point of even looking like the person, yet we all high five each other on the fake poop because its our turn to collect some likes next. Its fraking disgusting to me and its exactly why this crazy stuff is ramping up exponentially.

I chose my daughters (2nd grade) charter school because it has strict access control and is small. They are trying to combine with a charter high school next year and move to a bigger open campus. just told my wife to start shopping around because nope. @jtallen83 After I acid etched in the logo and ser numbers I just hit it with that nasty paint stripper spray and wire brush if I remember right. It was already pretty beat up when I started. I got a smoking deal on it used and in rough shape. Edit to add some update pics. I think it looks pretty mean. I smeared some yellow mustard on it and let it sit to get some patterns etched in. After that I used boiling vinegar to rust blue it. I might give it another dose to get it a little darker.

I am a fan of the hoon-glass :) I need to snap a new pic though. I got bored of the polished finish so I forced a nice patina with apple cider vinegar.

My company issues everything and they use to be pretty strict, but ive slowly been "improving" things and they dont seem to care. Started using my own belt that fit better, added a better mag pouch, and my little OKC fixed blade...and then put some very non regulation patches on my vest and nobody has batted an eye. I still yank them off and pull the knife if corporate people ever show up just in case. Knife thread: OKC XM2 in the vest. easy to scoop out but its protected between the pouches so it cant really get bumped out and fall. My ZT was getting beat up so I bought this guy to abuse. Low maintenance, holds an edge and easy to sharpen. Its pretty thick and heavy duty. I wouldnt like it for edc but its a great work knife. OKC Nona on the belt. Low profile. Tucks nicely behind the holster. Doesnt interfere with draw at all but easy to get to. Doesnt bother me at all when seated. This combo is working out really well.

Does the inforce lock in as well as the TLR? I was really looking at one of these but decided to just pony up for custom. Buddy has one and he likes it.

I bought one of those mossy barrels for a build for a buddy. Nothing wrong with it. Probably used by quite a few factory guns. melonite 1:7 if I remember right. Id scoop one myself but im looking for a 14.5.

Bet its one of those Mossberg barrels. Finish looks the same and price is pretty close.

I wasnt at shot....so no. The internet is an amazing place though, full of discussions between vintage rifle nerds and brownells reps. I have no real interest in this rifle but the discussions are interesting and educational. Other that appearance these dont share much with the originals. Brownells is already looking at changing the FSB and grip based off of the early feedback they are receiving....so id hold off on ordering until the 2.0 comes out.

No bumpstocks for the patriots? I didnt even know it was superbowl weekend until thursday...and didnt know who was playing until Saturday because people kept arguing about it at work. If you want to read some good stuff....go to the mass state police facebook page and find the post where they warn people to turn in their bumpstocks. About 2K posts of people telling them to fk off, calling them traitors, and daring them to come take them. Its a beautiful thing.
