Blows my mind that this isn't SOP.

Slippery slope I suppose. We're all fighting the same enemy. Wish more people understood that. My political philosophy is bouncing between anarchy and nihilism at the moment, so I'm down with flooding the streets.

Trouble for guns no matter who wins election

I just got my P22 put back together too! -
Looks like the left is finally getting woke. While I think the anger is misplaced, I love seeing all these socoal media posts of special snowflakes buying guns to fight the racist fascist Trump supporters and encouraging their peers to do the same. Decades of globalist indoctrination has worked too well, and it's coming back to bite them. Once you truly understand the purpose of the 2A, there's no going back. Welcome to the fold little crybabies. Gun up.

Irony...fedgov calling the Kansas law passed by the elected representatives of the people an unconstitutional loophole...while trying to regulate firearms with the internal revenue service

Which gas block for iron sights on a Sportical height upper?

My buddy has the surefire version. It's useless as a weapon light (how surefire markets it) and due to the lens angle only semi useful as a flashlight, but I found if you flip it to the bottom of your wrist and set it on low it's awesome for checking IDs! Cool at your price. Pretty silly at surefire price. If I could rig a watch to the same band it would be cool for club gigs.

Which gas block for iron sights on a Sportical height upper?
blue109 replied to Mr_Roboto's topic in Building a .308AR
My first 308 was one of those. I considered a ton of options to make it into something I liked, but in the end i just sold the whole upper and built one exactly how I wanted it. Unless you are running a high power optic with a huge objective, there is no advantage to that upper. There is an aero upper for $150 over in the classifieds....just sayin ;) -
Which gas block for iron sights on a Sportical height upper?

There are 3 DPMS standards. The older DPMS height (DPMS HIGH) the newer height that they swapped to in 09 (DPMS LOW) which is the same height over bore as a AR15. you appear to have the 3rd option, the Target height upper. You are pretty much screwed if you want irons. I don't think anyone ever made a front sight that will line up with that one. DPMS made a quad rail that would match that reciever but it weighs alot and might be hard to find. Best option is to buy a stripped normal height upper, or just run the scope -
I can get that measurement to 0 and still be off if both front wheels are turned the same way. I was using the long ones on the outside to get the fronts oriented the same as the rears. I think it's decent. Drove around a little and it's not twitchy or pulling me around. Well see how the drive to work goes. New issue is the plug holes are so full of dirt I can't get a socket on them lol. Worked 6 days this week so I'm going to wait till next weekend for that fun.

My dad's house in norcal. The doe will come right up and take carrots from him. There's a huge buck that comes up the driveway now and then and stares him down and growls lol. One of my friends wife took a small buck last week at 430 yds here in az. She was pretty stoked. Said it was the longest shot she ever took. I was impressed.

Is this an actual DPMS branded upper or a different brand? And if it's an off brand did it specify high or low rail. I ask because you said "sportical style" If it has that railed gas block that is lower than the top rail you might be screwed. YHM made a special front sight for those but I don't think they do anymore. Maybe DPMS. most people just replace them with a rail height gas block or a flip up sight gas block. If you have a DPMS upper, or a "low" height off brand upper, any AR15 height gas block rail/sight will be good to go. -
Tires are already cooked from letting it go so Iong so I want to fix more crap before I give it the final alignment. It definitely needs to be on the ground under weight to check it. It moves alot when it's lifted up. Found some long 2x4s in the shed and they are helping me eyeball it. Been circling the block after every adjustment lol. Getting to be a pain but it feels and looks pretty good at the moment. Doing plugs and wires and rad hoses now. I only paid $800 for this thing and rockauto has stupid cheap clearance parts for it so it's turning into a nice little beater.

Good point....could go either way. Electronic trigger block when in the presence of tyrants could be a bad thing

Just swapped in new tie rods and sway bar links. Any tips for setting toe? I'm eyeballing and using a string and a line on my driveway but wondering if any of you OGs know any tricks? i don't want to pay for an alignment if I can get it close because I'm doing control arms soon and I'll be pulling it all apart for that.

Obummer/DOJ issue "smartgun" guidelines
blue109 replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Voluntary....for now. Hope nobody takes that bait and sets a standard -
In the video he says the safe and semi operation are 100% mechanical and will function with no electronics. Only the 3rd setting uses the electronics and the extra safeties. Obviously just a toy and needs refinement, but I like where this is going and would bet it's the future. Electronic assist can overcome mechanical limitations. Disclaimer: most here know my girls are simple and solid. I'm not really into fancy or trendy. I use the same 2 stocks and rail systems on all of them. I refuse to take the milspec trigger out of my nightstand AR. Doubt I'd ever buy something like this however.... I'm sure it REALLY pisses off libs and punkass alphabet agencies so I'm 100% behind its development.

I approve of this...because f√¢k you ATF and NFA.
