I'd be willing to bet a $5 breakfast that most Americans can do a lot more damage, maiming, and killing, with a '69 Cadillac and a full tank of gas, than those same people could with an AR-15 and thirty 30-round magazines.
And who will be determining that proficiency? I can guarantee that 80% of the shooters on this forum wouldn't be happy with the safety/competency evaluation I do on them. And that's another shooter who would rather see everyone armed than arbitrary requirements agreed to by Chucky Schumer and Lindsey Graham.
