  1. And in another breath Ayoob has said "It doesn't matter what modifications have been made to the firearm. If a person is justified to use lethal force they are justified to use lethal force." More than one person that has worked with him has said he is just a writer trying to make deadline.
  2. I'm portable. Same tetherless system used by feds and our military for training.
  3. Not so easy without chili anymore.
  4. Find me some referrals for simulator rental up in your area…as soon as that damn thing is paid off, I'm back in the spending game.
  5. I know you're in Cali but night vision and one of these: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2010/03/02/the-no-country-for-old-men-suppressed-shotgun/
  6. I'm more inclined to believe this is a bad thing for LWRC than a good thing for Colt. Kinda like Harley Davidson buying Buell…QC down the toilet hole. Unlike one guy in the comments section, I owned a "green label" Colt HBAR. My pre-Remington Bushmaster Dissipator shot circles around it. Ever since then, Colt has seemed more like a label for gun owners…like Gucci or Calvin Klein for fashionistas.
  7. Great Midwest shoot coming up!
  8. Sweet!
  9. Any shooting or taking it down would detract from the value…those collectors are totally anal about it. Anything goes wrong and he has a shooter. For me, everything is a shooter. Blam the crap out of it!
  10. Gave our daughter a Browning 1911-22, not long after they first came out. The inner function is identical except for the magazine disconnect safety (a protrusion off the magazine release blocking the trigger without the mag) and the barrel is blowback…even though field stripping is identical to the full-size 1911. For half that price you could get a Llama in .32 or .380 and have a little more oomph. Better yet, you could have one of many newer and reliable 9mm pocket pistols on the market, made in the good ol' USA. Carrying any 1911 design in Condition 2 (round chambered, safety off) is a recipe for disaster IMO. They were made to be carried Cocked & Locked. Carried my Springer like that for nearly a decade. I've been carrying striker-fired pistols for the past 8 years, no active safeties. Point-N-BAM interface…much nicer. Looked at dude's Kahr CW40 today. About the same size as the 1911-22, twice the weight, ten times the punch. They make a 9mm version also. Still a couple of hundred less than the 1911-22.
  11. ES=extreme spread SD=standard deviation Whoops…already answered. The smaller the numbers on both, the better. Those are VERY good numbers! Even factory match grade ammo would be hard pressed to obtain a 7fps SD.
  12. Down South, I got caught out in a winter rain at night, grew tired of walking. Leaves were very thick on the forest floor, dug down a bit and they were quite warm underneath. Made a little pile and went to sleep. Slept great! Got up the next day and finished my hike.
  13. Cool, shepp! I'm droppin' in on you in the future!
  14. All the ones I have seen are a 10" barrel. The old MKII long bull barrels are also 10". The long-barrel Single Sixes are 9 1/2". Gotta be a custom job…therefore we need PICS!
  15. <laughs> My sis in Baraboo proudly messaged me yesterday "It's 40* so I'm wearing a tanktop!"
  16. What Ruger has a 14" barrel?
  17. Or the program writers with 3,000 extra operations needing to be edited out during the first runs.
  18. Got me one of those too…not for friggern $40!!! Mine is a straight-stocked Texan, born the same year as me.

    M1 Garand

    Sweet bro!
  20. Chief Supply often has 25-30% off sales. Got one of our Eotech 512s for 25% off from them. Wasn't in stock and took 3 or 4 months to get...but at $320 shipped, who cares?
  21. Why not go clamp-on, ala M1 Carbine? The old dudes had tons of shizzle for those, wingnuts and hinges.
  22. I hope you got insurance that he won't drill & tap it for some Kwik-Site see-thru scope rings.
  23. I have a friend back there in Chesterfield…he's been incognito for awhile, really need to get him here.
  24. Howdy from AZ CK!
  25. Don't like apples. Not at all. They've been ruined.
