The couple that owns AKT (is that the umbrella corp over Uncle Mike's et al?) has a similar horror story about when they were switching their entire holding's inventory management over to RFID. Can't tell if that forearm has been dragged or it is the grain. Also looks like possible well work bluing up top. That full-buckhorn sight is most likely an add-on. My buddy just bought two, to supplement his Dad's and his brother's, and none have a full buckhorn. FWIW, buckhorns are the old dudes' answer to pisspoor stock sights, much like today's ghostrings. This is one of the rifles that should be put back into production!

Ever cycle the bolt on a Lee-Enfield No.3 or 4? The real question is: does it lock up tight when closed? Not sure about the Boyd's stock for the DBM. Most of the Savages I've looked at closely have parts attached to the bottom of the receiver, via slots or tapped holes…my guess is that the Hog Hunter doesn't have them, contributing to the reduced price.

They used to practice placing demolition charges on ships, with their little two-man sub-scoot thing, towing around a large orange ball on the surface…so boats knew where they were.
