  1. Sorry to hear it Shepp.
  2. Oh you're addicted now! Wait until you get into 4- and 5- axes milling.
  3. Sounds like it's time for an Arizona trip. Glad you are feeling better!

With the fire of Mount Doom! Unlike many around here, no gas leakage. lol
  5. Awesome! Hats off my friend! I agree that new shooters are the best students. Just great! Congratulations! Always keep learning, always strive to provide the answers to all the questions you will receive. You're coming in during a time of transition in the way courses are taught. Go with the flow, forget the naysayers, come out on top. In 2014 the local Boy Scout council paid for my way to a joint NRA/BSA NRA Training Counselor Workshop, in exchange for training 2 classes of local Boy Scout NRA Firearms Instructors per year for two years. A bit over one year into the program, myself and my cohort have conducted 5 classes and minted about 40 NRA Instructors, most holding two disciplines of Rifle and Shotgun. Those that work with BSA Venture/Explorer crews have also become Pistol certified instructors, which total us out at somewhere around 100 certifications. For the local Boy Scout Council. At last year's Council Shooting Sports Day we had about 85 kids participate in archery, sling shot, BB gun, air gun, rifle, shotgun, pistol, and muzzle loading events. This year we are expecting well over 200.
  6. Goals? Surely do! 1. Train multiple other NRA Cheif Range Safety Officers to free up my time from training Range Safety Officers. Met. 2. Mint a platoon of NRA Certified Instructors in multiple disciplines, who can work part time for me so that every class is able to be covered whether I'm there or not. In progress. 3. Travel to get continuing training for myself and more senior instructors, to include different schools of thought on tactics and long-term SHTF medical training.
  7. Bahahaha!
  8. Was a time when I was thinking about building one, when the M2HB barrels were available all over the place for a song and a dance. $1,000 is a nice entry price.
  9. Don't stick it out the car window so much. Ha!
  10. This would be a sweet Garand!
  11. Meh. The Rugers were 5-shot SP101s. Not all bad I suppose but a snubbie revolver. They did take moonclips though.
  12. Straight 9mm can be had. S&W has one currently in production. You can also find them by Charter Arms, Ruger, and Taurus if you'd like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FbUMqoyjDw
  13. Did someone on 308AR forum just complain about pricey?!? <laughing>
  14. That is a cool pic!
  15. IIRC this hit the market about the same time as the societal shift to self-loaders was happening. Initially P&R were doing conversions to existing S&Ws, then came out with their own revolver. Most reviewers said it was interesting and a cool concept (shoots most any mid-bore size revolver OR semi-auto cartridge, marketed as a SHTF gun), but it wasn't an autoshucker. Additionally they poopooed the idea that a prepared person wouldn't have the proper ammo for their handgun. I had my FFL and shop at the time. Never saw a wholesale listing for it.
  16. Near Sportsman's Warehouse at I-10 and Orange Grove! Down Tucson way. Do you have a biker wallet?
  17. Welcome from AZ Aznative! Where abouts are you located? Contrary to popular belief, us Arizonans dominate the forum here. The best place for diagnostic questions is in the brand subforum, for Armalite AR-10B here: http://forum.308ar.com/forum/97-armalite-ar-10/ The Armalite guys may know what the plastic rod is (or Tom...is it purple?). Pics help.
  18. Get outta the Way Back Machine Shepp!
  19. A legal resident alien may purchase a firearm. We sold quite a few to RAs the last time I worked retail. The person must be here on a work or student visa, IIRC.
  20. Welcome from AZ! Yes, training is best to get first and then purchase a handgun that fits you. We have a training organization. It is best to get the experience so you do not purchase a firearm that does not fit you well.
  21. You have to listen to the audience.
  22. When our girl was about 4, Jack came out with the midgets singing about mini sirloin burgers. Nothing like having that sung and stuck in your head all day. Auditorily is better!
  23. Oh yeah. Helicopter costs are roughly 3 times that of an equivalent airplane. For parts and maintanence. Figure in that when used for commercial purposes that helos require inspection every 25 hours of operation (versus every 100 hours of operation for a commercially operated airplane), the prices really start stacking up.
  24. That can really only mean one thing. R2 got a Rock River LAR-8!!!
  25. Could you please highlight the angus?
