  1. Got one of these sitting on the shelf! It was on Josh's 20" AR-15 when he bought it.
  2. Blue, I had the MOE+ on my pistol and recently changed it out for a K2+. I really like the K2 on the pistol! <thumbsup>
  3. Mine came out of a smoker. First time I've smoked a turkey and it came out great! I'm new to smoking but it sure is a great way to cook some stuff!
  4. Happy Thanksgiving to all you jokers! I'm thankful to have all you guys as friends. One of Josh's buddies from Okinawa is due here anytime now. He's on his way to Miramar Ca. his new assignment and the timing was right for him to have Thanksgiving with us. It's going to be GREAT having a Marine at my table! OORAH!
  5. That was great. Thanks Ron! <thumbsup>
  6. You know, I think AR grips are kind of like concealed carry holsters, you might get lucky on the first try but what's more likely is you'll end up with several by the time you find the one that works for you.
  7. Now that is cool as hell! The ultimate sleeper!
  8. I use a handheld drill with my WFT, but I clamp it in my bench vise and lock the trigger back and go to town on the cases! Works great that way. I have one of the HF drill presses but the hand drill in the vise works so well I've never tried using the drill press. BTW, Mineralman is spot on, wear gloves!
  9. Bwahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Nice work! <thumbsup>
  11. DAMN! I wish I had that problem, I love deer sausage! <thumbsup>
  12. I don't see a pic either.
  13. Zedex, with a jam like that you can separate the upper and lower by pulling both takedown pins, no need to remove the buffer tube! I have the same rifle and I've never had a problem like that, nor with any of my AR-15's. I would say that's a pretty rare occurrence!
  14. I gotta say, I bought my '07 Ultra Classic new in late '06 and that bike has never left a drop of oil on the garage floor! Come to think of it, Josh's '05 Sportster never has either. Now, my '77 Electra Glide was a whole different story!
  15. Hey Ron, you related to Rodney Dangerfield? ROFL!
  16. Welcome back brother!
  17. True that! Early in my career we had a guy commit suicide with a shotgun. He blew a softball sized hole in his face and took out the front two thirds of his brain. Dude lived for 45 minutes after pulling the trigger!
  18. From what my son tells me the Corps is pretty much that way too Beach. He says they only shoot once a year to qualify. He burns up quite q bit of ammo when he's home on leave to make up for that, and I make sure the ammo is there for him to shoot!
  19. A 50 round qualification course shot quarterly (if even that often) is not extensive by anybody's standards! That is the extent of a majority of police officers' training.
  20. Lapp, if you have any questions just post them up here and I'm sure you'll get your answers. We have several guys here that are gurus of the 308 AR rifles!
  21. BS! I was a firearms instructor for my department for over 14 years and LEO's for the most part DON'T train extensively. A large majority of LEO's only shoot their pistols when they have to, which is at qualifications. I've been involved in action pistol competitions for around 30 years and in a department of about 30 sworn officers I only managed to get ONE other officer interested in competition. There are some really good shooters in law enforcement but the majority are not and really aren't concerned in becoming better as long as they can shoot a passing score at quals. If you do the research you'll find that statistically civilian shootings have a higher hit percentage than law enforcement shootings. Civilians that train WILL have a higher hit percentage than the law enforcement averages.
  22. Magpul is great! I got in at the very end of the special 10 magazine sale they did in response to Colorado's BS and somehow my order fell through the cracks and was never put through. Once I talked to the right guy (almost a month after the sale was over) he found my order and sent me my mags along with a baseball cap and several stickers!
  23. Huh???????????????
  24. Oil that BCG until it's dripping for break-in! It will probably loosen up a bit after you've put some rounds through it but the general consensus is the 308 AR's need to be ran wet while breaking them in.
  25. That is the barrel my rifle came with. That sucker is heavy! I had a machinist friend of mine turn mine down to .745 in front of the gas block and thread the muzzle and I re-parkerized it. It did make a difference. Those barrels use a .936 gas block and the barrel is about .930 from the gas block to the muzzle. The section behind the gas block is over 1" in diameter.
