No, really, who did you buttstroke with that thing? All kidding aside, I've had one on my LR308 for a while now an have had no problems at all. I think you may have just gotten a defective part.

Yeeeeehaaaa! <lmao>

Screw him! He had the option of getting a ride and chose to drive. Tarnish the badge like that and I have no sympathy for you!

:sign10: SOB got just what he deserved! <thumbsup>

Last summer I shot up a whole Rubbermaid tub full of canned soda that I came across in the garage. That stuff had been in there for several years, and most of it still had pressure. Josh and I shot it all with my LR308 from back at 100 yards. Lot of fun until we had to pick up all that aluminum from the berm, that was a bit sticky but I brought a jug of water to wash up with in anticipation of that. I've always taught my kids to pack out more than we brought in, at the range or camping.

I think I've posted this before but thought I'd throw it out there again. The wife says we ARE getting international phone service for Josh when he goes to Okinawa! :eek7:

Awesome! I love it when a case comes together like that.

My wife made some kickass gumbo last night, had shrimp, crab, fish, squid and sausage in it. She's made some pretty good gumbo in the past, but she used a recipe a coworker from Nawlins gave her and it was a whole nother ball game. Funny thing is, I'm the only one here who will eat it. The granddaughters won't touch seafood and my wife is allergic to shrimp! Mine, all mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hethan:

According to my son that is just the USMC.

Tears of a Cop ************* I have been where you fear to go... I have seen what you fear to see... I have done what you fear to do... All these things I've done for you. I am the one you lean upon... The one you cast your scorn upon... The one you bring your troubles to... All these people I've been for you. The one you ask to stand apart... The one you feel should have no heart... The one you call the man in blue... But I am human just like you. And through the years I've come to see... That I'm not what you ask of me... So take this badge and take this gun... Will you take it? Will anyone? And when you watch a person die... And hear a battered baby cry... Then so you think that you can be All those things you ask of me...? -Randy Myers Thank you for your service!

Okay guys, talked to Josh a little while ago and he is all over this! Wednesday morning sounds good, and we'll shoot until we get tired, we run out of ammo or we get hungry. I'll probably just bring a couple of rifles and my carry gun. I don't want the rifles in the vehicle when I go on base Tuesday (probably get arrested as a terrorist or something) so I have to drop them off at my daughter's on the way over. She has two young kids and I don't want to leave a bunch of guns and ammo there when I'm not there too.

Yeah, Jesse was caught totally off guard. His wife knew, but only since that morning, she can let the cat out of the bag sometimes! I have a grandson of sorts, a kid that my son Jesse and his wife took under their wing and raised during his high school years who is also in the Marines. He is stationed at Pendleton and was supposed to be there for this, but as we all know, the military has a way of changing your plans for you and he couldn't be there. He and Josh were in on this with me from the start. Now I need to build Jesse a display stand, the ones they sell are way overpriced and he said he wanted me to make one for him. Hopefully I won't have to use that damn table saw to get it done!

Tom, your comment reminded me that before every wrestling match just before he stepped on the mat I would always tell him "Go hard son!" He has always played hard (hence the broken body parts over the years) and for the most part worked hard. About the only thing he slacked off in was school work and he still managed to graduate with honors. He had a bad habit of putting assignments off till the last minute and then sitting up half the night to get stuff done. Good thing I'm blonde, all the gray hair he gave me doesn't show so much! <lmao>

My older son Jesse was a sergeant when he got out of the Marines 14 years ago, but he never got his NCO sword. A short time back he mentioned that he would like to get one. My son Josh, myself and my grandson Santiago, who is also in the Marines went together and bought the sword for him. We went to 29 Palms for Josh's birthday, and since Jesse's birthday was 4 days before Josh's and he happened to be in L.A. at that time we got him to come to 29 Palms to help his little brother celebrate his 21st. birthday. He had no idea that we had gotten the sword for him. After a cookout at the base park we went back to the barracks where Josh got some of his platoon and his sergeant together and did a somewhat impromptu presentation to his big brother. We got a video of it on a cell phone so it's not that great, but thought I would post it here.

Yeah, his name is John Browning! <lmao>

Except the one you would really like to stay around for a while. That one goes off to the Marines! :'(

What? Elvis went cholo on us? :ugone2far: -
Update on Josh. He called us last night and said he received the 'Warrior' award, which is given to the one Marine in the company that shows the most qualities that the Marines stand for. He has been his platoon squad leader since he got there, and his guys told me he is the only one left of the original squad leaders. They also told me they have a lot of respect for him, he keeps them squared away at all times, but never talks down to them or anything. His sergeant told him he may get a promotion out of the award. If so, he will go into the fleet as a Lance Corporal. After Saturday night I'm a little surprised though, he was so drunk at 2230 hrs. formation that his sergeant put him in the back row and his buddies helped hold him up. His sergeant is pretty cool, and was at the bowling alley with us for a little while to help Josh celebrate his 21st. birthday. His buddies told me that he was not in any trouble though, he was 21 and was not told he couldn't drink, he just couldn't leave the base. They said as long as he made formation and answered when his name was called he was good to go. He told me the next day that he was OK in the bowling alley, but when he walked outside into the cool air things went south real fast.
