  1. I spent the day decompressing from the Fallen Officer Run my club did the day before. The best Father's Day I ever had was the one when my youngest was only 3 years old. He brought me breakfast in bed that morning, an apple and a beer! That memory will forever be etched on my heart!
  2. Management= Peter Principle; Those in management positions will rise to their level incompetency, which is where they stop! Knowing how that works, I stopped at the level of shift Lt. during my LE career and was very good at that level and had the respect of my officers. After I retired they were coming to my house when the chief said he was retiring wanting me to put in for the chief's job. I told them "Do you see 'stupid' tattooed on my forehead?" <lmao>
  3. Wow, that's like 50% off! I'll definitely look into that. Thanks Jon! The wife might get to retire eventually after all! <lmao>
  4. Yeah well, his big brother owes me a little over $200 for parts I got for his Harley (my old one that was passed on to him) and told me to go ahead and get a back tire for him and he will pay me for it. NOT until he pays for the stuff he already owes me for, and I got the bike in my garage holding it for ransom! :sign10:
  5. Nah, it's only about 3 days. <lmao>
  6. My kid is 21 years old and for the last two years (since he left college and got a job) I've been thinking that he is finally to where he won't cost me money. Now that he's in the Marines you would think so even more. NOT!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know how much money I've spent visiting that kid at 3 different bases over the span of 8 months, and now that he's in Okinawa for 2 years you would think I will finally get a break. My wife wants to go visit him while he's there in Oki. You guys know how much it costs to fly to Japan?!!! :ugone2far: Sumbitch! I'm gonna have to raid the wife's retirement fund. We really need a beating your head against the wall emoticon. :ifly: Yeah, I remember the tooth fairy days. Things were CHEAP back then!
  7. Thanks Rene. Right now he's really enjoying Okinawa. Hopefully that little turd in N. Korea behaves!
  8. Most of the 3 gunners around here use a 1-4 power scope. The ones who are always playing the equipment race have moved up to the newer 1-6 power scopes. I like those guys, you can usually get some good deals on the stuff they are always replacing with the 'latest' thing! <lmao>
  9. Hell yeah!
  10. My son on Sept. 11, 2012! <lmao>
  11. I have to give a HUGE thanks to all you guys for bringing your guns out and getting together with Josh and I. Josh told me after I picked him up at Twentynine Palms that the one thing he missed most being in the Marines was our trips to the shooting range. You guys just can't imagine how much Josh enjoyed that time at the range.
  12. And here's Josh unloading a 30 round mag; That's a big grin!
  13. Okay, finally figured out how to post these vids of Josh and Tom shooting Vera at the Casa Grande get together. You Tube supports that weird format they are in so I downloaded them on You Tube. Here's Tom unloading a 100 rnd Beta mag;
  14. If one of you guys put one together I would do a 100 rnd mag dump in 308. Just sayin!
  15. I've got one on my LR-308 and I like it a lot.
  16. Here's one for Tom.
  17. I can do you one better. My son's best friend had an SKS that his wife bought him for Christmas just before the crap hit the fan. He managed to pick up several 25 and 30 rnd. detachable mags for it over the last several months. The other day he traded it to a coworker for an M&P AR-15 with one mag, straight across, no money changed hands! He said the guy was happy as hell to get the SKS and said he had always wanted one.
  18. Nice! <thumbsup>
  19. Put my son on a plane to Okinawa at LAX and then started the long drive home. God bless every person who is or has served this great nation! Because of you we still remain the greatest country on Earth!
  20. I don't know about using it on the larger platform rifles, but it sure works good on the AR-15's! BTW, I have the videos of both Tom and Josh shooting Vera on my computer. There is no sound, but the sound is still in the file, as I tried an online file converting service and the audio is there when converted to MP3, but no video. I tried converting to other files (WAV, MPEG, WMV etc.) but couldn't get both audio and video together. I'm a computer 'tard so if any of you computer gurus want to try and do something with the vids let me know and I'll send them to you. Oh, they are 3gp files, if that helps.
  21. Well, 'that person' responded in a negative manner twice, the second time when she was presented with a copy of the order confirmation. Should I have to track down every person in Customer Service and contact each one to try and resolve the situation? I think not! Also, if you're employed in customer service you should be able to check any personal issues at the door when starting work so that's not a legitimate argument in my book. As for posting the issue here and ARF, I had already made TWO attempts to resolve the situation and felt like the issue should be brought before the shooting community and after all, that is one of the reasons we have forums. I made no derogatory remarks, I simply stated the facts and my feelings on the situation. After Justin stepped up and offered to resolve the problem I took the time (as should be done) to go back and post updates at both forums on how well the problem was resolved. I did modify the post title on ARF but didn't do so here as I didn't feel it was necessary. This is a much smaller forum and the folks here tend to stay more caught up on current posts IMHO. At any rate, the mags were delivered to my door as I was typing this and all is good! I see no further reason to keep pondering what should or shouldn't have been done in this situation so if the moderators see no reason to keep this thread going for further discussion I ask that it be closed.

  23. I also asked Jessica about the 25 round 308 mags and she said they were looking at a release date sometime in the fall.
  24. Update; I did as Tom suggested and put a post over at ar15.com. Approx. one day later I was contacted by Justin and he requested a copy of the confirmation email. I sent it to him and received a replay just a short time latter that day. Justin said he couldn't figure out why the order had never been shipped, as the order had definitely gone through, but had never made it over to the warehouse to be filled. He said it was very strange situation and that he would take care of it. I was just contacted by Jessica at Magpul to confirm my info and she told me the mags would be shipped tomorrow and I would have them probably 2 days after that. Hats off to Justin and Jessica @ Magpul for making this right! <thumbsup>
  25. He is saying it will be at least a year before they get married, maybe as long as two years.
