  1. Welcome from Iowa!
  2. Welcome from Iowa!
  3. Exactly why they have to strike while emotion rules, god forbid your logic interfere with their political goals.
  4. 100 yards, no wind, I'm sure the zero change was due to the material removed from the face of the receiver extension causing the barrel to mount up differently, it was a good bit of material to get it all even. I had removed the scope mount once before and it returned to zero almost perfectly. The mount has an integral level, matched the vertical crosshair to a 4 foot plumb line at 100 yards and everything looked good.
  5. So then I gather you would be against a knee jerk political action that leads to a law banning bump fires? The politicians, NRA included, are not stupid enough to actually believe that passing a law will end this type of lunacy..........they just can't stop themselves from from passing up a crisis for political gain, political mind you, no real gains to be made here outside of politics.
  6. Got a couple boxes sent downrange today. So far so good, 10 rounds to get the scope re-zeroed, it had moved 18 inches left after the lapping, low spot on the receiver was the right side so this makes sense, elevation was only two clicks high. Shot two five round groups that did 1 inch then two 10 round groups at a good clip, they stayed inside 1 1/2 inch except for one round and that was all me. I think when I get the mirage issue solved I will be able to tighten the groups up a good bit, amazing how much distortion the heat of the suppressor creates versus just the barrel, 30x on the scope doesn't help I guess. I hope to get out some more this week and make sure these few groups are not a fluke.
  7. Do I own a bump fire, no, never saw the need, I can shoot more effectively without it. I do worry about what else will be piled on, what will be next if we allow this? My 2A is there so I can protect myself and family from a tyrannical government, the NFA infringes on that. I'm not in any mood to give anything, I'm of the mind that taking back lost rights is long overdue. The actions of one POS cannot be allowed to have that much influence, it only invites more POS's to make their own marks. I know you and I see the full auto issue differently so there will be no meeting in the middle on this, for me "not be infringed" is clear language. The founding fathers wanted the citizens to be the equal of the government when it comes to firepower to dissuade any future government from becoming tyrannical, it is all spelled out in their writings, but then I guess history dooms us to repeat it, again. When does the pressure cooker ban come in? They are clearly not in the 2A but can be devastating weapons...........
  8. Same here, since 1986 when they pulled the same crap, they honestly believe the American citizen has no business with full auto weapons. Jumped all over this opportunity to impress their friends on the costs with how reasonable they are.
  9. So proud of the NRA, thank god they are so on top of what is best for me. God forbid they actually stand up against the ignorant idea that morality can be legislated. They are real supporters of the 2A and its original intent.......
  10. Check the forward assist pawl. I tried to use one that was supposedly made for 308 AR's that had a longer pawl, it jammed up the carrier but did it much sooner than half way back. Could be your FA and that carrier don't play well. Pretty sure the inside diameter on buffer tubes is the same for commercial and military, the outside is where they differ.
  11. The Pacific Tool and Gauge lapping tool has a step in front of the face portion that leaves room for some compound without contacting the inside of the upper. Between that and the very sticky nature of the Wheeler compound it avoids any lapping of the inside of the receiver extension, I didn't see any evidence of the surface being disturbed there and the tool fit very nice, no side to side play at all. If this doesn't help then I'm calling the barrel junk, X-Caliber did not exactly instill me with confidence.
  12. Never mind, wrong MILF............damn terrorists mucking up my google search for MILF's
  13. Love me some MILF pics!
  14. So I've been struggling to get some consistency from this build. If I go real slow letting everything cool real well I can get some decent groups but allow a little heat and it starts throwing them all different ways. I was attempting to run a test on my scope today but called it off due to this issue. Went home and decided to break it down and see what I could find. Since I had the barrel off I chucked up the receiver lapping tool and gave it a spin. After a quick spin I pulled it out and inspected, it had only shined up maybe 2/3's the way around the face on the receiver extension and that portion was not very even. I continued to lap, clean, and inspect until it had an even shine all the way around. I reinstalled the barrel using loctite 609 retaining compound around the barrel extension. I'm hoping this will show a little improvement in the heat issue.
  15. abu sayyaf, they had been beaten down to almost nothing but the powers that be pulled our men out so they have regrouped and expanded again. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-36138554
  16. First how would they enforce it, door to door searches? Second shouldn't cali be seen as proof that banning a piece of equipment doesn't work? Just look at the whole "permanent magazine issue" and how gadget after gadget has circumvented the law. I notice most everyone is sold out of Surefire mags, so much for catching them on sale cheap like I'd been doing.
  17. Some reports are stating he had two rooms, either way it will be interesting to see if anything Jones claims turns out to be factual.
  18. Put on your tinfoil hat, the conspiracy wheels are turning!
  19. It's a 100 round Surefire, 60n rounders are same length as a 30 just fatter. 100, http://www.surefire.com/tactical-equipment/high-capacity-magazines/mag5-100.html 60; http://www.surefire.com/tactical-equipment/high-capacity-magazines/mag5-60.html They both work great.
  20. I agree the media has not helped but ultimately it is on society as a whole. Until we hold people responsible for their actions this crap will only increase. We have allowed everyone to have an excuse, alcoholic, victim of a disease, drug addict, disease victim, gang banger, victim of their surroundings, everyone is a victim and not responsible for their actions. Instead of celebrating victims we should celebrate personal responsibility. It is OK to hate, a perfectly natural emotion for us humans, it is not OK to allow that hate to interfere with others. We have to keep separate the emotion of hate from the acting on that hate, If we allow society to go down the road of legislating the emotion of hate then Liberty is lost.
  21. Unless you are a millionaire of course! I actually hope that bit of disinformation sticks with the libtards, kind of a move along, nothing to see here deal
  22. The firing rate reminded me of a bump fire stock. Sad to hear the MSM calling the rifles "heavy artillery" and "armor piercing artillery". The agenda is clear;
  23. Whether isis had anything to do with it or not we should hit them hard just for talking about, find the people running this "amaq" and smoke'em, but then no press release, just do it and move on. So far so good but I'm not going to hold my breath, the anti 2A's are building a box around him right now.
  24. Welcome from Iowa, thank you for your service!
  25. More info on the rifle, is it a true AR-10 or an 308AR? If the later who is the manufacturer/manufacturers? What brand of mags? How many rounds through the rifle?
