  1. Ran 60 rounds at the range this morning, seems to be pretty clean with accuracy as good or better than other 55 grain stuff I shoot. Noticed the boxes give a "25 year shelf life".
  2. LaRue is doing the $99 trigger sale again; http://www.larue.com/larue-tactical-tac?mc_cid=ea146c0a53&mc_eid=1821b69c35
  3. I found the Siglite sights on my MK25's to be easier to see than the trijicons on my Springfield Loaded 1911.
  4. Not sure it is worth the risk on the ammunition, life or death and all you have then maybe shoot it. With the opportunity to replace it I wouldn't, risk of a squib just isn't worth that little bit of ammo.
  5. Nice work! Curious to hear how it shoots.
  6. I used the LPK from Chris, maybe give him a call at the new place, Live Free Armory, (407) 891-1255.
  7. It should seal up with use, as long as the rifle functions I wouldn't worry much.
  8. You can bet it didn't help!
  9. You won't get me to say much nice about Midway, knew there was an issue with the ammo, kept selling it and blew me off till they realized I wasn't going away and showed them I had threads posted about the issue on several gun boards. I tend to avoid retailers that treat me like that, even once.
  10. Merged with ZEV, Megas president will be in charge of manufacturing for both now. Name might change but they will be available. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/02/01/zev-mega-arms-announce-merger/
  11. I have noticed the reviews on PSA for Independence 5.56 mentioned blown primers and other pressure issues.
  12. Swapped the FH for an AAC Brakeout so I could run this build suppressed with a SDN-6. Kind of a pain since it is a pin and weld job but worth it. The brake made an already soft shooting rifle even softer. Suppressor makes it a bit nose heavy but doable. Quiet but the crack still had me wearing plugs. SLR gas block setting is two clicks with the can on, one click would cock the trigger but not lock the bolt back. It ran 120 rounds without a problem, IMI, Federal, and Speer Lawman, all 55 grain.
  13. Shot 60 rounds of the replacement ammo with no issues today. Cases look fine, no signs of pressure, and it is as accurate as LC and Federal 55 gr.
  14. Now I gotta shoot a P99, see if they have one at the indoor on Monday.
  15. Hell Yess!!!! The wife said she would love to have one.
  16. Welcome from Iowa!
  17. Same here, out of stock, put myself on the notification list without really thinking about it. I could skip the new snowblower I need and use it, bet the neighbors would love that!
  18. Damn, that orange really does drive it home!
  19. Years back when he did the first run with real wood they were a bit under $2,000, that I maybe could have swallowed. No way that rifle would do the scope justice! Chrome lined barrel, carbine gas, it's just a looker.
  20. I used his 300 BO version in my pistol build, no issues and it has become a carbon pit while testing a lube.
  21. Dammit Wash! Now if I get an orange spring that image will pop into my head every time I charge the rifle
  22. Did you notice much difference in the effort required to pull the charging handle with that orange spring?
  23. Nice rifle! I swapped an Aero spring for a Tubb's in my Matrix build, no issue just wanted to try it. I felt the same results which puzzled me as the Tubb's was supposed to be a heavier rated spring, figured it must have something to do with points at which the spring exerts the pressure. Either way I like them.
  24. That right there is what convinced me to get out! I never was involved with planning the training but it was very obvious if the training I got was worth a fuk or not, after leaving the 1-75th I never saw anything I considered good training, 24th ID and 8th ID. God forbid someone do something in the dark and not be lit up with chem lights, and be happy you got a hundred blank rounds to play laser tag with!
  25. I have always liked the looks of case hardening and Turnbull is one of the best at it. I just don't like it as much as they do I guess.
