  1. Not to step on your toes survivalshop, just reordering, trigger first before you waste time and ammo getting used to one you will swap out later anyway, practice, practice, practice, while practicing you can sort out what your gun likes for ammo, when all of this is good down the road go for a barrel if you think its necessary, this is the order I use but just my opinion and you know about opinions. <thumbsup>
  2. They work well for deglazing in motors but when honing to size nothing beats a rigid hone in a machine, we also used them a lot in the machine shop both for small bore finishing and for deburring crossholes in parts, I don't have a rifle that needs it right now but I am really wanting to try it on one, the paper on a slotted dowel did very well also but extra care must be taken to do it evenly and not mess with the shoulder.
  3. Looked like a 2wd ural, probably studded tires
  4. When I polished mine in the lathe I did leave a cross hatch in it, I have not used a flexhone for a chamber but have been using them on engines and many other things for 20 yrs or so, they do work very well and it is easy to get a nice finish.
  5. GS455 started a thread that has some good pics of brass from a rough chamber and I posted there about how my local smith had me polish my chamber and it works great, it ripping the rim off before, you are removing very little material, unless you get carried away we are only talking about tenths of thousandths or 4 decimal places.
  6. Deburr what would be the rearward edge of the relief cut in the extractor it looks like this is hitting the back of the case, I had the same problem with one, I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel to remove a little from the rear of the cut, this also makes the rough chamber problem worse by driving the case into the chamber, do you have access to a lathe?
  7. Sorry about that, I have their 80% lower sitting here waiting on a upper too, I check daily because I spoke to them and they said they will be making them in the first quarter of '14.
  8. He's got Monica and a Glock 18, I don't see the cigar though?
  9. I have the ballistic on my 5, my wife has the lifeproof, both work well the ballistic seems like it would be more impact resistant but I like the waterproof of the lifeproof
  10. TM-15 uppers in stock
  11. Luckily yes there is, BUY IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I found a load for bullseye and 200gr l.s.w.c. in the length I want at 1.260 and 5.3 grains was the middle of the range they gave between start and max, going to load some tomorrow and try in my 5" WWI colt and 1928 thompson
  13. Ran just over 200 45 autos with ranier 200 gr plated but ran out of titegroup, came inside for load data going back out to set up for bullseye now, got 1500 bullets to go!
  14. Have been using titegroup but just ran out, setting up the Dillon for 200gr ranier plated bullets and going to switch to bullseye, probably tomorrow or Monday, will post what I come up with.
  15. Long sleeves generally not a good idea around manuals, at least button the cuffs, and that lead screw is pretty far down out of the way. That old machine looks to be in excellent shape, I am positive it has had a rebuild, if that thing was built today OSHA would make them cover damn near everything with guards!
  16. I actually found some 165/168/175gr at polygunbags.com and wideners has 145gr m80's and 168gr match both in bulk. I guess the pulldown question was for me? I have always had very good luck with them, they are not match quality but for just going to the range and having fun punching holes they are great, I got started using them for belted ammo in my 1919 then started using them for non critical work in the ar and m1a.
  17. I haven't been able to find any either, 10 ring in Houston sent me a email today saying they have those 55gr pulldowns for $88/k but no 147's.
  18. That's nice to look at! It would be even better if they were 147gr!!
  19. My brother in law bought hornady ammo to shoot and use the brass to reload but we found out real quick that the brass is no good, it wont extract, he also read the same thing on some forums, have to drive it out with a cleaning rod, lapua brass extracts every time, this was about 3 years ago, was told by the guy that owns ammo-to-go that hornady has since fixed the problem but have not verified this yet. I do know he is using Retumbo and lapua scenar (spelling) projectiles, he had trouble with it not liking a lighter bullet but will have to ask what was bad and good.
  20. Let the hoarding begin! I don't really "save" any money by reloading, it just allows me to shoot more for the amount of money I can spend on ammo, and it never hurts to be able to tell the wife that " if I get my supplies in bulk I can do it for about 50-60% of factory ammo cost".
  21. Oh my! I have to go now.
  22. That redhead, WOW! Got any more pics of her, did I say WOW! already?
  23. Ranier 200 gr 45 auto 1000ct weny from 123 to 135, the Remington 30 carbine bullets I was getting went up about $2 per hundred and the ranier 9mm bulk went up too, probably to do with that lead smelter closing.
  24. Yesterday I loaded up 400 rds of 45 auto, kind of ashamed to admit that was all the primers I had, tumbled and processed more 45 auto brass today and got more supplies coming. Did anyone else notice the price of pretty much all bullets has gone up?
  25. That is because they are watching you!
