No I think that membrane kinda holds them together and it peels off like a paper bag after. It probably helps shield the meat alittle too?! Good work they looked great

Dirk ended up texting me, but this is how I did them. Rubbed the night before, covered and refrigerated, also used brisket rub not meat church. like Matt says in the direction pull on tenderness. When your prob slides in and out like better they’re done. I had tech issues with my probe, but start checking 198-205. I rested tented on the counter 1 hour, my temp was 170 when I cut into them Check out this recipe: https://traeger.page.link/aDE1Zw49FtDbL34GA

That’s the best thing do do with them imo especially as a single dude or a couple. Smoke them eat a meat freeze the rest in 2# bags, they thaw in a bowl of water in 30 min the corn meal is on Amazon, my 10” skillet wasn’t as deep as hers next time I’m gonna do it in my big skillet or Dutch oven. Oh and I subbed half and half for butter milk, I highly reccomend it

This might be thee best piece of meat I’ve ever smoked prime plate beef ribs, aka Dino ribs. Also made sweet onion jalapeño chewer corn bread. Ate like a fucking king boys 🥃🥃 and bed. Hope you all had a great weekend
  7. Thank you guys!! @Rsquared fucking disaster, but it’s my disasters and I don’t have anyone nagging me to clean lol. There’s enough steps in the process that you can wash as you go, but you never guess I washed my kitchen floor thurs night lol. Also it’s hot as balls out right now so I might as well do somthing productive inside! finally finished up the tomato sauce at 12:30 last night
  8. Tomato sauce today (still cooking down) and 7 pints of salsa verde
  9. Wow I’ve never heard this version, it just came on
  10. That time of year again, I started two weeks ago making tomato sauce, but ended up getting Covid and didn’t get it canned. today I went to the farmers market and got what I didn’t have in the garden and started with candied jalapeños today.
  11. This guy makes me wish I had some kinda rhythm, if you’ve never watched him put on your rose colored glasses and fall down the rabbit hole
  12. I was unsure about it on arrival “smaller than it looked” (not the first time I’ve heard that!). A 10.5” iPad will not fit in the designated pocket with any kind of protective cover on it. But what will fit in the inner iPad pocket is a pistol 😍😍😍 after trying some configurations and getting a cheap ipad bag off Amazon I’m happier. I ran it last weekend going to the tractor pulls last weekend with my mono pod and little camp chair strapped to it and was very happy also @Armed Eye Doc I think I found a home for your patch that black pouch in the back ground is my big 150-600mm lens and will either mount where the iPad is or to the bottom of the pack when needed. I’m just getting it set up to use as my carry on next week.

I figured you’d enjoy this! The announcer for this was awesome he explained so much about the up coming class while they changed the weights and what not on the sled. It had been years, I’ve never seen the trucks run in person and never these new tractors it was pretty wild!

    Tractor pulls

Went to my cousins motocross a few weekends ago and it really made me miss shooting motorsports. yesterday the state tractor pull association was in town so I decided to go down knowing I’d run into someone I knew. Well I ran into a photo friend of mine and ended up pulling a media pass. I missed the alcohol burners, but got to see the super farm, prostock diesel trucks and prostock diesel tractors. Those prostock tractors are running a 5” turbo, you can see it in the blue tractor after they got the fire put out

piggly wiggly porterhouse I really need to quit being lazy and use my thermometer when I reverse sear. Went low and slow at 180 till 105, pulled it, cranked her up to 450. Shot the grill grates with the inferred gun they were at 425. Seared/turned/flipped/turned till 125° pulled and rested till it stoped really climbing (134.5-135°)
  19. @Robocop1051 blames @98Z5V but I blame both of you. I’ve been looking at back packs for years, there are a couple good threads here. I found this one and between wanting a new camera bag and the versatility this should be great. Do I just have my iPad and 600mm or is there a suppressed .45 in there too? Trick or treat MFR https://hazard4.com/collections/photo-gear/products/freelance?variant=44059288109369
  20. I thought the same! It’s so bad here today I went home and grabbed my inhaler before i went to my first call
  21. We’ll strap it to the tundra in November
  22. Yea we finally got some rain here too now if it would for 2-3 days straight
  23. Don’t tell @98Z5V that! Lol today is the first humid day we’ve had and that’s cuz it finally rained after 1.5 months. im with you it’s been 90’s here the sun is offensive, but the air had been dry it actually been ok
  24. I’ll have my .45 in the desert, it’s dialed in now, the boys had fun with it last month Ohhhhh that would be fun Surpressed
  25. Hotter than to mice fucking in a wool sock
