Great pictures sisco, I've got a few Yupper pages on my FB, I try making it up there once twice a year they've posted some beautiful pictures too
  2. Haha yea.... I could use that on my commute tho!! Rob what did you use for your two harvests
  3. Think that geissele is about the same price, I like the 3 positions of the Tac com but for 200+$ idk bout that
  4. Hahaha never had it but I've heard much about them, we don't have them this far south .
  5. Hahahaha think that's a touch over kill :) think the .308 with some rapid expansion will do the trick. I do want a bear skin rug.......with minimal hole size
  6. Thanks Jon and yes it did lock tight, and it was smooth. Must be why that guy is running the CDI bottom metal for AICS type magazines, it looks to hold the mag in the mag well.
  7. Could I run something like this? With a savage DBM?? http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/product.htm?pid=54810&cat=1215
  8. The thing that turns me off to the scout style rife is to mount a conventional style scope you must remove the rear sight, I want a bolt gun with back up sights.
  9. I had an issue with my "cheapy Remington " this past fall they're on my poop list right now. Rug ar scout is cool but the savage scout is comparable and cheaper, I wish I could find one to fondle. Here's another thread I found. http://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?21993-Stocks-for-Savage-Hog-Hunter-308
  10. What's the cost on that one? I was looking at the gissele 3gun too
  11. Ok so as I mentioned in my "savage" post I really like the .308 hog hunter. Pros: bolt is smooth like butter, shoulders well, fixed sights, threaded end on barrel Cons: internal box mag (4 rounds) stock is kinda flimsy Listened to a few recommendations on the mossberg MVP .308 patrol and fondled one Saturday. Pro: detachable sr25/pmag, fixed sights, front fiber optic pin on sight, threaded barrel end with flash suppressor Cons: bolt was super sloppy when open ( the gun at the store was really bad in my opinion) stock also cheap. Been doing some reading on modding the stock on the hog hunter and actually tried to join a savage forum to ask these questions but to join you need to be avid In savage history lol. I did find an thread on ar-15.com, but idk exactly what they're talking about could some one dumb it down for me? http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=6&f=5&t=383806 The 3rd post down by cyclic specifically I'm not ruling out the MVP patrol, the bolt slop really turned me off tho, I talked to bubba about his .223 and he had assured me it's a great gun and he plans on getting the .308 too, but I think if I could easily upgrade the savage I'd go that route

Best 10$ I've spent in sometime
  13. I hear you rob, luckily I've got a lot of friends who hunt. Like I said this is something my dad and I have been planning on for years. Not going to be something I do a lot of and in Wisconsin it will take me atleast another 7 years to draw a tag. We're talking to an outfitter right now he baits and will help us gut and drag the animal if need be
  14. http://www.thebangswitch.com/shooting-the-taccon-3mr-trigger/ Best review I've yet to see I enjoy his non bias opinion
  15. Lol we ain't talking some big ass grizz just lil ol black bear. I'd much rather run into a single black bear in the woods over wolve(s) I don't trust them bastards.
  16. My .308 or 12ga
  17. My gf always asks me what I'm giggling about, then I gotta explain it all

Pretty sure rifle, not sure on cost might be extra to pull that permit too, check the wi dnr site. It's a beautiful part of the state!
  19. My dad and I put into draw tags this year for Wisconsin and we both drew one. Pretty excited season opens early sept and we got a section that produces some of the largest bear in the state. My dad contacted an outfitter in the Ashland area (right on Lake Superior). Been 10 years in the making.

    Savage anyone?

Went to cabelas north of Milwaukee yesterday, they had the .308 patrol in stock. Feels good I like the sights, but I was really disappointed in the bolt idk if it was just this gun or what but it was really sloppy. I like the idea of the mag and the sights are nice but the bolt really turned me off
