Understand this is a mini series 10 hrs. long. I watched it on the History channel and they showed a short interview of the actual men that fought in the battles before each episode by the end of the series I was speechless. Your in for experience if you watch. I recorded it on DVD after seeing it the first time. Now that were talking about it I think I'll watch again :)) Its a must see, when you watch it let me know what you thought.

I haven't been to the big screen in awhile because of my home theater. Sooo last week my surround sound shot craps on me so now I have to find another. I guess that means I'll have to go if I want to see and hear it the way it suppose to be. Hope there no *ickhead surfing on there phone like the last time I went, Kinda irritating seeing the light of a phone in a dark theater. The last really good war or battle film I watched was Band of Brothers to this day I have not seen anything that even compares to the way they did this film or mini series.

5 Round Hunting Mags
seasprite replied to onebigelf's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Well I'm back and with pics so lets get started <thumbsup> This is my 6 round Pmag loaded and inserted the mag well with the bolt closed And this is the Pmag loaded 6 rounds and the cover still snaps on Another pic with the 6 rounds Pic with mag disassembled After getting a 20 round Pmag and disassemble and store parts for later. Then cut the Pmag at the bottom of the top rib (warning don't go any shorter or it might be to short to lock in) I used my chop saw and made quick work for the cut. Now comes the fun part I didn't want to pin or screw the base plate to the mag so I can take it apart like a non modified Pmag so what I did was to take propane torch and heat the bottom edge till it was soft enough to mold. While the plastic is still soft I pushed the bottom of the mag on my garage floor to get the plastic to swell out on the edges It may take a few times of heating it to get enough plastic out to form new base plate edge. After that I had to file and sand the bottom edge to get the base plate to slide on and the floor plate to go inside the mag. To get a good fit you may have to file or sand some other areas on the mag as well. By looking at the pics you might be able to see the areas. After all that you get shorten your spring I cut the spring at the bottom since it was easier than the top since it has a 90* bend to hold the follower on. ( can't remember how many coils I took off but you should be able to count from the pic) Now you get to reassemble and test remember to be careful when putting the base plate on with spring pressure. If you didn't get the base plate edge right it could fly apart. If you don't want to go this route you can always pin the base or screw it on. I have had this mag for 2 years now and use it hunting and at the range with no malfunctions so far. So there you go guy's enjoy your new 6 round Pmag. If you need less room you might try leaving the spring uncut this might get you to your 5 rounds or you'll have to put a plug between the follower and spring. <thumbsup> -
Should of heard me at my brothers house, I think I was more entertaining than the game and that was during the first half of course.

I have people tell me to measure the carbon transfer and not the hole but since ON TARGET been out I've been using it to give a constant reference and eliminate the differences that people have to measure from.

I have a Pmag that I modified for 6 rounds I'll post some pics and how did it tomorrow works great and I didn't even have to pin the bottom. <thumbsup> -
I belong to several gun forums and this one is the one that most of my time is spent on, hell I can't even remember the last time I've been to Rimfire central and that forum would have the 2nd highest post count out all the forums I belong to this one is first as far as goes. I like how you guy's treat each other and willing to listen I only hope that some day we can all meet for some fun shooting and bullshitting. For some reason I feel I can talk to you guy's like a bro from work or a fishing buddy. Drew you and the staff have done a great job here <thumbsup> <thumbsup>

How do you blow a 28 point lead The chiefs pissed me off so bad I couldn't watch another game all weekend <nutkick> At least Missouri won the Cotton Bowl and played before the chiefs :loser: Well we'll try again next year. Maybe I'll cheer the hawks on for the last couple of games.

You need a Lee classic turret press bubba. Works great for pistol and rifle cartridges although brass prep for rifle is always a pain in the pooper. I just pull the indexing rod when I load rifle so the press becomes a single stage then put it back to load pistol.

I just use some car wax for release agent. Meguiars paste wax hasn't failed me yet used it for bedding the action on my Marlin 70. and a couple of other things just can't remember what. sucks getting old.

I just haven't had much to cheer about during the 2nd half of the season. So lets hope next week that I have a team moving on to the second week of the playoffs Go Cheifs

Made it to the pistol range yesterday with my wife and she kicked my butt in a game of battle ship and well pretty much the whole day but we had fun. I took my Springfield GI and my Hi-Standard pistols while the wife chose her GSG 1911 .22 and her Beretta 92 . Its been about 2.5 months since I shot my pistols last and it showed. Our first target was at 7 yards and I felt it wasn't to bad but defiantly needs improvement. It felt good to pull the trigger on my 1911 again and let me say John Browning was a genius with the trigger on that platform its kinda spoiled me so when I shoot anything else it takes a little longer to get used to the trigger. Next was the big jump we went from 7 yards out to 25 yards and this what we did I look like I hit the target with .45 cal buck shot I can't figure out why most of my shots are in between the 2 targets either sights or user error <dontknow> I was aiming at the left one by the way ::) My wife did pretty good nice group down low she just needs to raise her point of aim a little and she'll be there. Ok now its time for the game, she chose to shoot at the red targets and I had the green when we called the game she had 2 targets that hadn't been hit while I had 3 :loser: After that we hung one more clean target and did this Even though I got better through out the day I still need to work on my handgun skills. latter guy's

I'm a lefty and main thing for me was to make sure there was a brass deflector on the upper.
