Effects of Firearm Registration and Confiscation article
seasprite replied to george_995's topic in General Discussion
If you look at her to long you'll turn to stone. -
The way our house is laid out I would move the kids from there room to our bedroom as I cleared the house so everybody is in one location now if he enters any other part of the house I know no family members are not going to be in the line of fire because there right behind me. By the time this happens the police should of been notified by my wife and on there way and I would let them clear the outside. This does leave a problem where the bad guy just moves on to someone else when you could of stop him and I live in suburbiea. If I lived in a rural area I could see my self going outside to clear the property when it might be an hour or more before help gets there. Maybe I'm just over thinking this I have that problem now and then. :cookoo:

I'm glad the good guy wins this one but one of the statements just doesn't sit rite with me. QUOTE: As the man tried to get into one of the houses, the homeowner came out with a gun. When he spotted the suspect trying to break into the bedroom belonging to his daughters, ages 4 and 7, he started yelling. The homeowner told police the suspect started reaching in his waistband, as if he was about to draw a weapon. The homeowner said he felt threatened, so he opened fire. "It appears that his intent was to defend himself and his family," Phoenix police Officer James Holmes said. This makes it seems that he went outside to confront the suspect. I don't know what AZ castle doctrine is like but regardless I wouldn't of went outside. If the window would of been breached somehow then its game on with 230gr hollow points. Even the statement from the officer doesn't sound convincing that they weren't getting the full story. Who knows I maybe reading something into it thats not even there or the the media worded it to make seem that way. I don't know I'm glad the family is alright though.

Myth can you imagine the liability the powder co. would be dealing with having a squib round because the powder was 6 month old. Nice score on the press now the fun starts <thumbsup>

I know its not over for them but good going Ill. citizens here's a quote from the article that unforgiven posted. "When the decision was announced that supporters would not proceed with the legislation, opponents gathered in a House committee hearing room cheered and chanted in favor of the Second Amendment."

I would like to see the people of Ill. stand up and take there state back if they don't they'll get what they deserve for being complacent. One more thing how can something like this even be legal.

That in Marshal Mo. about an hour east of me. Would love to go and shoot there I'm going to see what I need to do to be member or if open to the public or what. And I agree looks to be a beautiful range and well maintained.

98z5v, You sure know how to give a guy range envy <thumbsup>. Most of my shooting is from a bench and only 100 yards but I did find out one hour east of me there is an range that goes out to 600 yards so this week I'm going to see if I can find out some info on it. Found this but need find some contact info. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=t%20bucksnort%20gun%20club&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CDQQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.swampworks.com%2Foos%2FOsageOrange-Photo-Best%2520of%2520Bucksnort.html&ei=4IfpUIiRLYqa2AWZuIH4Dg&usg=AFQjCNGWM6yiTkMN171jywBkEh9Htunuhw&bvm=bv.1355534169,d.b2I

Been trying to talk to people at work and other places but there all programmed in to thinking that the gov. will take care of them and do no harm and there is no need for high capacity mags or it won't effect me type of bull :cookoo: I wounder how far things have to go before people finely wake up.

Imschur you got to go brother nothing like dropping the stress of a hard weeks work like sending a few rounds down range <thumbsup>. You to edgecrusher all this talk about the current political problems that we have can drive a patriot insane nothing like bushing up on marksmanship skills and its fun too. Well all my improvements to the rifle held up and nothing fell off or broke today, ran flawless. <thumbsup> Went and zeroed my scope and decided on a 25 yard battle field zero but having a second thought about it <dontknow> out at a 100 yards with the 168gr A-Max I held at the second dot above the horizontal plane of the cross hair and was on target which should be right on with my thinking for using the mil dots to go out to 800 yards with an 300 yard zero using the holdover method ( I may need to watch the airborne training again) I'm definitely seeing an improvement in accuracy with factory 175gr PPU loads and my 168gr reloads. The 168gr loads look to have a .33 to .40 MOA now from the .50 to .75 MOA that I was getting. The problem today was when I was shooting the .33" group I started getting all giddy like a school girl and pulled 2 shots of the 5 oh well I guess I'll just have to try again ;D. No pics today fellas maybe next time want to practice a little more with this new zero I'm trying first.

Been working for UPS for 27 years and it seems were still growing with web and online sales. Monday we processed over 250'000 pkg's. during a 6hrs. period just at the building I work at. The reason we send handguns 2nd day is to keep from somebody being tempted to take it. A few years back an employee with an artificial leg was caught hiding a handgun in it and it wasn't his. Needless to say the least he had a nice trip downtown with some chrome bracelets.

You may be right I had to get my first pair of glasses this year. Yep my wife gave me the "if you buy anymore parts for that rifle" speech the other day. I'll think of something it will need here before to long. Haven't replaced the grip yet :o
