I shoot Vortex not the best not the worst by far but best bang for your buck I shoot a Vortex Viper HS-T 6x24x50 30 mm tube it just flat out works have done 30 inch ladder test passed A+ I have probably 350 rds with it dialing up dialing down zero stop is perfect have it mounted on a Larue 111 removable mount and it too is like all Larue stuff awesome and I shoot 6.5 CM out to 1250I am pretty good to 800 4 out of 5 hits on a 8 inch plate after that it is me reading wind that need practice the scope works comes with everything you need and a Life time no questions asked Guarantee... now what do I win?

Exercise what is it?is it something we do as humans because we do not have a life style that keeps us in shape? is it because we now have every, type of machine that does our work for us? before I got sick I loved to run nothing big nothing fast 20 to 25 miles a week at 9 min pace but I am almost 70 now and I have all my life been very very fit I was a timber faller for 25 years and basically did 6 to 7 hours of cardio with a 25 lb chain saw and 15 lbs of axe, wedges etc etc 5 days a week I was so fit I could eat 3 to 4 thousand calories a day and never gain a oz because on my off days I was scouting for elk ,hiking, camping cutting fire wood or some other thing that kept me in shape which brings me to my point have a life that keeps you in shape you can not make in shape in a gym or anywhere else it is a state of being you do all you can do it is not about how many or how far it is do it each and every day..... I can still pack 100lb elk quarters for miles not as fast but i get there. A life of fitness in both body and mind will pay big dividends later in life and also you will have issues from wearing stuff out but hey think of all the stuff you did in your life and drink a beer and smile......

LMFAO you guys are the very best the Cream of the crop all this fuss over a rock.....seriously it is the largest piece I ever Made the problem is working a 60 lb slab of rock turning over and over I worked a bit on it every day for about 2 months it is 31 and 1/4 inches long and sold for a very high price I love making the big blades but the stone is very hard to find without a crack in it...but thank you very much for the support as I get older it is harder to knap the big stuff and my eyes are just not what they used to be ..the T poop got a lot of attention when I went to shows the ladies liked it lol here are a few more large ones...and I found this picture of the big blade while it was being made....

yes it will but at 3 times the recoil and 5 times the cost to reload ,I have seen only a couple of 338's at the shoots here almost everyone is shooting 6.5 284 or some variation thereof....and that is out to 1300 yards......

what he said...that is all i would need is a 270- 30-06 mag for 6.5 284 all it is is a long 308 but you loose a lot of versitality if you run just a plain old 284 lenght bullet the whole idea is to take advantage of the new long wind bucking bullets... if it turns out for me to be to expensive to build a semi auto which would be a bummer then I will build a chassis bolt gun based on a ruger 270 M77 thumb safety... but I want a semi.....

well when you get down to details let me know I am serious about building a extreme long range semi auto that can reall do the job at 1000 plus....

well cheap fugly plastic I really don,t care it goes boom every time I pull the boomstick... and I never want to be shot with a 22 mag that is a nasty critter... it is light beyond belief.. which is perfect for a pack gun.....

you better pick up a few of these rifles before you buy they are heavy!!!!!! loaded and scoped with a 16 inch barrel average 10 lbs plus so if weight is no concern then have at it but everyone is always trying to shave weight when possible if you are going to hunt with it....good luck

43 grains of H4350 Fed 210 primer OAL of 2.830 in my 26 inch barrel makes 2810 out the front with a overall deviance of 6 to 9 and a 140 eld M is a very deadly load I have many 5 in a row at 800 yards on a 6 inch plate and oxygen bottles with the bottom cut out sitting on metal fence post use the top for headshots.....lol I love 6.5 CR but I am wanting more HP so I am wanting to build a 6.5/284 in a gas gun but not sure I can afford it I used to shoot 7mm STW loved it for a hunting round not so much for a ringing steel round but at almost 70 now I like the short rounds suppressed.....lol

wow what a great time you must be having would love to talk to Sawman about those scopes for hunting in these mountains great concept so 98 in your travels there who makes the reciever set that I could use to build a 6.5/284 would have to be a long action I do not care if it is side charge or whatever... I have a real urge to build this in a semi auto top of the line suppressed Magwa model lol hope you are having a great time.....
