You guys are going ot ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!
SPBCTS replied to alelks's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
The way it seems to read to me is that any activity directly related to obamacare cannot be used as a way to do the gun stuff. In other words, they can still do gun stuff unrelated to obamacare. But i may be reading this wrong. -
Well written, and directly to the core of one of our problems... We don't teach our children history in school anymore, not the kind of history that teaches and inspires citizenship, and the sense of awareness, responsibility, and duty that goes with it. History is critical.

It's getting hard to not take advantage of this sellers market.
SPBCTS replied to imschur's topic in Club House
i made a rule a few years ago, I don't sell guns, only buy. I've given two away, one to each son. I will admit to having been caught flat-footed on the AR-10 deal. My son and I have talked for years about it, before he joined the Army. We finally had the chance to buy one, and did...before the madness, but not, "before enough" The problem is I don't own any other .308, nor did he. So we never had a reason to buy .308 ammo...I have ammo for my other firearms, but exactly 1 box of .308. Can't even break in the barrel, <dontknow> So, we are on the outside of the .308 ammo fort looking in. I am not going to shoot garbage ammo through this rifle, (heck you can't even find it these day) so we are at the mercy of the times to get this rifle up and running. He is going to try to buy the scope with his tax return, (he also has a wedding to pay for, she has no family :() but until we can afford some decent ammo for the rifle we are gonna be stuck looking at it, because we just can't afford the prices people are asking for the good reloads, let alone match grade stuff. I don't blame anyone, nor am I upset with guys working the supply and demand...we are just caught between a rock and a hard place, and that is the way it is. -
I don't give this up very often, but I too write. I re-wrote the entire Field Training Officer Program, including manuals, evaluation forms, etc. for the Sheriff's Office back in the day. I also write other stuff. I would be willing to try to help.

I think this whole mess is like watching a worm move. We've seen the retail end dry up...but in the middle...the wholesalers...they are trying to evaluate if the demand is going to calm down. Because they have to deal with the guys back towards the other end...the manufacturers and all thier suppliers, clear back to the raw materials they produce with, where the worm hasn't moved. Then there is the other angle....greed. This is NOT a dig a F.A. but at the industry in general I talked today with a guy who works for a major, major big time ammo supplier who sells quality reloads all over the west at gun shows. They KNOW the people who they buy components from...like primers, powder, bullets, etc. There are 20 plus year relationships here, there ain't many secrets. They know that those people are sitting on stock and won't cut loose, for any price. They are waiting for the chance to make max. $$. IF this settles down, I don't think it will return to what we called normal for many years, if ever. There are some huge $$$ being made right now, and as long as there are people in a panic mode that $$$ is going to be there... I am a big believer in supply and demand, but panic is the one element that screws the system up. And we are up to our ears in panic, unlike anything I've seen in m 54 years.

Stain I agree. The investigators are not releasing what they know, for good reason. This will take time to shake out, but I suspect it will.

Sig Sauer P239 in .40 S&W. Really tickled about this.
-
Have had a chance to shoot it? Sounds like they are happy with it...
-
Update: She manged to try one on a week ago, in .40S&W. Loved it, accuraye too. Hers is now enroute. <thumbsup>It is a .40S&W, which makes me happy as the ammo fort already has one wall of that...

FBI focuses firearms training on close-quarters combat

AR10 upper Receiver vise block

This is very cool stuff. I wish I had your machining skills. I have the lathe and a mill and am learning...but self taught at 54 leaves a bit to be desired. -
FBI focuses firearms training on close-quarters combat

Hemi I couldn't agree more, we trained at F.I. position, then 7 yards, then 15 and 25 with the side arms...starting in about 1980. In my limited contact working with the FBI I wasn't that impressed...at all. -
Well, look at it this way. Evaluating those people based on what they wrote, and you can't help but realize people would have to be this ignorant to have voted for Obamunism in the first place. And now they, and the rest of us, are reaping what THEY HAVE sown for us. The big question is can the country survive 4 more years of this. I honestly don't know the answer to that question.

Okay, I am an idiot... who is DSG?
-
That is slick. It is a reminder that people out there are always thinking. I applaud them.
-
Godspeed, John. I look forward to hearing about the charity they choose...
-
Yeah I love that show and agree on the hotness of smart women. Those three are something else.

I understand the reasoning for this, and don't blame them at all. Ultimately, they are a business, and in business to make money. That is going to become harder and harder as the next few years unfold. If this isn't slowed down, businesses and private sector employment in general will look like the 20% version of what they do now, and there will be many, many companies who just are not there anymore.

Yeah no kidding. Yawn x2

It was an excellent article...as far as it went. I was waiting for the punch at the end....the one where the only logical conclusion can be reached. Our problem in this country isn't a lack of gun control, it is a lack of self control. A lack of personal responsibility, accountability, and a failure to engage in citizenship. We got here due too too little God, too much TV, and two few parents involved in the education of their children. We got here due to the socialist infestation of our public schools. We got here, in large part, due to 40-50 years of failure of liberal programs, liberal propaganda, and the most fundamental belief of liberals that government is a the answer to every problem. I could go on, but you get it.

Well written letter, congrats to Mr. Nugent for some thoughtful, logical and responsible ideas that are a dang good start, but that won't go anywhere. But he knows that. This is about power, and removing same from citizens transferring it to a large central authority. This is going to be a long 4 years my friends. We can hold back the tide by screaming at our reps in the house, and rolling over the majority in the senate in '14, but it is going to be a long, expensive difficult task....just to get this stuff stopped. To turn the ship of state away from socialism is going to take a couple of generations.

Amen. Sorry you got hung with that detail. I did a few of those, never fun. Sounds like the armed security guy saved a few lives in OldSac, I hope he gets recognized for it.

I am with robo on the "Askhole". Money is very, very, tight in my world for a number of reasons you guys don' wanna hear. My eldest son and I stepped hard for the new rifle. We got it in the nick of time. I get mad at the "friends" who had the cash and laughed at me when I told them we were approaching a different time and they needed to jump. I get the calls now. They whine, I have nothing to offer but tell them they need to wait and watch for a bit and see if things calm down. If I'd had their cash my needs lists would be filled out. As it is, we are just "okay". Okay is far better than going through your contacts list while praying.
