You listen to some of Prince's music, you can hear a relative of mine playing the violin.

    FNX45

Took the FNX out for the third time in two weeks. Have put about 300 rounds through it over these sessions. No FTEs no FTFs, Today I loaded 2 magazines with ten rounds each of a mixed bag of 230 gr ball, 230 JHP, and 185 JHP, and rapid fired one magazine, ejected, and loaded and rapid fired the second magazine at a target 20 yards away. I have some new tritium night sights installed, which were exceptional. They need to be lightly tweaked for my eyes, but were ok for this work. The gun ran flawlessly with acceptable accuracy for the mixed ammo. The 185's are all high. My goal was to test reliability, and I think I have proven that to my satisfaction that this pistol is incredibly reliable.

  4. Turned in my Sig SP2022 for a 44 mag Taurus Tracker. Small enough it doesnt show much bulge on a fat old fart like me, with five hollowpoint slugs, pretty confident it will take care of business.
  5. Rene glad you had such a good time. Wash, thanks for taking such good care of one of our brothers. Good people on this forum. Prayers are with you folks in Texas for your safety. Flooding is nothing to mess with.
  6. Ten years ago, we had a raccoon that came up on our deck and wouldn't leave. It was acting sickly, so that one I called the game warden on. Tests showed that it had distemper.
  7. That target 22 has the extra long tapered bull barrel. Took care of the matter nicely. At first I thought mink, because I saw a bunch of mink tracks around the house last week. Plus we have fisher, coyote and bobcat. Around here you never know what your gonna run into.
  8. Normally I don't worry too much around wildlife, as far as our dogs, except for wolves and coyotes. But yesterday I was inside and heard my wife screaming, so I grabbed the nearest firearm, which was a Ruger 22 target pistol, and went out the door. A muskrat, of all things had attacked one of our dogs, and had chased my wife indoors. First thing I thought with that 22 was: " thank God its not a bear." Well the thing hissed at me and stood its ground, and that was the end of that. Checked it over with rubber gloves on for signs of stress or rabies or distemper and called the vet. She checked vaccination logs for the dogs and recommended against having it tested for rabies, as they were all up to date, and it would cost me $400. The dog was ok except for one bite wound that fortunately was pretty open and not a puncture wound. We cleaned it out and have to watch her for infection. Makes me think I am going to have to exercise extra care and vigilance from now on. Guess you never know, though come to think of it, back in my duck hunting days, all the muskrats I ran into were bad tempered.
  9. What is troubling is that every simulated war game for the Baltic the Pentagon has run, shows that if the Ruskies move on Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, that the U.S. And Nato couldn't stop them the ways things are now. The Germans have mothballed all but 250 of their Leopard 2 tanks, and the Danes and the rest of NATO have unitlaterally demilitarized, and the U.S. Doesn't have the Armored Divisions in place anymore to do much about it, especially with the short supply lines the Russians have. Would we go nuclear? I doubt it. If you have a big mean neighbor right next door, better not depend on the neighbor 6 blocks away to protect you. You better be able to take care of yourself. Time for Europe to Man up so to speak, and look out for their own defense.
  10. JT, in those things you could CC your 7.62mm. AR Pistol! But damn they look comfortable, got to get me some!
  11. Like them too. Have a N frame model 28 357, but the 29's are just too expensive right now. How do you like the 629 as compared to the classic 29? Those are quite a bit cheaper.
  12. Talking about maybe a trip to the Clearwater next year. Hear the steelheading is great. Wife is from Idaho.
  13. Nope. Next week if it ever stops snowing. 9 inches yesterday.
  14. Naw, salmon fishing. Wanted something compact and light enough I could carry it fishing all day, yet had some ooomph to to it. One of us usually is tasked with lugging a 12 guage with high performance slugs, but you don't always fish right next to each other, and if it is 100 yards away in those alder thickets up there it doesn't do much good.
  15. Very nicely done. Don't think Simon and Garfunkel would complain at all.
  16. Doc Holiday(Val Kilmer in Tombstone) Wanted a S and W Model 29, but they have gone through the roof. Found this lightly used and traded a safe queen for it. Last time I was in the alders in Alaska, told myself if I ever went back I would get something like this. Now I got an excuse to go back to Alaska.
  17. If it doesn't break my wrist.
  18. Whoa Nellie!
  19. Got my FNX 45 from Sportsman's Guide. Saved $150 over just about everyone else at member price.
  20. Plane your right, Good idea to use only powders that overflow a case on a double charge. Cheap scales will give bad results. My old Lee manual scale would vary well over one grain. When I discovered that I DC'd it and picked up a digital scale.
  21. I have had really good luck with Selway, find that some of their really good prices makes up for no free shipping. Sportsman's guide tends to be a bit pricier to make up for free shipping, although I like them a lot. I have got some HSM 168gr BTHP molybendium coated 7.62 ammo from Selway a couple of years ago for just $16.99 / 20 that is still the most accurate factory load I have found.
  22. I'm I will wait for an IPad gun in 45acp with a 15 shot magazine. that is a joke, by the way.
  23. LMFAO!
  24. That is the best explanation I have heard.
  25. Or buy 10,000 16 in Barreled Compact SASS from Armalite for the same price.
