    Saw that quote, bookmarked it.
  2. I may have missed something already posted about this, if so, my apologies. I went back two years and did not see anything. I also checked a couple of other forums. What I am looking for is this: I have a lot of brass, mostly Winchester M-80 and Lake city M118 LR, and would like to work up a Case/bullet/powder/primer combination that approaches the ballistics and performance of the Mk319 Mod 0 round safely, if that is possible. I m guessing that that round uses every cup of pressure that can safely be used to get 2900 ft/sec out of a 14-16 inch barrel, even with only a 130 gr bullet. Not wanting to reinvent the wheel, I am going to cruise a couple other places to find any info I can, but I am guessing some one here has probably already tried or accomplished this. Look forward to your responses.

Looks really good. Ideally I will get some to try, then match up as close as I can in a reloaded bullet/brass combination. Because I have a lot of empty brass.
  4. My butcher does up a lot of bear, and always uses pork fat. I usually have him make up some garlic sausage and italian sausage links when I drop my deer off. Would love to nail this bear, but as Shepp knows, it take s a while to get a bear liscence in Wisconsin, and seasons over.
  5. supplemented by an occaisonal macrobiotic deer fawn.

Thanks for the heads up. Has anyone seen any advantages to the mk319 versus the M-80 rounds in actual use? I can buy 32 M-80 for that price, and my ammo budget is tight right now.
  7. It is official! My buddy Leroy above is now considered a "problem" bear. Apparently he has been getting into stuff he shouldn't in a radius of five miles! The USFWS willbe putting out some culvert traps and hopefully transporting him to a new location in the near future. So long Leroy, I barely knew ya.
  8. Nice write up Mag, enjoyed reading it. Congrats on a nice elk for the freezer. Just make sure all those smallmouth aren't taking up all the room. Our deer herd is in such bad shape, thinking of passing on the hunt this year. Glad you guys are in better shape that way, even with the wolves.
  9. ^^^+1
  10. Good tip JT just ordered it myself
  11. Welcome back. If nothing else, do the old standby, reduce the listed charge by 10% and work your way up looking for signs of overpressure. Glad I did when I was working with Lake City brass and Reloader 15.
  12. Every time I go in a gun store, I start thinking it is time to go back to work and earn some money.

  14. No but he has a good perspective.
  15. http://fox6now.com/2015/10/29/mans-facebook-post-about-traffic-stop-goes-viral/ You don't hear about it when it works like it is supposed to. Which is probably 99% or more of the time.
  16. This topic has turned out to be a good excuse for some gun porn. Always nice to look at.
  17. I have a gas block adapter, so if I want I could mount it up there as well. Now you got me thinking Blue, and that is a dangerous thing.
  18. Bring your good Mojo and stay away from the Devils Cucumber.
  19. A local store had one for $675! Gonna wait.
  20. That is exactly how I am going to set up my Standard AR10B rifle. By the way you should have a good bead on that crock pot or rice cooker, or whatever it is at the end of the counter.
  21. You have every reason to be proud gramps, they are fine looking grandchildren. Have to wait a while myself, I didn't become a Dad until I was 46.
  22. This is the setup for my AR10T carbine. Have to get another sight for the rifle before I can post.
  23. You might be right, But then I might extend my scope zero out to 200 yards. At 100, I find the red dot (or in this case, green dot) pretty accurate. I will have to play around with it a bit
  24. that is what I am thinking. Plan to sitght it in for 75 yards.
  25. That would work, but I might end up like this guy if I had to choose between three optics. I decided I am going to set it up for my son. Because of a lens deformity I have to adjust the scope differently than he does, so I leave it for him to shoot most the time.
