  1. Sorry about your Dad. A friend of mine has what is called pre ALS, he’s 70 like me. It is a struggle. Did your Dad drive an M48 or an M60 in Vietnam? Do you know what is enough 1911’s? Answer: One more than what you have.
  2. Say Hi to Bart at the Floribama Bar. I went to school with him.
  3. Bubba, about four years ago, I started noticing that I was having ammo issues in 22’s that had always been reliable. My son started noticing the same thing. To be blunt, I think a lot of 22 lr manufacturers are simply putting out crap now. I have had some batches where I had a third misfires or jams! To name names, Federal, Winchester, and Browning. No problem yet with Remington, but I have stopped buying any 22 lr except CCI. And presto, all my problems went away.
  4. 100-200 yards. That is all I currently have access to. Working on joining a club that has a 600 yard range.
  5. That is good stuff. When I am not shooting handloads of Sierra 168 or 175 gr BTHP’s, that is the stuff I buy. And Privi is a close second. So close I probably wouldn’t notice the difference. Matt or 98 might, but not at the distances I normally shoot.
  6. Federal has to buy those Sierra Match bullets from Sierra, albeit at a discount. I am guessing they make their 147 gr FMJ in house, without near the quality control Sierra is using for a match bullet. That right there will cause a large price differential.
  7. He ever come back?
  8. Took them to the range today. 200 rounds and 2 hours of fun! The full size was right on the money at 10 yards, the 922 needed sight adjustment, but now is locked in as well. Both guns came with front sight inserts and allen wrenches so you can adjust elevation, as well as drift the rear sight for windage. Just a couple of FTF’s, as I learned you need to position rounds in the magazine correctly, especially the first round to feed. After that no problems with CCI Mini Mags. I was using silouhette targets, and could consistently put shots into the smaller red circle for headshots at 10 yards. Next time out, 25 yards. So, $15 on ammo today instead of $65. Saving the extra for a 10mm 1911.
  9. IThat is unacceptable since I am guessing we have the same problem where I live. I am going to do some digging and then talk to my State Senator and Assemblyman next week. It is a safety issue for the officers and constituents as well. I don't recall where I heard about this, but it sounds like a.good.cause to take.up.
  10. You can find them on the Internet for as low as $221 for the full size.
  11. Kinda 1911’s in 22 LR.
  12. Welcome, nice looking rifle!
  13. The first a registered dealer, the second a private party. Both new unfired. $450 total for both.
  14. If one is good, two is better, right? Got such a smokin hot deal I had to get two. One replicates my full size 1911 and the other my Officer 1911. These GSG's feel exactly the same as a full size 1911. Will be visiting the range tomorrow and give a full report.
  15. Doesn’t matter where they move him. Got a feeling his azz is grass. https://wxow.com/news/top-stories/2019/01/15/man-accused-of-kidnapping-jayme-closs-moved-to-different-jail/
  16. Admit I have thought about a KSG shotgun.
  17. My back yard. A nice white pine with a sturdy limb for the rope would do. There would be no shortage of volunteers to pull the lever. The boonies up there have some true weirdos. They seem to crawl out now and then.
  18. As Kirk said about the 22lr. “I need more power Scottie.”
  19. That works
  20. Okay, I was going to say you qualify for the “Cheesehead Trooper” homie discount. But those probably aren’t allowed any way.
  21. Yep!
  22. Schlitz changed their formulation in the 70’s. Became crap. Caused its demise.
  23. Agree you guys need a raise. I might give you a deal on my PMR when I am back up there this spring if you are interested.PM me in April if you are.
  24. I have a Kel Tec PMR 30 and like it. Just don’t shoot it enough.
