  1. That's what I've got right now, and would rather not buy new powder if I don't have to. Finally getting ready to gear up to reloading 308 :)
  2. I dunno, i'd think its more likely to be a gangland hit than terrorism. Its not like even the muslims are dumb enough to piss china off on purpose, and the plane was mostly Chinese citizens.
  3. I've just in the last few days found it for $16.99 online, but after shipping it probably comes to that
  4. I carry a revolver :)
  5. well, the ejector seems to push the bullet out, the shell was sticking to the bolt but pointed to somewhere around 2 o'clock looking down from the top
  6. yeah, after asking I went and looked :) pretty cool really. I may buy one of those once I have the spare $
  7. there are many positions she could fill for me.
  8. hmm I wonder if they do it for the others, I have a .44 1860 army on the way, and an 1863 navy in .36
  9. Yeah, that was a temporary fix just to see if it would work, Rob is mailing me a set already, thanks though!
  10. no the barrel and bolt don't seem to usually have much issue with what magazine, its usually more about the magazine well and what seats correctly in it. And definitely if you're having the barrels made, or have a working 308 bolt/barrel combo and are having the 6.5 made, you can just send them that bolt to do the headspacing.
  11. Welcome from FL. The thing you'd lose on the hunter by putting a 15" free float and iron sights is that weight savings you're starting with, leaving no real advantage to buying the hunter in the first place. Unless your heart is totally set on the G2 though, it might be better to look at the other options just because that weapon system is so new there will be very limited 3rd party anything for it, and there may be issues with it that aren't apparent so far.
  12. I believe its probably equivalent to the "using an AR10 barrel in a LR308", to where you need to match the barrel with the bolt. so for a RRA barrel, use an RRA bolt. The carrier should be the same on any of them. in the end if you are going to switch calibers if you get a custom / semi custom barrel made you can send in your bolt and they'll headspace to match.
  13. the main thing is it says "Bartlein AR10 Barrels S.S. 6.5mm 24". so unless they meant its an LR308 and are using AR10 for commonality, you may have some headspace issues (or other issues) if you try and use it with a DPMS upper/bolt/etc.
  14. it was loose and moved fine without the spring. Seems to be in working order now, but I still need to make it to the range. Daylight savings time hurt me yesterday :)
  15. well, after compressing the spring with a set of lockjaws, and removing the o-ring, it seems to at least with empty shells eject them by pulling the charging handle back. I'll go to the range with it tomorrow and see
  16. a rubber o-ring around the spring, removing it feels no different. I don't think there are any d rings in that area, I have it all apart and didn't see one. What I did notice though is that the spring almost doesn't compress at all, with or without the o-ring, even out of the carrier...
  17. whats sort of interesting about this is at the same time another judge struck down California's "may issue" deal with CCW permits, and now is forcing them to be a "shall issue" state.
  18. yeah, with it being free in the first place, if I end up having to spend the $15 for a new extractor, its not a big deal. I think I have some emory cloth out in the garage, that would probably work decently. except...with the pin out, there doesn't seem to be any binding anywhere when I push it down. even with a slightly smaller diameter pin punch pushed in, its still hard to budge the extractor, unlike on the other BCGs I've handled. Could the spring be too strong?
  19. nearest decent store is a half hour drive :P
  20. who has cheap shipping on those? I hate ordering that stuff and paying twice as much for shipping as the parts
  21. Sometimes when customers return things to Shadow Ops, I get to keep them, free. Among the stuff lately has been a black nitride BCG. Its issue reported was failure to eject. I played with it, and the extractor is really really stiff, virtually impossible to make move at all with a finger. in a upper with no lower attached, an empty shell would get picked up by the extractor, but never released so ideas? do I try to replace the springs / rubber piece? or is it more likely something else? replace the entire extractor?
  22. Welcome from FL
  23. I dread doing mine, I haven't gotten money back in a decade at least
  24. dang, I would have given you $7 a box ;)
