  1. the bolt carrier group is the same. If what you're talking about are the serrations up the side like on the AR15, there aren't any 308 BCGs made that way.
  2. that does not sound like a fun day at all
  3. what i'd like to see is the equivalent of the 458 socom, but upscaled to use the 308 as the base :)
  4. In Tampa. I used to work for a company out of Troy, so i'd drive through your area. That was a long time back though. I miss hitting up some of the BBQ places on the way :)
  5. nah, I'm trying to build exotic on the cheap :D with Shadow Ops doing the 308 lowers, soon uppers, bolt carriers and quad rail, I can get most of the components pretty cheap. So if I need to spend some extra on barrel and getting the bolt face remachined, that isn't too bad. The 338 federal seems like it should be simple to do to add some extra punch. I'd like to do something in a 50 cal, but for that its definitely going to require me finding a machinist to make the barrel (we're still not doing that, when we build a full rifle we use FN barrels)
  6. that is a cool rear sight, other than maybe its price :)
  7. between that and the damned wolves, there is absolutely 0 question in my mind
  8. Colion Noir on open carry http://www.mrcolionnoir.com/right-to-carry/open-carry-demonstrations/
  9. Another 2 I never thought of previously, but do have some decent stuff is Harbor Frieght and Tractor Supply
  10. 2 of the MOE stock + buffer sets from PSA and another ar15 lower that I have no idea what i'm going to do with
  11. I bought 2 of the MOE stock + buffer tube kits. at that price ($58), its buying the moe stock, and them throwing in a free buffer tube/spring/buffer/end plate.
  12. the concept for me is, that concealed carry does 0 as a deterrent. But if a douchebag walks into somewhere that people are open carrying, its an immediate deterrent. I'm not looking to get to shoot someone who is a bad guy, i'm looking to avoid myself and others around me being a victim of a bad guy and open carry does more for that even if it scares the sissies.
  13. they need that here in FL
  14. No, we have standards ;) these aren't actually manufactured by us, but by Elite Tactical Advantage.
  15. probably, at the very least it definitely uses a proprietary wrench :) I wonder if there are any of the RRA guys here in Florida to check it out with and see if its modifiable to fit.
  16. I'm not sure on that. Once I get a sample of one myself, I'll send off the barrel nut to one of you RRA guys to try out :)
  17. not yet, literally those pictures are of the first completed and anodized one. We'll have some pretty soon though.
  18. you have a pre-2009 upper? the low profile is what DPMS currently produces.
  19. I did verify its low profile, but still don't have measurements yet
  20. if you look at the top picture, the top rail is at the bottom right. so although the sides + bottom are tapered, the top is continuous rail. I'm not positive on the height, checking into that too. I'd guess low profile as that is current dpms production but i'll verify.
  21. no kidding, it would definitely be one of them then. The only one close uses their own custom 12ga cartridge which isn't something I want to get involved in. Plain old 2 3/4 inch shotgun shells will fit up the magwell....
  22. Oh I meant how much lower than that, since the 4000 was the lowest on there. I'm thinking automobile usage :)
  23. We're launching them here first to give anyone who needs one a chance to get in on the introductory pricing. I have to wait till we're anodizing them in FDE to get one for myself ;) Not sure how long they'll stay at this price, we've got the initial run of 50 ready and want to get them in people's hands to get feedback and pictures of them mounted on rifles :) the link is here http://www.shadowopsweaponry.com/products/249-shdw-rsh308.aspx
