interesting, thanks! i'm looking at maybe getting a foot long piece of aluminum pipe, then its just finding caps for the ends. I might run by goodwill though to see if there are any good pots to use, that's a decent idea too
  2. don't all women do that?

yeah, i'm considering looking at other options than the can, but that same basic design. I was looking at my grill and if I want to do it so that the smoker is removable I can use the rotiserrie holes, but i'll need to do something more tray like than pipe like as the vertical clearance on the one side is short and on the other side i'd have to have something supported the whole height. I think Saturday i'll go wander through the plumbing sections at home depot + lowes. Like i'd like the smoke path to come out the side of it rather than the top, that way the top is openable to add extra wood chips during the cook. I'm sorta thinking about drilling a hole instead, so I can run it with the rotisserie in place. A whole chicken with mesquite smoke and a garlic brine on a low heat sounds really good, but it will take all day :D

I'm thinking I may start off with one of these on my gas grill since its only a $10 investment or so

the dorm fridge makes sense. I was wondering how well a normal not particularly well sealed grill will work

you know, I think the smoke daddy was what I was looking for, but I searched for smoke gun, other terms and I never found it, that thing was the closest one. It seems like it might work ok for doing small things I do have a pretty nice grill, plumbed into the house natural gas. I WANT to just buy a propane smoker and convert it and plumb it in, but the wife won't let me. So with the smoke daddy you just use a hole saw and permanently mount it? its a Jenn Air, basically like this so with the smoke daddy you can run it cold, but can you also run it with the grill on? or is it cold only?

have any of you used something like this? its a cold handheld smoker http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K572J8O/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER considering it
  8. I bought some ring of fire hot sauce, their steak sauce and some bourbon hot sauce. I used to buy the ring of fire at a local store that has since closed down. not as much fun as gun parts, but still pretty nice if you've never tried it before.
  9. hmm now I ought to check mine to see. need to pop the a2 front sight off first. I guess it will have to wait till the weekend
  10. take out a die grinder, chop that thing off right in front of the gas block, and you've got a nice rifle :D
  11. Ok, on Matrix build, using the AR10 LPK but dpms barrel/bcg/bolt, would this stock/buffer setup work? http://www.amazon.com/UTG-AR308-Buttstock-Complete-Assembly/dp/B00IL1BJJG/ref=sr_1_5?s=gift-cards&ie=UTF8&qid=1439321437&sr=8-5&keywords=308+buffer My assumption is that it would since the upper components are all done DPMS style, and leaving out armalite being armalite, a freaking tube is a tube. 2nd question is whether this stock is appropriate for that m110 style buttstock adjuster/extender?
  12. ok so where can I get one of the adjustable A2 stocks ? I don't think I've seen those before honestly
  13. what's funny is, I don't use a cleaning rod for cleaning, but I keep one in the range bag

    Armalite

is there an armalite AR10 LPK that comes with the NM trigger available?
  15. Actually rather than just the top 10 list, I think we should do a top 3 each at under $50, 50-100, above $100 some of us don't have a $180 budget for a muzzle device :D
  16. that part should only affect perceived recoil and not affect the forward motion of the bcg, although it is a problem. realistically, the "plus" is that if you every so often rotate the buffer it will end up pounding itself out so long as it doesn't break the retainer in the process :D other thing you can do is machine the ring around it to the depth of what is already pounded out and it should be fine
  17. mine is waiting at my FFL to pick up :)
  18. that's what she said
  19. i'll be needing one soon, for the Matrix build
  20. I ordered a 16" AP4 308 from Chris along with the upper/lower/rail, I hadn't thought about the 338 federal. I wonder who I could sell that off to for cash for the federal
  21. we've got a fair number of nests locally, they spent a lot of effort putting the nest "bases" on top of poles in the area a few years back
  22. honestly virtually any decent barrel will do under 1" at 100. and shooting to 600? You could use a 14.5" barrel with a pinned muzzle brake and do no virtually the same as a 24" barrel. Its when you get out past 800 that it starts to matter
  23. Same here. nice, solid, return to a perfect 0 Got a set off amazon for around $45 one time.
  24. crazy white ISIS supporter on the terrorist watch list
  25. I'll be emailing you for a total on Wednesday Chris. The getting paid every 15th really sucks, even if it is a big check :D
