  1. I've left the one I bought sitting on my desk instead of putting it away in the safe or on the gun parts shelves. It's pretty :)
  2. I got mine, can't quite find the blemish, looks really good
  3. sign me up for next on the list after you, cause I have an upper to put together too that I keep dragging my heels on :)
  4. you can get a LUTH-AR for that http://www.luth-ar.com/
  5. I can't really tell yet. It has the one advantage of "mark everything read" but overall it kinda sux
  6. damn the prices aren't bad either
  7. that needs to scroll off the page. I get nauseous just seeing the picture :D
  8. if you can hold one for me till the 15th, i'll take one, I get paid once a month so this last week is always iffy for extra spending
  9. there really is no reason that the 308 rails should cost as much more as they do over AR15s
  10. yeah, being at the loose end of tightness tolerance, plus the combination of aluminum vs steel heat expansion could easily do that
  11. it would not hurt to loosen + retighten it
  12. Did you use a torque wrench on the barrel nut? and did you do the tighten then loosen and repeat a couple times before the final?

    HEY

You understand that part of why it is upbeat, positive and strongly tied together is that it is a pretty limited traffic site and we don't have (or allow to stay) just anyone, or anyone who doesn't get the rules of behavior.
  14. i'd forgive her for that
  15. now it says "contact us for availability" oh well
  16. well, I ordered 20 :D

yeah, I put on a heavy jacket to grill in 50 degree stuff. Still sticking only in the 70s here now
  18. This VW flipped over at 183 mph... amazing that much of it is left. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2009/07/02/fire-bug/ he had this rear differential in it... http://www.turbonique.com/1000-hp-turbo-booster-axle/
  19. loved him in Battleship
  20. there's only a few lower parts that are different, the trigger/pins, safety, detents, buffer tube, castle nut are identical but mag release, bolt catch are different as is the buffer + buffer spring. On the uppers the only piece that would be the same is the forward assist.
  21. Well, part of that is the whole barrel question. That barrel on it is the same as on their semi, so safe guess is it's a $400+ barrel alone. you'd need to be a machinist with a lathe able to deal with a 30" blank to be able to build the maadi griffin for under $500 It is a bit freakish, but that is also how old canons used to work too. What I like about the idea is that it will force me to shoot slow enough to not blow my bankroll on ammo in the first 5 minutes :D
  22. Yep, it has to be capable without adding extra parts of reaching 26. What is surprising is that they don't care if its fireable or not with the stock folded. You'd think that would be part. So an uzi with a 16" barrel doesn't nearly make 26" with its stock folded. here's the data on an uzi with the factory 10" barrel so at a 16" barrel add 6". only 24.5 with the stock folded, still legal and still fireable like that. its again one of the inconsistencies of the ATF rules Length445 mm (17.5 in) stockless470 mm (18.5 in) folding stock collapsed640 mm (25 in) folding stock extended[1]Barrel length260 mm (10.2 in)[1
  23. you should be fine. plenty of other people have used those lowers. it is a pity you're doing it with the flux core, but it will still work. just be cautious if you are grinding it down to clean up after that you don't grind to the point of weakening the welds. At least with these, the primary angle of force isn't along where the welds would pop. Really not that much force on a lower anywhere except at the buffer tube attachment. I would recommend welding the castle nut in vs threading too
  24. Rudy is a nice guy, I've only dealt with him online but he's a good one. I could take a trip down to see Ron, palmetto is maybe a 45 min to hour ride. I've been wanting one for a while.
