  1. You'll need the following for a barrel install: -Knight's barrel extension wrench -Barrel nut wrench (adapter to go on torque wrench) -Torque wrench (10-100ft-lbs range) -Molybdenum (moly) grease (make sure no graphite in it), aeroshell 33ms is popular -Breaker bar
  2. We don't need to wait for that. Just look at the Ukrainians holding the Donetsk airport. They've been besieged there longer than the Germans attacked Stalingrad!
  3. Guess this is what your "reserve" troops look like when all your "good" troops are fighting in Ukraine (and aren't doing well either...). Sure showed that building though! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIC2lI2Exys
  4. If Randall gets too busy I HIGHLY recommend Marvin Pitts (Nefarious Arms). He's one of the few real SR-25 armorers and is the go to guy for ball milling/dimpling. I had him cut down an 18" MWS barrel to 16", dimple, and cerakote my MWS barrel. My work was about $300.
  5. AR-10: -Noveske N6 LR-308: -Rainier Arms RA308 -Aero Precision M5E1 -KAC SR-25k -KAC SR-25BR (battle rifle, preceded EM Carbine) -Seekins Precision SP-10 -DRD M762 -DRD G762
  6. It's like KAC including the vanilla milspec grip on their rifles. They know you're going to change it out anyways to your preferred flavor so they just stick a cheap, but decent one in there (ALG QMS, which I happily put into another gun). Yes, the stock travel length is the standard 6 position as with an AR-15 carbine receiver extension. I replaced it with a VLTOR A5 7-position and later a POF 7-position anti-tilt to get a shorter LOP.
  7. Edge's got a factory rifle, as do I ;)
  8. I think you're missing the whole context. On the surface and only narrowly focusing on "does it fit" yes, there is some caution that should be used, that said if you look at both of the rifle gas systems there's just a slight difference in the gas port location (<0.5") that doesn't amount to much since the pressure change per distance is much less once you get that far out (not like going from a carbine length to a mid-length location). Since the buffers weigh the same and the receiver extension is the same length, the springs must be very similar. Just because one spring is a bit longer or has more coils doesn't necessarily mean it has a wildly different spring rate. You'd probably have more variation when swapping around springs on an AR-15 (flat wire, to chrome-silicon, to extra power...) There's plenty of margin. You'll notice that one of your references (Slash) recommends using the AR-10 spring and rifle buffer for LR308 rifles since they're interchangeable. The AR-10 action spring wasn't engineered to work with the AR-10 carbine system, rather the AR-10 carbine system was engineered to work with the AR-10 action spring. The AR-10 system naturally achieves what the VLTOR A5 system does for the AR-15. Maintaining the rifle spring in a carbine format. The LR308 carbine spring is necessarily different from the rifle spring due to the shorter travel of the AR-15 carbine receiver extension.
  9. If the rifle receiver extensions are interchangeable, and the buffers are interchangeable, then the action springs are also interchangeable.
  10. Not bad, but I spy some errors... GII rifles use an LR308 buffer system. The parts are interchangeable. See bottom two lines of the following chart: In general you CAN use an AR-15 stock on a .308 AR. It may not lock up on the most closed position however depending on the receiver extension used. I use others with the A5 and have verified this (LMT MWS receiver extension, POF 7-position receiver extension, and PWS EBT .308 receiver extension). Some PA-10 kits came with LR-308 pattern buffer systems. Since it wasn't specified earlier, with a rifle/A1/A2 receiver extension the rifle buffer and action spring are identical between the AR-10 and LR308. DPMS LR308 GII included.
  11. One guy who came here had a set that didn't work.
  12. BCM Mod 3 large latches for me!
  13. You'll need to get a BCG that matches the barrel extension of whatever barrel you get. If it's a LR308 (DPMS) barrel you'll need an LR308 BCG, if it's an AR-10 barrel you'll need an AR-10 BCG. You'll need an SR-25 specific barrel nut. Boltcarrier.com has the SR-25 specific URX 3.1 rail in stock.
  14. Aero Precision's barrel looks like a good light-er weight option too. If you already have that heavy buffer you don't really need an adjustable gas block. BCM or Geissele will do (although unless you really need to pin it I don't see an advantage to spending more on the Geissele). Why a flash hider over a compensator? The AR-15 carbine length buffer is correct for his setup since he's doing an AR-10 pattern buffer system.
  15. Nope not normal. It should've been torqued to at least 35ft/lbs.
  16. I wouldn't worry about it. The British are issuing Magpul mags with their L129A1 rifles (LMT MWS).
  17. It also gets vented through the space around the charging handle back into your face. This is usually an issue with suppressed guns, but can happen with unsuppressed ones too (I've had it happen to me). It'll help with that.
  18. KAK Industries also has a carrier with FA cutouts.
  19. Yup, those parts will work. They're AR-10 pattern parts. I put the same extension on my PWS.
  20. Unless you care about cutting weight wherever possible I'd just leave the normal FA in there. It'll still be able to work against the shoulder between the front and rear halves of the carrier (but just that one spot lol). If you really want to replace it you can get one of those AR Gas Vents.
  21. Elite Iron Revolution Bipod only $507.50 shipped with coupon code "Friday30." No more excuses! =P
  22. Not always. I had a popped primer once that jammed in the buffer retainer detent track of the BCG that prevented me from getting the upper off of the lower by just popping the pins. I finally broke it loose with some a crap ton of mortarting.
  23. Quiet Riot Firearms has Prvi Partizan .308 200rnd battle packs on sale for $119.99. Use code "blackammo14" to get free shipping! While I didn't need any .308, I did pick up a case of Wolf 7.62x39mm HP for $199.99 shipped!
  24. ::) <- This is my shocked face... Not surprised at all. Don't think they ever advertised it as being LR-308 compatible though. You do seem to be the first having an issue when both a PA10 upper and lower are used together though.
