  1. OK Dane, I'm not digging thru 637 posts: What have u got to say about break-ins?
  2. More Badgers....
  3. If you found a 10-CT on GB for 1400, I'd snag it. Throw on some mounts to your very favorite scope and get to the range. Nice find. The only other I'd look at in the 1400 range is an M&P 10, other than that, ?
  4. Dislikes: Heavy, but that's the nature of these beasites. IIRC, the 20 rd mag when loaded come sin at 5 lbs.. in itself. Likes: most every other aspect of it as already noted. In my backyard, and not across the pond. I think Mr. Stoner would be proud.
  5. I have never liked the 22s, in any gen.: the most inconsistent shooting Glocks I've never been happy with. Do the Gen4s have the dual stage RSA, and are you guys running lights on yours?
  6. Welcome from BadgerLand
  7. Yeah, I hear ya...in '87 we trained a bunch of Hondurans F.O.T.B.. Confusing as all hell, as COs wanted them to be squad leaders but they couldn't speak english. We shipped em to SOA from us.
  8. Feedback was: they had no idea why they'd need THAT big of an ammo order, and the guesstimates for Postal Inspectors across the US were put between 3 & 4000, but nobody knew for sure.
  9. Nice! You can buy the stuff in bulk and homebrew! That's what we do for bow-hunting camos, using fleece. This is a great new source-thanks!
  10. Sweet! Funker rules, charlie rocks!
  11. Welcome! Your question is needing a budget qualifier: how high end you willing to spend?
  12. Al-Qaeda actually-same "rebels" who helped us defeat the Russians in 80s Afganistan, Charlie Wilsons war...
  13. Hey Shepp, I'm in S. WI too: hit that bigger shop in Madison on W. Wash., IIRC it's a Trek store too right on the train tracks/old depot...
  14. That "Law Abiding" citizen is some funny chit right there... <thumbsup>
  15. Curious to follow and see what they purchase, and how much. Printed this off for a Postal friend who is taking it to work for a talk with management and their Union. The USPS already has their own LE Division, they may need ammo., but will they "order" 700,000 rounds of 7.62 x 39 ? I forget which agency last fall "ordered" 600,000 AK mags...?
  16. Bullets, bread, and butter: nobody ships for free!
  17. Yup, dryfire target practice at the TV villains, left-handed.
  18. Meh, some NRA BP is pretty affordable: here's the basics for free- (5) Basics: Grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control. If you can get those fundamentals down AND be consistent with them, your muscle memory will eventually take over after a few thousand rounds. One danger of the inter-webs: everybody is an Instructor. IIRC, Ayoob is over on GlockTalk, he's the only one I'd lend an ear to..
  19. Just finished a very frustrating process with an older student, shooting left eye and rt. handed. 60-something years old, refused to shoot left handed, refused to update/grade his glasses, but had decent baseline for the fundamentals. I suggest shooting left handed, or updating eyeglasses so you can shoot with your rt. eye. Figuring out eye dominance is one of 1st steps in NRA Basic Pistol class. Ask around for referrals to a GOOD NRA Basic Instructor, who also has some more advanced teaching. Take the Basic class-there is a class locator on the NRA website, for your area. Your predicament is difficult but taking my recommendation applies more pros, for many more scenarios than just target shoots. OTOH, your targets are not bad either, for basic defense. <thumbsup>
  20. Checking in from Stateline area. BTT...
  21. Well it's been a combo...over 25 years ago with Army Reserve I was not overly impressed with the SP-1s we ran. Started hunting with a Rem. 742 in .308 many years ago as a grommet. Before the 2nd coming of BHO '12 I found a deal on a Colt M4, and was really impressed with the advances from the unit rifles, from long ago. Figured it was time to look at Mr. Stoner's .308s. I'd been target glancing different .308 platforms to replace the old 742, for probably 5 years now. Would have been primarily for deer hunting, but I found the 10-T and came to see the paper punching at 800-1000m was more than just possible. 10-T fits a niche in between the Colt and the Browning (bolt) M-1000 Eclipse in .300WM. Thanks for a great site. :ecs:
  22. One of my babies: The SIG TR slide, 10-8 rear sight, TLR, Ergo grips homestyle scooped.....passed the dreaded extractor test.
  23. To "make a difference" become a fireman, trust me. Being a smaller fireman is actually an advantage. Competition here in WI for LE jobs is tight: several agencies laid off deputies with years of experience, and those folks are getting first swing at openings, w/o street experience the next hired are MIL as they get the extra 15 hiring points in ratings, next are the 4 year degree folks who are state certified. You have a great retirement system out west though. If you are former MIL with a 4 year CJ/SCI degree, you're pretty much a shoo-in...
