  1. Or touch off a burst that startles the camel and it decides to throw off the pesky human on its back.
  2. @sketch I've got 60 clean and shiny 50 BMG cases sitting in a gallon ziploc bag. For whatever the going price on them is they are yours if you want them
  3. Those are called barrel stuffers! Bet you can't shoot more than one without major curse words spewing forth. Or at least you better not shoot more than one.
  4. ^^^ This. I still use the Lee clear red funnel I got way back when with my single stage press kit. It works fine for me with everything from 223 up to 375 Socom.
  5. My main reason to go to wet tumbling was to get away from the lead tainted dusty mess. You don't realize how bad it is until you see the water go into the tumbler clear, and come out black. A good lung full or two of that toxic dust every time you tumble cases can build up over time.
  6. With LC brass, 8208 XBR powder, CCI LRP and the 150 Hornady FMJ bullets, I was getting close to MOA accuracy with my handloads.
  7. Wet tumbler with stainless steel pins, Dawn dish soap, and Citric Acid powder(the working ingredient of brass polish) and they come out sparling inside and out. Gotta deprime rifle cases first though. After they are completely done being processed a 30 minute dry vibro tumble in Walnut lizard bedding with a dab of nu-finish car polish and they gleam. Ask @98Z5V, @Sisco how I know.
  8. Give it a dab of flat black paint and carry on. Chances are with it being that close to the upper nothing will be attached there anyway.
  9. Barrel length? Gas system length? (pistol, mid, rifle) Gas tube length? Receiver extension internal depth? Buffer length and weight? Recoil spring relaxed length, number of coils, and wire diameter? Where the gas tube ends in the cam pin cutout? Read this thread and fill in the rest of the info We can't even begin to guess with the little bit of info we have so far.
  10. Another mystery solved! Dun Dun Dun <--mystery movie sound effect
  11. ...and its the buffer weight that is the easiest to change when you need more @ss to control the gas
  12. Those look like fang marks from the feed ramp edges.
  13. Yep, in theory. But aim small miss small.
  14. Sorry to be so formal Elmer.
  15. Yeah, but there is this. Quoting the article: The target’s dimensions (120 inches by 92 inches) made it 1.54 MOA wide and 1.18 MOA tall at 4.4 miles. If that rifle is 2 or 3 MOA at that distance, how many misses would that end up being? Plenty of Fudds in the woods every fall happy with "bottom of ice cream bucket" accuracy from their deer rifles.

It looks like you can still get in on some fall fishing before heading south for the winter.
  17. Just for comparison: Picture robbed from my 375 Socom thread. Left to right. 5.56 6.5 Grendel 300 BLK 375 Socom Thats a 55 gr 223 and a 110 gr Varmageddon in the BLK. Granted it isn't a side by side comparison, but you can see the ogive of the BLK isn't to far forward of that same diameter on the 223 case. A good slam forward on a non-crimped case can get you in trouble.
  18. Short little 110 grain bullets like a varmageddon in a non crimped case COULD set back far enough into the case to allow the bolt to close and lock up. That is why I never load 223 and 300 BLK at the same time. 223 goes in FDE mags and BLK goes in black to further prevent confusion.
  19. Google search Smokestang.
  20. Now your talking.
  21. Welcome to the 308 AR world of no milspec. Where you can begin a build with all the major parts from the same manufacturer thinking your good to go, only to find said manufacturer fukced up one of the parts.
  22. All I've used are the 20 round P-Mags for 308. They all held 20 rounds and every round fed and went boom.
  23. Wow! 4 posts and you have this place completely figured out! Amazing! Sorry to inform you but the elders of this forum ARE the authority of this platform. They have probably fixed and got functioning more 308 sized ARs than most manufacturers. Especially since the manufacturers prove time and time again that they often have no clue how to get these things to work all the time every time. These guys fix rifles over the internet using techniques they've learned spending their own time and money, over the course of years, and they do it for free! All that is asked is that the person asking for help LISTENS to the advice, and doesn't insist they know better. THEY DON'T! The guys that listen, heed the advice and put it into practice get their malfunctioning rifles working and they end up being happy, and hopefully they learned something along the way. Then a lot of them decide to stick around because this place is way more than a gun forum, its a community.
  24. LMAO!!
