  1. I don't have the wallet width to get into another caliber yet, but for say a .243 or 7mm-08 barrel, would you use the same bolt and firing pin as the .308?
  2. There are dozens of caliber options for these large frame rifles, and many barrel makers sell at least a couple different choices. For example, Black Hole Weaponry will cut a barrel to your specs in .22-250, .220 Swift, .243 Win, .260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm08, and .338 Federal, along with .308: http://www.shop.blackholeweaponry.com/AR-10-AR-308_c526.htm There are many choices out there, just make sure you have the correct bolt to match your barrel, of course.
  3. I've got the MBA-2 from Luth-AR, you can get both from their website; http://www.luth-ar.com/product-category/assemblies/
  4. I thought it was the other way around? Oh well, thanks anyways, y'all....
  5. I'm thinking about soaking my NiB bolt carrier in it overnight before I start to break in my rifle, but I'd rather not turn it and the inside of my receiver red. I thought there were a lot more that used ATF on their rifles, someone has to know. That's shooting related, right?
  6. I've heard a lot of talk about ATF being an excellent lubricant, but it stains everything. Anyone know how to remove the red dye from it?
  7. I was thinking the same thing. The difference in diameter is only 2 thousandths, right? That'd be the cheapest and easiest thing to try. FWIW, my pins almost sit flush with the receiver, so I just use chamber flags; http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1116263619/tapco-rifle-chamber-safety-flag-tool?cm_vc=ProductFinding They come 6 to a pack, so no problem if one breaks.
  8. Nice looking Krinkov clone, turned out pretty good!
  9. I had no idea CMMG built trains....
  10. I know, SS, that's why I started this thread, just in case someone with a Ruger missed it. Since the SR762 and Matrix set are supposedly the same set, I want to see if Ruger tapped the receivers or just use a spacer, or if they're even drilled for the rear takedown detent in the rear instead of the bottom of the lower. Good looking out, though :)
  11. Nice job, BTW, that SS should hold up better in the long run than a coat hanger.
  12. Several guys here have built off Matrix Aerospace receivers (the manufacturer of Ruger's receivers) and run into the same issue; the rear takedown detent spring is too short. I don't own an SR762 or I'd do it myself, but can anyone check and see how Ruger solved this problem?
  13. I was just about to say that! I know there are a few guys with SR762's around here, anyone want to check for us?
  14. I'd contact Chris and ask him about the lpk's. I tried to take a picture of the bolt catch but it wouldn't show up good. You just have to take off a little from the top of the AR-10A bolt catch like Angel said, though I don't remember the amount you actually have to remove. Chris could tell you. I'd steer away from a longer spring for the takedown pin. I think you'd need the rear takedown detent spring for a Sig 716, and they cost like $60. The coat hanger trick worked fine for me, just make sure you don't put too much or to little pressure on the spring. Seems like more and more people are jumping on these Matrix sets, we should have plenty of feedback before too long.
  15. But don't all you military guys already have it on Blu-ray?
  16. I'm pretty sure the blem set your talking about is from Reideman Firearms. You can usually get one off gunbroker, though mine was ablemished set with no problems, too. Get the lower parts kit from Chris, though, because you need to modify the bolt catch and I think he's already done it to his lpk's. Also, the rear takedown spring is too short, so you either need to tap the hole for a screw (like everyone else here does, apparently), get a longer spring, or use a spacer on the spring in the lpk. I just cut off a little straight piece of coat hanger and it works fine.
  17. Pics or it didn't happen <lmao>
  18. Sweet build, bro, can't wait to see it in action
  19. If you want a NiB BCG, Ares Armor has a pretty good one. Good price, too: http://aresarmor.com/store/Item/ar10_bcg_nickel_boron Don't let the title fool you, however, it has a DPMS pattern bolt, NOT Armalite. The name AR-10 is misleading. I'll let you know how they are when I finish my rifle, but they look and feel great!
  20. Not to say I told ya so, but.... <lmao>
  21. and their THATCH ROOF COTTAGES!!! https://youtu.be/AoARQRCvpQU <lmao>
  22. Lucky, I barely make half that, and that's STILL more than minimum wage is out here. If you don't like your pay, get a better job. Work too hard? Come down here one weekend and I'll show you some hard work (fyi, it's been high 90's the past few days, with what feels like 100% humidity). Some people will strike for anything....
  23. 16" rifle length .308, I'm drooling just thinking about it.... Nice shout out, Tom :)
  24. I'm pretty sure it's just an AR-15. The curved magwell makes it look bigger than it is. The article just says "the 7.62 millimeter bullet" , it doesn't say which 7.62. Plus it says, and O quote, "The CM901 is also versatile in its modular design, which allows it to fire off 5.56-millimeter rounds as well," so it sounds like another case of idiots writing reports about things they know little about other than the controversy surrounding it. The least they could do is call it what it is. Man, I got all excited, too.... :(
  25. I figured the thumb just came from years of flipping that selector to fun mode.... Post #200! <lmao>
