  1. The "light primer strikes" are from the firing pin's forward momentum when the BGC is slammed into battery, normal. Only one way to know if it's a headspacing issue, and that's to check the headspace. Gauges are relatively cheap. I have so little faith in people these day, I factor the tooling into a build. Before I bought my HS gauges, ask the local GS how much to check HS. $50. I ask how much if I brought the bare barrel and bare bolt (takes barely 5 minutes to check) $50 and he tries to BS me saying "they need to be installed in the upper because it changes when you install the barrel into the upper". I get it. We all gotta eat but don't try to BS me. I'm BS proof.
  2. I never thought twice about lead on my plate until i saw this: It's an x-ray of a deer after being shot. As much as I love my Seirra Gamekings, i might have to swap over to Barnes TTSX's after my stash runs dry.
  3. Second best mic drop, this year.
  4. Barrels come with a Cerakote option as well. I was thinking graphite black?
  5. Nothing special. Hogue pn is 15020
  6. It shot very well but was too heavy for the long walks. I built a PA10 as well, and for the money they are hard to beat.
  7. I shot the 150 fusions in my R25. Didn't like em either. I had great luck with the 165 fusions though. Performed very well.
  8. Shooter's World Blackout seems to be a favorite as does AA1680. There's a very well put together spread sheet I've found that has a TON of useful info. *All credit goes to GregBS and as with any reloading info on the web, I accept no responsibility for anyone's actions.* My Yeti data.xlsx
  9. Awesome and awesome! Keep me posted.
  10. Chop chop! Pretty slick, once you get it dialed in.
  11. I went and bought my mini chop saw tonight. Gonna begin stage one of the brass process soon. Also asked about prices for kits with dies and how many buyers we'd need to get to commit. I'll keep y'all posted. Once I hear back I'll probably start separate a group buy thread. 358 Yeti sounds like an awesome round. I got no dog in the fight but I'd love to see this become the next 300blk or 458socom. Might be reaching but you never know.
  12. @shepp @jtallen83 @ARTrooper Didn't want to leave y'all out
  13. @dpete @washguy @98Z5V @bubbas4570 Just got word from MDWS would be down for a group buy deal on the .358 Yeti barrels and bolts. @Robocop1051, if that's cool with you. Lemme know who's in. He said ship date is looking like March. Step right up folks!
  14. Nice looking rifle! Welcome from Cajun country. You're at the right spot to learn. Now, what you'll learn is the question. Como cest va!
  15. Getting closer. Patience is not a virtue of mine. Any suggestions on a decent grip? I'm looking at the G-mascus line up.
  16. I contacted MDWS, next batch of barrels and extensions is on the way. I've been watching and researching this round for over a year and have yet to find a report of a bad bolt. That's not to say that they don't break, just saying I have not come across evidence of it happening. Actually there ain't much evidence of anything. Almost like an "actual yeti". At this point I'm all in though. Got everything in the safe, just waiting to order the barrel and bolt. Found this nifty lil brass cutting jig. Got it on the bench waiting as well. Might start choppin my stash of CBC brass after deer season.
  17. I put one in my PA10. Very pleased with it. Great machine work. Like Chuck said, they use Armalite carbine length gas system. At least my 18" does. Shoots good enough for me.
  18. That's a good idea. I'll see if they'd be into that. Not sure on how to coordinate it though.
  19. Rimfire is a legal weapon for pigs on the public lands I roam. I have a CMR-30 that I carry while scouting. No complaints so far. Nice lil carbine.
  20. Could you imagine if this aired these days. The nation would burn, pussyhat's everywhere.
  21. Currently on the fence about cerakoting this thing. It would be in Tungsten. Upper/lower/barrel/buffer tube/scope mount. I've painted a few vehicles, a Peterbuilt, and a bunch of aircraft parts so I ain't really worried about the process. Got all the equipment already too. Any of ya'll have any input on cerakote?
  22. Welp, the Vx-3i will be going on the Yeti build. After hunting with the Xanthos this last month, I think it can afford a couple more ounces. I wanted a little mo zoom, so I gotta a 2-7x33 VX-R to take it's place. VX-R scope Plus ever since @jtallen83 mentioned that firedot, I've been interested. Found a damn good deal on it too.
  23. Look no further https://www.larue.com/products/larue-tactical-mbt-2s-trigger/ Nice rifle btw. I have one as well.
  24. All good my friend! You are correct, that thing would've been some kinda fuct up expensive ass PA10 half breed labradoodle without y'all's guidance. (I blame @washguy mostly) It's better this way! The Yeti will be no different.
