I forgot. Digikey sales a 3-M product that may also help. https://www.digikey.com/en/product-highlight/3/3m/emirfi-absorbers 🌞🌻🌈 -
Lane's: jtallen83 inspired 21.750" 300 AAC Blackouts
SimonSays replied to Lane's topic in 300 AAC Blackout
Hey there Lane. I’ve used this company’s stuff before: http://www.masttechnologies.com/rf-absorbers/ I’ve used their RF absorbent pads as shields when working on aircraft weather radar (10 GHz range) to protect myself from radiation when aligning the system on the ground. I’ve also used their fabric sheets to isolate/reduce RF interference on large power boats and sail boats. They also make a caulk that’s more like an epoxy. Well, I don’t actually remember if the epoxy I used was from that company or not. It was a long time ago. I used someones RF absorbing epoxy to coat the inside of the electronic equipment bays in the pilot house console of a small go-fast fishing boat. There was massive interference between the radar, autopilot, GPS/Navigating plotter, etc. It solved that problem just fine. I seem to remember that the epoxy I used had a -34 dB attenuation over a very wide band (1GHz to 15GHz, maybe?). I think this companies off the self “caulk” is 20 dB and a narrow frequency range. I’m not sure what kinds of problems you are having. I’m assuming cross talk, mutually induced oscillations, etc. their products might help. For home made RF isolating material, I’m not sure, except for the standard Ham radio tricks. Have you tried an amplifier/filter to boost and clean up your trigger signal before injecting it into the O’scope or would that cause timing issues? I always enjoy reading your posts. I wish you the best of luck and take care. -
This is what I posted in the comment section: The article left out one important piece of information. Kansas passed a state law that modified the part of the NFA (National Firearms Act) that regulates suppressors. Kanas law did not require the registration of nor a registration fee be paid for its citizens to make, possess or sell suppressor in that state. These 2 men believed state law would protect them from Federal prosecution, just as Oregonians believe state law will protect them from Federal marijuana law violations. They were wrong. Now, 2 men, who believed they were following the law, have had their lives ruined.

Armalite AR-10 B Series. No longer popular?

Welcome to the big show, James BSeries. If I may suggest, hit the Introduction section, tell us about yourself and go into great detail about your problem. Your problem probably deserves it own thread. -
First 308 AR build and questions about Juggernaut's Rail
SimonSays replied to haewired's topic in Building a .308AR
Well, that just sucks. You had a nice looking rifle and spent a lot of time on it. Yep, that sucks. 🤬 -
.74 inches low at 25m will put you .05 inches low at 200m. All the above conditions apply.
-
Nope, sorry. Can’t do it. Got to post more: About 1.02 inches low; IF your muzzle vol is 2730 FPS, your scope is 2.5 inches above your Bore Line and at Sea Level with Standard environment temps, barometric pressure, etc. i highly suggest you use any online ballistic app to change the numbers as you see fit. But, 1 inch low at 25 yards should get you on paper at 200 yards. Crap, I did that in Yards, not Meters.

1.02 inches low.

After some research, I was able to confirm they make: 5.56, 7.62, .50 cal and 20 mm. 98Z, I’ll take your word that they also make 9 mm. It looks like they are adding 6.8 as well. That should be up and running in 3 to 4 years. http://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org/articles/2019/4/4/lake-city-factory-readies-for-new-6-8-mm-round

RedRiverII, you’ve come to the right forum to figure out how a Modern Sporting Rifle works. This site is full on invaluable information. Years ago when I first started lurking here, I literally didn’t know that a Carbine 308 didn’t mean it was just short. I didn’t know the gas system OR the recoil system was referred to as carbine length. I didn’t know the stock housed a recoil system, let alone how it works. I was almost as bad a Feinstein with her “shoulder thinga that goes up and down”. Almost I say. After a lot of reading threads on this site, I’m starting to figure all this out. It’s been great fun and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. Listen to the people here. They’ve spent over 10 years, 10’s of thousands of hours and 100’s of thousands of dollars figuring this platform out. When they say it won’t work, it won’t work. Not because of egos, but because they have already spent money on it and they know. Good luck, have fun and welcome.
-
That makes sense. You’re probably correct.
-
Matt.Cross, that was my initial thought, but that doesn’t make sense. Doesn’t Germany, Australia, Sweden, Russia, China well any country advanced out of mud huts and hunter/gather status make their own munitions from raw materials? I guess it could be cheaper to import ship loads of brass than making your own from copper and zinc, but only 6 production lines in the world?
-
I finally made time to read the article. In it, the author stated: “In the end, production-wise, I should mention that there are currently six specific case lines in the world, and five of them are made at the LCAAP. The other is located in Israel.” I don’t know what case line means? NATO specific cartridges? I’m lost.
-
That is FANTASTIC news and just what I was hoping. I’m really looking forward to reading it. God bless you sir.

First 308 AR build and questions about Juggernaut's Rail

Congrates on the self diagnosisand repair. On that JMT lower, I like the look of the smooth area around the mag well and the Cast Iron look above the controls. I'm interested in how the finish will turn out. I'm glad you're doing a polymer. I just can't decide between a metal or polymer 80% for my next build. I'm leaning heavy towards 7075 Aluminum. I'll be watching this ... -
