  1. Yeah; you do you Sir. I have the same problem. You made me need to build a giant swing to make sure I know how to operate. I can maybe hang it up in the garage in the ceiling?
  2. I'd weld that...
  3. Add a bungie cord for good measure, and steel cables here and there.
  4. I still vote for wooden outer frame (four posts); as it should be even less predictable. But I know you are all well versed already. I'm sure you can come up with even more sinister mounting. Maybe twisted chains as well?
  5. I'm working on reviving the original V3 for you. It has a nice screen. The new ones have color, and the same physical size, but more pixels. Shot timing is a hair different though between them, and I'm still working on qualifications. The labradar helps. But there are still audio recordings that I work against. The software is solid one all hardware with some version; but I'm trying to merge it all into a multi-hardware compatible blob. Sadly; bluetooth seems to be locked out in the short term due to flash memory limits. I'm ready though; it works better than all the commercial products on the market already. Just trying to get it ready for anyone and everyone that wants one.
  6. It would also make sounds if build shoddily enough. The only thing missing is the smell. Do we need some freshly killed scorpions that have started to get mildew pushed under the nose of the shooter? Or some kimchi? Etc?
  7. Swing might need a built in shot timer..... I heard some people around here like those.
  8. I was just thinking about the same thing. What if you tried to stand in a canoe and shoot at anything in a river. When the boat drives by... You're all over the place. You need to have your whole body on a swivel like an owl head; or a chicken's. This is a "CRAZY" shooting problem that I've not had to deal with. But. I guess It's time to build the swing at this place. Who thought this was an awesome idea? .... I agree. It needs to be done...
  9. I saw your feet move a few times. That's why I was thinking about options here... But you'd be grinding on the skanky carpet. You might need a special "outfit" to ride the swing and zero motion for every shot. But every swing is special. You're going to have to learn how to move with it. Building a frame of shite pine wood might be even more challenging since it could flex is unexpected ways.
  10. I'm not saying it's going to be easy. And you don't have any indication beforehand on what the swing is built like? You've not ridden it daily? That's going to be a significant learning experience from day one. But over time; you might find a rhythm of leg moves.
  11. But as long as you don't hit the chains or the floor, or the static "bed posts" you can still pump like you're riding a swing set. It would be more like a swimming action. But you should be able to thrust a bit (with practice) to negate those forces. One can do the same a on a swing set going from max distance to min in just a moments time. Just need to learn to hump that skanky dog smelling carpet while shooting at the same time?
  12. I watched your video; and you were ROCKING. I wasn't sure how the Fsks you shot again so quickly. You were moving the whole time after the first shot. How did you slow the platform after getting on it? The rules said you can't? You just had to wait it out?
  13. Reading this comment, and all the rest got me interested in messing with my muzzleloader again. I had been itching to work out the details of Blackhorn 209 in a sidelock Traditions I built some time ago. This thread pushed me to find and order a 209 primer nipple adapter for that 50 cal. Sounds like I might be able to find powder if I take a short drive; and I've already cast boxes of slugs and round balls for it. Not a super long rifle in this case; but I really appreciate those little breadcrumbs you all dropped about your experiences ( @Magwa and @Belt Fed ). I think it's time to get serious with mine if I can in fact acquire powder in these difficult times; already have primers from reloading shotgun shells.
  14. What about a suppressor on the same gun on the platform? Would that make any difference at all? (I wouldn't know enough about it; I live in NY state still).
  15. Even if you did this; I think you still need to suck and blow. Pull and pop, etc. You would need to be able to know what the cartridge can do inside that realm as well. If you suck; the cartridge is pulled back towards the bolt. Then you want to know what is the distance of the case neck to the edge there? If you blow; you should be similar to ejector pressure and up against the shoulder, much like the distance you could already measure or estimate. Or at least look at with the borescope. Here I would be worried that ignoring the suck; holding in the extractor would give you a floppy fit and not really "know" what the distance to the bolt face is against the cartridge. You certainly don't want to use glue to tape as that adds thickness. Yep; that's a lot of effort. But it might be a useful set of tests in some circumstances. There are a set of .308 headspace gauges floating around in the ether. If you had a significant need for them; you might be able to ask someone to mail them to you.
  16. I won't get too deep into it; I'm not a walmart fan either. The problem here has been IF things are on the shelf elsewhere; prices are way out of line. In NY we are also limited in who will ship ammo to the doorstep (most online retailers will not). I know some smaller shops nearby need to pay rent; but I'd rather someone else get stuck with 50 round boxes of .22lr for $13.99 plus tax (and up). Target Sports will ship to NY; but they want $0.12 a round for Remington Thunderbolt .22s in 500 packs. Have not seen bulk .22s anywhere else on the shelf at all. I'm hopeful that seeing walmart stock is a sign though; that supplies will become more available, and retail prices will drop. Still haven't seen small rifle primers in a long time; and the last box of large rifle I bought was $75... Shiit sandwich either way.
  17. Nice; I found these at one of my local stores today too, and they have a limit of 4 boxes. So I got four. Then I drove to 4 other wal-mart stores, as often at least one of them gets the same thing. Unfortunately only found CCI .22s at one store; and they had a 2 box limit. Better than none; though it was still probably a waste of gas.
  18. I can spoon feed it to you if you can't hold a fork...
  19. So you want this can? Or you can find them in the store? Last time I checked it was a discontinued product. I paid a mint for this one....
  20. I'm just kidding. The only way to eat a can of Sweet Sue is raw dawg just like Angel did.... I kind of have to at this point. Just a matter of before or after the date on the can. And which date is it? Reverse the day and month, or as printed on the can for "americans"?
  21. My can is for sale. If you can prove any one of those scenarios on film or video... Otherwise I might just make a casserole.
  22. The corrosives are what I'm most curious about. But high round counts could be really interesting too. Albroswift's nasty muzzle loader images are what I mean here... That's a lot of red iron oxide; Fe2O3!
  23. With so many cameras on hand, and coming in. I think it's time to grind down the end of a few mirror attachments at measured lengths. That's the only way to get a good focus through a gas port from what I can gather. Hadn't fully thought it through; a gas block without a gas tube installed would be easy to align with a borescope. Just mark the position. I don't have any builds in that state to check; but I'm sure someone else can show off with a barrel, a gas block, and a Depstech camera. Also still waiting for @Belt Fed to post some pictures of a million round barrel. That's what I'm curious about.
  24. I was thinking about this too. Does it make it safer to eat? Extra cooked? Or is it more dangerous?
  25. My can isn't even expired yet. I only heard about Angel after I purchased it; so I'm still on the fence.
