Traded an AK I didn’t love for a newer Colt 1911 Competition. Did not like the blue/black grips and added some walnut. Once I got my M1A project back, I decided I don’t like the walnut after putting it next to the sexy, Winchester big red birch stock. Dammit.

After not having a M1A for about a year, I decided it was time to finish my project. No “good pictures” yet but I’ll work on that.

No complaints.

Picked up a 16” FNH FN15 and decided to drop some extra parts I had laying around on it. This is what I wound up with. I’m not in love with the Vortex optic but it’ll do for now.

So very true.. I did find a little time to swap the flash hider to a compensator/suppressor mount.

Traded my extra USP45 for this Kimber TLE/RL II. Previous owner switched the black, rubber stocks out for the Stoner CNC set. It came with the original stocks and I installed them on my Colt MKIV, Series 70 project gun for the time being. Satisfied with myself, I took a “family photo” with my other Kimber, a Gold Combat II Limited Edition. It was a good day.

Man. Work has been relentless and my race hobby has stolen my free time. I’m still planning a stupid range visit lol

Gunsmith reported the gas port measured .088” and he opened it up to the .093” that I requested. She’s a beaut, Clark 👌🏻Now she needs a nice sling and a suppressor mount/brake. She’s also dry as a bone and needs some attention. With the holidays upon us and a race event next Sunday, I’m not sure when I’ll find time for a range day. Hopefully soon.

Had some FTF issues early on but a recoil spring swap remedied this. I have ran about 250 rounds through it since switching the spring out and I’m more confident with reliability. Decided to slowly start personalizing it by switching to a flat main spring housing and having a long, Wilson Combat trigger installed. My buddy gave me the removable, checkered front strap to try out as well.

Now it just needs to be reassembled! The stock didn’t come out great but I’m not super worried about it. Since it’s Magpul FDE cerakote, I may just buy one in FDE. Purely an aesthetic item but I’m not sure if I like the black hand guard covers now. I’ll have to see it fully assembled to be sure.

Grabbed this Mk IV Series 70 today along with a pile of WC and CM mags plus 300 rounds of ammo for about $800

Well, I traded the LMT lower for a 1911, six good mags (Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick) and 300ish rounds of mixed FMJ & hollow point ammunition 🫣

Rifle is still with my buddy and hasn’t been cerakoted just yet. We both work for the same facility that’s on about day 66? of a site wide turnaround. Needless to say, he’s tied up.

Should be a fun project.
