  1. Aero uses threaded pins in the bolt catch and forward assist, it’s one of the main reasons they are my go-to manufacturer for uppers and lowers.
  2. Thanks for sharing the link
  3. If I get a third safe my wife will be suspicious…
  4. I spent 3 or 4 hours last weekend reconfiguring the inside of my safe to make room for one more rifle. I'll either have to sell something (not happening) or get a bigger safe if I add another long gun to my modest collection.
  5. 14.5” Criterion Core barrel and a BCM BCG...
  6. Absolutely, I should have about .250 to spare. Assuming it meets the legal requirement during mock up, I'll drill for the pin and have a buddy TIG it. Thanks for the heads up though...
  7. I have another build in the works despite telling my better half that I was "done for a while". I wanted to try building a well balanced, general purpose, midweight rifle. Hopefully the continuous taper barrel and minimalist stock will help achieve that goal. Everything I need to finish the build except the barrel, BCG and gas block are here. Criterion anticipates a 2-3 month lead time for the parts. I could probably find the BCM BCG elsewhere but Criterion will check the headspace before shipping. Now it's a waiting game... 8. I scored an Aero Precision special edition "Freedom" lower on the 4th of July weekend. They sold out in about 15 minutes. Soon to be a 14.5 mid length in .223 Wylde
  9. I used a Warne XSKEL
  10. I have their 1x8 Arrowhead on my .308, it’s my first LPVO so I don’t have a real basis for comparison. I will say that it’s bright, clear and I really like the BDC reticle. It was easy to use and dial in, so far it has held zero through a half dozen range sessions. I feel that for the price point it’s a good value.
  11. Some more Magpul Type 2 rail covers for my latest build
  12. I got tired of trying to hold the gun steady, hold the punch in the right place and hammer it squarely to stake the castle nut. The Starrett Auto Punch #18C makes the job seem like childs play. I wish I had purchased one long ago...
  13. Thanks! The column shift and no console is unusual on a GTX and this is the only one I’ve seen with dual sport mirrors (no joystick on the driver’s side door to adjust the mirror). The fender tag is coded for the mirrors, Air Grabber, AM/8 Track, tach, power steering and the red lower body stripe. I added the Performance Hood Paint because it looks so badass on a black car. In August I’ll have owned it for 39 years
  14. I shared a pic of my GTX a couple weeks ago prior to the first big car show since 2019. My BIL came across this video of the GTX on FB that someone attending the show posted. If you're a Gearhead, enjoy... 10000000_856465435078305_3277278349421440006_n.mp4

    Shockwave!

Total impulse buy that doesn't fill any particular need other than to fill my desire to own one. Fun to shoot unless you accidentally load it with full power 3" Magnums, don't ask me how I know...
  16. It would be a reasonable assumption that the ATF would have select fire long guns. The potential of facing criminal elements with full auto weaponry is probably pretty high. In that context I will say yes, he committed perjury. Personally, I believe that he is a devious man that’s intentionally trying to blur the distinction between semi-auto and full auto firearms without being blatantly obvious. Like every lifelong bureaucrat he tap danced around some very direct questions and his reluctance to define what constitutes an assault rifle was very telling. He was trying to downplay his extreme political bias and failed miserably. I would have liked to hear questions about his role while employed by various gun control organizations.
  17. Cars are categorized by class. The GTX fits in the 68-69 B Body Plymouth class, which is usually one of the largest due to the sheer quantity of Roadrunners produced back in the day. I've also entered the modified Plymouth class on occasion so I can park with my friends. I've won best in class a few times which earns a spot in the winners circle the following year to compete against the other class winning Plymouths. These days it more about being with friends and like minded people
  18. Enlarging the gas port by .010 doesn't sound like a lot but it made all the difference in how my build ran.
  19. This coming weekend is the first "real" car show since the summer of 2019. I've been working on the Plymouth for almost a week to get ready, almost there...
  20. He nailed it with “wake up, grow up and shut up”...
  21. I ordered a 3 pack of Springco 5 coil extractor springs with the inserts and o-rings for my spares kit, and a bottle of Black Rifle Balm to try. Still waiting on the automatic punch.
  22. I disassembled the extractor to clean the bolt and had a hell of a time getting the bolt back together again, the dual springs and 2 o-rings were hard to compress enough to line up the holes for the pin. Is this a normal setup or overkill? My AR15’s are 10x easier... Aero Precision NiB BCG
