5-6 lbs is a LOT of weight... If you want to go "a bit heavier" you might get a MagPul PRS Gen 3 stock - it weighs nearly a pound more than the Luth MBA-1. If I let my imagination run wild I land on a cheap solution (1) and an expensive solution (2) ... 1) I imagine that you might be able to add lead tape (like golfers use) to portions of the stock - but I'd want to ensure that I had it well covered / sealed before putting my hands (and face) all over it... If you die of lead poisoning, I never said this. 2) Have a custom piece of tungsten or something similar machined to fit between the pad on the stock and it's mount. Guessing that this would cost a pretty penny - but it would probably be safer than the alternative. Lastly - If you just want to add weight - and it does not have to be on the stock - I found some Gisselle lead weights for placement in / on a quad rail that might allow addition of weight elsewhere. Just my 2 cents...

Huh? Seriously - I'm interested in what is happening here. I'm not aware of any routine censorship of internet content crossing national boundaries - by governments. I understand that private content providers may black-hole certain portions of the IP space (e.g. a former employer does business exclusively in the US, and maintains a policy that their systems and data can only be accessed from the US, so THEY black hole all APNIC (the manager of IP space for Asia/Pacific) and many other non-US IP ranges - but this is their decision and is enforced in their routing tables (any packets routed to the "black holed" IP addresses is simply routed to the bit-bucket instead of back out into the internet. Are you saying that the US Government is actually blocking access to the link above?

VERY cool! Wonder about that becoming something more common - I hate trying to get to the charging handle under a scope (even with a raptor or other "large" charging handle).

Nice write-up! Thanks!

Great time out there…thanks gents…. Oh…I certify the swing to hold one Bubba-sized person and their pea-shooter…

Put a few rounds through it this morning…. The gun is better than me for sure. These were my last two 3 shot groups (being OCD and cleaning the bore between the first 8 single shots - then a couple of 2 shot groups (you can see one under the tape in one of the pics) then 2 x 3 shot groups (the two pics). Now I can work on toning the loose nut behind the scope. I have no doubt that the gun is sub 1/2MOA capable. These were with the IMI 77gr “razor core” rounds.

I found Col Millet. I did not find a "Larry Rosser" - but I did find a quote from Ronald E Rosser and this site https://valor.defense.gov/Recipients/Army-Medal-of-Honor-Recipients/#r has only one "Rosser" in it - a Korean War Army veteran. I've included both below. My previous employer was heavily involved in supporting the MoH related organizations and I've had the privilege of hearing two MoH recipients speak - but I've never had the chance to sit down with one face to face. I fear for the butter-bar... I love both these quotes. Col Millet Cpl Rosser

I’ll look for them tomorrow.

Look at the picture at the head of the article - Mr. Williams receiving his MoH. Then look at the inscription on the bottom of the cover of the book.

Thank you for sharing this article. This book sits on the shelf in my office. It was given to me as gift from our executive leadership when I worked for a company that contracts to the Department of Veterans Affairs. From time to time I open it up and spend a couple of minutes reading. Seeing this thread I thought I'd try to find Mr. Williams in the book. He was there - and here is his page. Semper Fi Mr. Williams... Thank you for your service - and your wisdom.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
BigNate replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
Luth-AR MBA-3 for the .223 Wylde build. Aero lower kit (added to the order to get the order over a threshold in order to get a discount - that made the kit almost free... 🙂 ) -
Riiiiiigggghhhhtttt...

A while ago a buddy invited me out to shoot clays. He laughed at me when I asked if I could come out with my Mossberg 590 tactical and I decided it was not the time. I just came into an over/under 12. Well - it's not mine - it belongs to a friend of my pops - who is in his late 80s and has dementia - and they called me and asked me to store his guns "for a while" to get them out of their home. They told me to feel free to shoot them. Found the 12 gauge in a bottom dresser drawer loaded with 3-1/2" high brass goose rounds. At some point I'll get out there and kill some clays...

Truthfully - that is my first tactical scope - and the second is the MIL variant of the same scope... I bought MOA first because in my mind the 1MOA = 1" per 100 yards maths seemed simpler to me than the 1 MIL = 3.6" per hundred yards. Since I think in inches not CM and yards not meters it seemed logical. After reading up a bit on the topic I determined that there was no good answer - it is a holy-war topic and if I choose one over the other I'm bound to be wrong in some environment - so I figured I'd learn both... 🙂 If the AZ Accurized AR crew here all speaks MIL - I'll get my MIL on... not so much to "fit in" (ask my momma how well I comply when I decide that a directive is wrong) - but to make life easier for the rookie (me)... 🤣

I’ve got a 4-16 MIL on back order…. 😇

Sure…

If you need to max weight stress-load test that swing I’m your huckleberry. 😝
