SIG in Serious Damage Control Mode
308USK replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
What is more troubling (in my feeble [lol[ mind) is that there are at least TWO channels on YouTube that have shown a SOLID fix that is repeatable and has been demonstrated to be DROP-SAFE, yet no action by Sig Sauer. I have examined my M17 (commercial version) and tinkered a fair bit and it does not have any indication of the issue. Sig losing GUBMENT support could mean loss of contracts, if they do not address the issue (with what appears to be a very simple fix). -
Good "therapy" if nothing else! (LOL) Lately, I have gotten into a 3-month routine, just for s&g's.

HELL YEAH! Shaun is good peeps. Musket is a cool dawg!!

Standard carry (hip, chest or shoulder holster, depending on purpose for out of home excursion). And I always take my 300BLK SBR OR 8.6BLK SBR setup in the vehicle... :)

SIG in Serious Damage Control Mode
308USK replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
What's driving me a little nutz on this subject is that there are at least three (3) YT channels that have identified a possible, ney...probable issue point AND how to fix the issue. Sig Sauer could fix the issue and save face/reputation before they lose the USG contracts they have. I will say that I checked the seer movement on my M17 and it does not behave like those I've seen in the videos. BUT, still considering 'the fix' to ensure to negligent discharges, even with the safety selector engaged. -
:) Look forward to seeing the beast next time I'm down in the valley!

Follow-up for all, if you care (lol): Ammunition used in testing: Hornady 190gr Sub-X subsonic S&B 200gr FMJ subsonic Halworx 200gr REX subsonic Ammo Inc. Stelth 220gr TMC subsonic Armscor 147gr SUPERSONIC American Eagle 150gr SUPERSONIC To get MY 300BO with 8.2" Rosco Mfg barrel and my youngest son's 300BO upper with 8.2" Rocso Mfg barrel to run all the ammo listed above, I had to: 1) drill gas port out using #39 machinists bit 2) H1 buffer: JPSCS-15-H1-LAW for my 300BO and a traditional H1 buffer in a separate lower that I have (my M4 which mirrors that of my youngest son). 3a) Superlative Arms AGB at 18 clicks open OR 19 clicks open for MY 300BO 8.2" barrel upper 3b) Ultradyne Quantum AGB at 8 clicks open (15 clicks is max open) for youngest son's 8.2" barrel upper I had originally had a 10.5" Rosco Mfg barrel but to make my SBR a true "backpack" SBR, I had to build a 2nd upper with the 8.2" barrel. Originally used a JPSCS15-H2 buffer, but had issues with Hornady 190gr Sub-X never cycling the rifle. So, when I made the 2nd upper with 8.2" barrel, I took the time to test and re-test to ensure my results made sense. I also received some sage advice from @98Z5V which helped the final steps of my testing. The 8.2" barrel will run every type of ammunition listed like a rockstar with ejection patter anywhere from 2:45 to 3:45 depending on the projectile.

Might be a monster round...but you know all too well that mine doesn't kick at all! LOL (gentle monster).

LOL Well okay then! Either way, I'll bring some 300gr SMK & 300gr BTHP subsonics next time I come to AZ. Still haven't got the 342gr pork shredders from Gorilla figured out. Letter sent to them with COAL measurements from random rounds across 4 boxes (10 measurements per box).

Supers or subs?

Sounds like you're getting the gel block dialed in! Look forward to putting some of my 8.6 Blackout into gel block! LOL

365 X-Macro on my body + 1 spare mag, either an Axial Shift OTF or Hogue K320a knife in pocket. Either: Backpack#1 (8" 8.6BLK w/suppressor, 3 magazines with 300gr BTHP subs loaded, 4" fixed blade, mini-trauma bag, other 'accessories') OR Backpack#2 (8.2 300BLK w/suppressor, 5 magazines loaded with either 200gr FMJ subs or 220gr OTHP subs, 4.5" fixed blade, mini-trauma blade, other 'accessories'). Car-FAK, multiple sets of handcuffs, maps of nearby areas and/or areas travelling to, handheld 2m/70cm radio (to complement the mobile rig in the truck), a myriad of other stuff that have made their way into the truck.

Thanks! I've got 'em on my photography backpack as well, as I've spent years going deep into the backcountry and learned NOT to rely on electronics (esp. in winter months here in CO where batteries die quickly). Now that I have MY 300BLK SBR dialed in, it's time to work the 2nd upper I built for my youngest (same barrel / handguard, different gas block) and get it dialed in...he has submitted his eForm 1 (SBR) a couple weeks back (using pic of overall length measurement I provided).
