Now that I have the MA-Ten set in hand, and given the choice between the two, myself I would go with the MA-TEN, it just looks and feels a little more refined at a price that's comparable to DPMS.
Most feel that the forward assist is not needed on the 308. The general feeling is that with the energy inherent in the 308 that if the bolt fails to close something is wrong with the weapon and a correction needs to be made. Manufacturers include the forward assist because people expect it as a carry over from the 5.56 gas gun. For me personally the FA has no influence on my decision making. Being a left I do require a shell deflector though
Mine came from Brownells. It fit pretty snug. On my DPMS receiver i had to use a nylon faced hammer to tap the pins in. Probably could have done it by hand but it would have hurt. On the SI it was also pretty snug but I was able to put the pins in by hand.
I dont believe they have added the gas block silliness to the non SASS barrels so yeah any .936 should work. Btw the weight is 4.35# on that barrel Get your BCG here before they run out
Welcome, thanks for joining. You'll find a lot to read on triggers and uppers. Be sure to check out the threads on DPMS receiver heights if your considering that path.
I have a non fluted 24". It's a lot to shoot off hand. It isnt just the 17# of rifle it's also the leverage from the length of the gun. I am a wimp though.
nah it's all assembled and in place under the vtac with loctited screws everywhere. Way to much effort for a procrastinator of my caliber. I could have measured had I thought of it.
