  1. My state is moving fast with new gun control laws. I suspect high capacity magazines are one of the items that will be history here.. i have been gathering magazines for handguns I plan on getting. So far I have Sig P226 in 9mm and 40 S&W, Glock 22 in 40 S&W, CZ75 in 9mm. Im thinking maybe: HK P30,30L or USP Beretta PX4 Double Stack 1911 Browning High Power Thoughts on a particular brand, model listed or not? Any other suggestions?
  2. Welcome!, I never noticed that model before.
  3. Stainless Steel is too generic a reference. I would say consult with whoever is manufacturing the barrel you are interested in. Only they know the particular alloy being used in their barrels, they will also be the one honoring a warranty should something go wrong. I would also wonder if some of the cold weather failures aren't due to a barrel full of ice. When you are talking temps well below zero there are other issues to be concerned with as well. Things like the action freezing, the effect of the temp on your load and other parts failing. all jmho
  4. Well you cant beat Brownells for the proper tools. I did a generic rifle tool search here.

  7. I recall that when this all started there was employees stealing parts and selling them. with that came claims of poor practices regarding traceabilty of the parts. I believe they referred to the operation as very loose. We all know the devil is in the details when your dealing with weapons and the feds.

  13. Associated Press Updated Tuesday, February 8, 2011 NASHVILLE — Prosecutors say the owner and operators of a Tennessee weapons manufacturer have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges that they illegally exported firearms components to the United Kingdom. The 21-count indictment was unsealed on Tuesday, charging five individuals at Sabre Defence Industries LLC, a Nashville-based weapons manufacturer. Sabre, whose highest-volume client is the U.S. military, makes M16 rifles and .50-caliber machine-gun barrels. The indictment alleges that the five people were part of a conspiracy to illegally import and export firearms and components to and from the United States. They have been accused of violating the Arms Export Control Act. Prosecutors say the owner of Sabre, 42-year-old Guy Savage, directed the illegal activities from his home in the United Kingdom and from a related company, Sabre Defence Industries LTD, a UK-based weapons manufacturer and importer also owned by Savage. No one answered a call seeking comment at Sabre's Nashville office. Story ©2011, The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.

  19. The barrel manufacturers dont even agree with each other on this subject. Lilja states it's ok and I believe AI's AW rifles utilize stainless.. Q. Can stainless steel barrels be safely fired in sub zero temperatures? Yes they certainly can be. There is a myth going around that stainless steel alloys used in rifle barrels loose their strength in sub zero temperatures. There is no truth to that. We have made many thousands of barrels that have been fired safely in below zero temperatures as have all of the other custom barrel makers as well as the major arms manufacturers. This is an urban legend that should be chilled
  20. I like it. What do you think of the endine?
